Monday, September 30th
sorry we haven't written in awhile. we're kind of on vacation right now. we do have to travel to miami for a show this saturday. it's like the one we did in denver earlier this month. it's a grand prix car race and we're the post-race entertainment. if it's anything like the denver show it'll be a great time. believe it or not, we've never performed a show in miami before!

anyway, everybody is off doing their own things and hanging out with family and friends this past week. we're all very aware that we'll be touring in support of the new album for much of next year, so when we have some time off like now we're trying to relax and enjoy ourselves. we're not really used to it, though.

we had an interesting run of shows a few weeks back. we played two free noontime concerts in downtown st. louis (in the rain) and chicago. then we headed to florida for a festival in the middle of nowhere. then it was off to new orleans for the hurricane festival, which was a week before the actual hurricane hit the shores, but it still rained most of the day up until showtime. after that we flew to san fran for the now and zen festival in golden gate park. it was a beautiful day with about 20,000 people hangin' out on blankets and having a great time listening to aimee mann, india arie, the wallflowers and then us. we had a great time as well. it was nice to meet a bunch of the "trainiacs" (who made t-shirts for the occassion) backstage after the show. thank you all for coming from all over the world to see us. we heard that you all had a fun weekend in our hometown.

that's all for now. we promise to start writing more when the album gets closer to release and the tour starts coming together. right now we're just enjoying the calm before the storm. we suggest that you do the same, because we're going to have an exciting, busy year together with some new music and a big world tour. we're looking forward to it. talk to you soon.
