Tour dates in the boston area?

Hey guys. My brother works for Sony Music and introduced me to you about 2 years ago. You guys are really talented and I enjoy your music tremendously. Your new record which I have now will be a big hit I think.

Are you planning on any show dates in the Boston area at some point soon?

Love the music

I first heard the new music on Mark and Brian and I wrote down the album title so I could go out and buy it. I was so disappointed when I found out it wasn't out yet. I bought it the first day it came out and I love the music,Thanks Train!

Come to Boston!!!

The way I discovered this band is actually a little odd -- I saw them play a couple of songs from the
studios of CNBC (while I was watching the noon time market recap). I thought having a band
play on CNBC seemed a little weird but I was mesmorized by the sound. The self-titled album
ended up making my album of the year selection for its release year, particular favs included
Free, Homesick and Eggplant.

I am so psyched the new album is out and can't wait for it to burn out my CD player. But I wish
band would spend more time in the Northeast!!! A college-town like Boston would LOVE to
see some live shows!!! Please come up this way soon!

Steve - Tue Apr 3 23:49:14 EDT 2001

please get out of my head

I was so impressed with your latest cd that I had
the music loaded onto a small disk which I had implanted in my brain. The songs brought so much joy into my life. I found that I no longer obsessed about every little thing that effects the economy like I used to. I even turned my new friend George onto your tunes one morning after an all night bender. He liked the music so much that he too had the disk inserted in his cranium. The problem is that the damn things have now become stuck on a permanent loop and I am having problems concentrating on anything but your music. I feel that the economy may be suffering as a result. George totally started wigging out last night when the song respect finally sent him into a flashback and he started ranting about how nobody respects him etc.. The next thing I know he is on television threatening to attack China. We love your music but I feel we have become a little excessive in the amount of time we have dedicated to enjoying these incredible songs. I felt I should write and warn any other fans that may have been planning to have this music put on a mini-disk and inserted in their heads. It is not as great of an idea as it sounds at first. P.S. if any of your sound guys knows of a way that we can get these disks off of permanent loop, we may be able to save our economy and democracy as we know it.
Your biggest fan Greenie

TRAIN

Besides that I didn't listen to anything else but DoJ since I got the CD (Sorry, but I always have to take things to their extreme) ... I was just wondering what else you are listening to ... other bands and artists one really HAS to know?

And I was wondering: What is being said about TRAIN? (@ Jim Henley)

There isn't anything else I could think of right now ... so, take care y'all ... and tell others about the things you've found ...

TRY AGAIN

Your thoughts

The entire team that makes Train the band they are today deserves to give themselves a round of applause. A job very well done. I have listened to the Drops of Jupiter CD numerous times and after each listen I think the same thing.....classic. I was introduced to the Train sound through Mark and Brian. I have since been inrigued by the sound of the band. I then listened to the Doors tribute album, incredible!! I wish to introduce your team to our team. I am a member of the Rettig band team. A nine piece rythem and blues rock and roll band that is giging in Los Angeles. Train is playing at the House of Blues on April 19th. We would love to be the Cinderella band that opens the evening. Our sound is big a Hammond B3 serves as the back bone of many of our tracks. We love your band and would like to do the honarable t6hing by offering to open for you whenever you play Los Angeles. Our CD is done and we can let you take a listen. If you dig good Rhythem and Blues Rock and Roll it will not disappoint. I would really like to hear back from you. You have no idea what is being said about you right now. Rock and Roll looks forward to Train becoming a pillar in the community. -Jim

lyric writing

First of all---you guys are some of the most talents songwriters out there, I love your songs not only for the beat/tune/feeling...but also for the words--straight from the soul...that's why i love your songs so much! anyways, your song and other artists like you are what have become my inspiration in discovering song writng. I've been writing for only a few years now just for the heck of it and have about 35 or so songs completed...now what? I'm very interested in making this a profession and wanted to know if you knew what I do with them. I'm afraid to just put them out there without a copyright, so if anyone could just link me a sight where I can get some info on how to get started-it would be greatly appreciated!

Discovering Train

Precarious girl,
stumbling wandering, not quite sidewalk-anchored
seeing the late, gold sun
with eyes shut and face wide open.
I smile inside
-the force of your young song-
and only the slightest twitch as I see, through you,
the arounds and in-betweens
of the bustling, sightless worker people
the Un-Grinners
who shield their closed hearts from a
song-studded dazzled girl's face.

