Save Me, Chicago! Show Review!
NOVEMBER 5, 2009, 7:48 nachmittags
Boy do we love it in Chicago. You guys really know how to bring energy to a show. For those of you who either saw the show, weren't able to make it, have seen us in other cities, or are planning on checking us out in the near future, check out this review on TheDeadHub.com. An impressively thorough review and some great pictures! Thanks Jennifer.

Re: Save Me, Chicago! Show Review!
Like I posted the other week, I went to the shows in Detroit and Cleveland and they were-- as always -- great. However, I did escape to the Erie show because the day before the show a ticket showed up on ticketmaster for second row center (behind orchestra which was two rows) stage --- perfect seat. Since few hours earlier it was not there, I knew it was meant for me to get-- I did and had a blast-- except for the no beverages past the lobby. How are you suppose to keep hydrated while singing. The girl for Jimmy that night was the most legitimate, devoted Jimmy fan -- Pat could not trick her. The junior Trainettes were great and it was amazing to see Pat's kids perform. It made it so much more personal to see him perform in his hometown. UNFORGETTABLE-- a whole week with TRAIN. I hope they come back through Cleveland or Ohio... on second leg of tour. The cd is great and I cannot believe the video is not in heavier rotation on VH1 or on the top 20 -- but when I see the losers that are (Britney, Gaga, that fireflies or butterflies guy, or Michael Buble??? Please!!... I would not want them to be evaluated with such rubbish). Oh yeah - and Miley Cyrus-- who sings about Jay Z in her song but does not know a single song by Jay Z!!!! I LMAO when I heard that. Please send people like her back to their planet of origin.

I went to the Boston show last night and was blown away. I have never seen a band engage an audience like Train. I saw Pat play in a private concert out in Maui last month and he was exactly the same way. My 13 year old daughter and her friend (who love Train) got on stage last night as Trainettes...a memory that we will all have for a lifetime. Thank you so much! I can hardly wait for my next Train concert.
Re: Save Me, Chicago! Show Review!
The show in Erie, PA was amazing!! Best parts were when Pat sang "When I look to the sky" without the microphone and "Marry Me" at the end. Best concert I have EVER been to!
Re: Save Me, Chicago! Show Review!
The set list in the article is missing a few songs. Anyone have the set list from the show?
Re: Save Me, Chicago! Show Review!

Re: Save Me, Chicago! Show Review!
I was at the Chicago show, even got to do a meet & greet with Pat and Jimmy through a contest on the MIX, local radio station. Pat and Jimmy were great - took pics and signed stuff, even though Pat wasn't feeling well. He warned us that he would be a C- that night. Well, I've seen Train four times before - 3 in Chicago and once in S.F. and I think this was the best show I've seen. Pat totally engaged everyone and you would have never known he was sick. I especially loved when he sang without the microphone. They also did one of my all-time favorite songs "Hopeless." I've always wanted to be the one Pat sings to when they sing "Save the Day" but this time he turned it around and had Jimmy sing to a girl. It was great! I'm still hoping to be the "Save the Day" girl one of these days...
Adding Uncle Kracker to the lineup was great too. It was the first time I had seen him and he rocked it. The venue sucked (the Vic) but their sound is good. I hate the general admission thing too and since we did the meet & greet, we couldn't really save a spot so we were stuck towards the back where believe it or not, people talked a lot. The Vic is too much like a bar, people in the back talk too much when some of the lesser known songs are being played. It was annoying! Anyway great show - and as always the Zeppelin and Aerosmith tunes were awesome! I can't wait to see Train again!

Re: Save Me, Chicago! Show Review!
I was at the Chicago show, so the review and photos were great for me to see. Thanks for giving posting the link, guys! I have to say, I've been a Train fan for several years now, but this is the first time seeing them live, and I was blown away. I'll be at every show they play in the Midwest from now on. Here's hoping there's a second leg of the tour next year that will bring them back to my neck of the woods again. Thanks for the great music, guys. Please keep doing what you're doing, cause you do it so well!.
Re: Save Me, Chicago! Show Review!
Great review. I am not surprised.
Re: Save Me, Chicago! Show Review!
Re: Shar49rs -- I know I spelled assassin wrong in reference to Jimmy (and probably other words because I am tired). Please don't jump me.
Re: Save Me, Chicago! Show Review!
Good review. Is it possible you (Jennifer) left some songs off the set list? (Not a criticism) They usually play Goin to California or Ramble On (both Led Zeppelin) in addition to Dream On (Aerosmith)along with a few more of their own. I challenge any lead singer today to take Pat on (even though he has been sick the last couple of weeks) and out-sing him on these classics!
I have seen Train close to ten times, including twice this week in both Detroit and Cleveland. They were, as always, phenomenal! Pat engages the audience as well as any front man going and the band is extremely underrated. It is nice to see Jimmy (the silent assasin on lead guitar) get more attention. I think this is the first time Scott has come up front to perform too-- good deal. The Save me, San Francisco cd is great and I am starting to dig the title tune even more than Soul Sister (if possible).
I am from Cleveland (and Pat you know you went to Blossom growing up) but my earliest memories as a child are growing up in the BAY area (about two years) and I freakin LOVE San Francisco. I thoroughly enjoy that you have compiled music related to the city, about the city, by artists from the Bay area to play ... between Uncle Kracker and your appearance. I think I am the only one slick enough to catch onto this deliberate compilation of songs. Brilliant-- Grateful Dead, Green Day, Lights (Journey), Starship, I left my heart... OH HELL YEAH!
Any Train fan knows that Pat is one of the premier lyricists of the last ten to 15 years, along with Rob Thomas (MB20), Adam Duritz (Counting Crows) and Johnny Rzeznick (Goos).
I do not need any drugs or alcohol if I am down, just put on Train- Live at Last and go to town! Not that that the enhancements aren't welcome.
My only wish is that everyone would STOP this open pit/ general admission up front stuff because I cannot stand for five hours. First, I am short and can never see. Second, I cannot stand for five hours in order to be up front as I would prefer. I realize I am in the minority, but it is so much better in the first couple rows (even if I have to pay alot- and I am unemployed)than back with people who only know the songs on the radio and never even move -- or worse, LEAVE EARLY. Your loss!!!
Pat - please feel better soon. I am seriously thinking about driving to Erie Saturday-- but family issues would probably result in WWIII. It would be worth it though.
YOU GUYS ROCK!!!!
Re: Save Me, Chicago! Show Review!
Hey Guys,
Just got home from the show! The best ever! I always loved the TLA in Philly and you guys were incredible! It was great to see that "older" woman can get on stage and get some love too! Thanks for a great show and looking forward to you coming back soon!
