we'll probably be updating some of the pages soon. maybe some new band member bios, new photos and new merchandise for sale. we're also working on an "appearances" page that will list television appearances around the world as well as radio shows and places you'll be able to see us other than on tour. for example...we're currently doing this radio tour of america to promote the upcoming june 3rd release of our new album, "My Private Nation". it started in Los Angeles last week and continued on to Las Vegas, Portland, Seattle, San Francisco, Sacramento and San Jose. next week you'll hear us on the radio in Chicago, Indianapolis, Boston, Hartford, New Haven and New York and the following week you'll hear us in Denver, St. Louis, Atlanta, Charlotte, Norfolk, D.C. and Baltimore. after that we'll be in new york to tape the carson daly show on june 2nd (to air the following week), to perform on the street outside of tower records to celebrate the release of our record on june 3rd, to do an AOL sessions, an MSN chat on the 4th, the david letterman show on the 5th, the today show live on the streets of new york and a taping of the CBS morning show (to air the following week) on the 6th and then we fly to europe that evening. europe will include a bunch of press, radio, television and even a few shows in london, paris, germany, amsterdam, madrid and italy. we'll post all of the details when we get them. this is not our "official" european tour. we're planning to return for a full-scale concert tour later this summer, which will also include australia and japan. back to the U.S. on the 23rd of june for the jay leno show and then off to san francisco to begin our first headlining U.S. tour in years! tickets went on sale for the first of those dates yesterday. anyway, we figure these are things that you might want to know and so we'll tell you on the new "appearances" page, which ! should be up and running sometime soon.
alright....back to work. we'll talk to you soon.

our new single, "calling all angels" was released to radio a few weeks back and is doing quite well out of the gates. we've been getting very good feedback from the radio stations and more importantly from our fans. we've got that warm, fuzzy feeling in our bellies again! damned burritos. you can start looking for the accompany video, which will debut on VH1 on Wednesday.
as for the tour...
plans are being finalized as you read this for a promotional trip to new york in early june, a promotional trip to europe in mid-june and a full-scale american (and parts of canada) tour in late june. we'll be playing theaters and clubs the first time around and we'll kick things off in san francisco on june 27th at the warfield where our DVD was filmed. keep checking our website (which will be completely new and improved within the next two weeks) for more dates and ticket info. we're also planning a tour of australia, europe and possibly even japan later this summer.
our new album, My Private Nation, will be out on June 3rd. if you pre-order the album, you can win a trip to see us in new york. you can get all the info on our website.
that's all for now. just wanted to drop you all a quick line and fill you in on a few things. thanks to everybody for requesting our new single, "CALLING ALL ANGELS", on your local radio stations. keep it up...it seems to be working. we really do appreciate it. we look forward to seeing you all this summer on tour.
happy spring,
Wednesday, March 26th
our new album, which will officially be our third release, is titled "My Private Nation" and will be in stores on JUNE 3rd! we're very excited and proud of this record, which we spent most of the past year working very hard on. we feel like it's our best so far. when you purchase this cd on JUNE 3rd you'll not only receive 50 minutes of some of the finest songs ever recorded by this incredible band, but we'll also throw in a beautiful 16 page booklet which will include lyrics for the very first time, as well as two really good looking photos. and if you buy now (JUNE 3rd!) we'll also throw in some dancing girls that will pop out of the record when you open it. you can't beat this deal, folks! ok, well...everything except the dancing girls part is true. anyway, the first single will be released to radio in mid-april and is titled "Calling All Angels". the other ten singles will be released later. we shot the video for "Calling All Angels" in los angeles last weekend. it's a bit different than our other videos in that it will be mostly animated with live performance shots of the band overlayed into the animation. the live shots were done in a movie studio against a large green screen. the animation is being done by the video director, shaun peterson, and his team of experts in new york. the video should be out in mid-april along with the single. we're planning a big tour that should start in june somewhere in the northwest corner of america. we'll let you know dates and details as soon as we get 'em.
that's it for now. stay safe and don't forget to buy our cd on JUNE 3rd! you might want to purchase a second copy for the car. and save some cash for a concert ticket and a t-shirt, too. and a sticker. we love you! thanks and goodnight.

here's a random piece of train news for ya...
we were all very saddened by the space shuttle tragedy earlier this week and our thoughts and prayers go out to the astronauts and their families. Good Morning America reported that the astronauts wake-up music on that fateful morning was "drops of jupiter".
ok. that's all for now. hang in there, don't forget about us and we'll drop you a line in a few weeks with any new updates.
happy valentine's day!

basically, rob decided that it best suited his life right now to spend more time at home with his family. it was good timing for everyone involved as we are between albums and not touring right now. we had already decided to add a keyboard player to our touring lineup this year and will now add another somebody to fill rob's shoes (they will be hard shoes to fill). we wish rob continued success and the best of luck as he does us. he made a very big decision and is doing what is right for his life right now and we completely understand.
again, we'd like to wish everyone a safe and happy holiday season. we'll talk to you soon...

we've been on a much needed break pretty much since the end of the jeep outside festival tour we did with sheryl crow this summer. we did a few shows on the side (denver and miami), but decided to take a break and concentrate on finishing our album. a few things happened while we were on our break...
pat became a professional foosball player (judging from his skills on the table in the atlanta recording studio), jimmy worked hard improving his golf game and now sucks only slightly less than he did when he took up the game three months ago, scott should be speaking fluent spanish with as much time as he has spent in mexico, but all we've heard him say is "dos cervezas por favor", charlie spent a lot of time working on his sailboat that nobody's ever seen
him sail, but he looks really good on it and rob...
anyway....some more songs were written during our time off that we're really excited about, so we decided to revisit our producer (Mr. Brendan O'Brien) in Atlanta. we spent the past ten days here and recorded some more music for the record, which we are feeling very excited about and are planning to wrap up production this weekend. we're still undecided on a name for the record, but are close. expect the record to be available in stores sometime in the spring. we'll tell you more when we know more specifics. good things take time.
during our time off, before we came to atlanta to finish the album, rob and train decided to part ways. there are no hard feelings and there will be no ugly story uncovered on VH1's "Behind the Music".we had a great eight years together (even more for charlie, jimmy and rob
who spent 5 years together in a band before Train) and we wish each other the
best of luck and continued success. we want to assure you all that Train will
continue being a band. we are as excited about this band and our music as
we've ever been and are looking forward to releasing our new album and
touring in 2003.
happy holidays to you all!