So, you guys need to get back here ASAP. I mainly remember Charilie and Scott, hanging with us. And threw the entire show, Charlie was wearing a white cowboy hat that I wanted, and we all yelled "CHARLIE KICKS ASS!!!!!!!!!" AND HE DOES. So, please get back here when you can. Scott was nice enough to give me some drum sticks. You guys were just too cool. So, please come back to VA, and always remember CHARLIE KICKS ASS!!!!!!!!!!!!! And Scott, you are the man

You guys

Train~
The first time I heard your C.D.self titled, I had the songs ingrained in my head for days! Yesterday, I bought the "new" one, and again you got into my head. You guys are awesome!
I was at your concert in Chicago in December. I was in the 5th row and so desperatly trying to get your attention. I knew all of your songs(except the new ones, which I love now). You were the reason I went to that concert. And I haven't been to a concert in 15years. Hope that doesn't date me.Despite the younger kids around us during the concert(there for Everclear) I had an awesome time. My only wish was I could be on stage with you. Nonetheless, you guys are awesome! ROCK ON!
Let me know when you come to Michigan.

new cd

dear god, the new cd is excellent. here in texas last night...the air was thick and warm, humid, the wind rolling - a tangible, visible thing. a night (first in awhile) for open doors and windows, lemonade, porch chats on lawnchairs, and good music. thank you train, for making the perfect music for last night, or any night/day for that matter. the new cd is even better than the last...thanks for such a great album. i'll catch your act in austin or dallas, hopefully! (you better not be one of those sucky live bands). :)

This album is flawless!

After hearing Drops of Jupiter on the radio I went in a mad search for the cd. It had not been released yet:( I got one of the first copies sold on the day it came out. (second only to store staff) This is the best album I have heard in a very long time. The music is strong and tight and the lyrics touch the soul. It's tough to pick one but I think my favourite track would have to be "Let It Roll". I am now playing this album non-stop and making everyone around me listen too. Congratulations on a job well done. I look forward to seeing a live show so please come back to Toronto soon. You just rocked on Letterman. I found out about Lee's Palace after the fact:( I wish you great success and thank you for this album.

Drops of Jupiter Lyrics

My recent x-boyfriend of 9 years sent me an email about the Drops of Jupiter song. He said that it reminded him of me. So I got it and listened and really cried. It wasn't just about me. To me, it sang about us. Our paths have separated because I want to 'find God' and he wants to 'just be normal'... Might not even be what the song is about but sure bears a close resemblance to how we are right now. It is incredible to have a song that we can share while we go through this rough time. It reminds us that we are not alone in this experience. Thanx.

Tina - Tue Apr 3 04:38:15 EDT 2001

Drops of Jupiter CD

I'm a new fan to this group. I must say that I generally don't like things from this era of music with everybody screaching and preaching and cussing, etc....
You guys are refreshing. Music the way it is suppose to be. I even suggested to Peter Frampton that you guys would be a great band to have on their tour in the near future.
I'm hoping to catch your show at the end of the month in Indiana.
Keep it coming guys....you sound great, lyrically, and musically.
Thanks

Just wanted to say that this cd is one of those rare "finds" and I appreciate finding it so much. I have been a fan since your first cd. I was in Va then but now in Idaho, I tell everyone that they just cant live without this newest cd. I love every song. I have to play it at least once a day to get through! Thanks so much and hope to catch a show soon. I had to work when you came to Norfolk, Va last year. I should have skipped work. :+)

Chicago Fan

I'm really upset I couldn't get tickets to your fan appreciation show at the Park West in Chicago. I thought those tickets were for fans and considering I'm your (Train's) biggest fan I was pretty upset. I just have to practice dialing the radio station faster which was the only method of getting tickets to this show. Anyway, I really love your new album, I'm glad "Hopeless", from the "One and a Half" album is also on "Drops of Jupiter" - it's my favorite.

Thanks for your great music.

I'd love to e-mail with some of you, too ... if you want to, just go ahead. I check my e-mail at least once every day ...

I wish I could see the Crows in SD, too, but I'll be gone by then ... I even had someone order a ticket for me. We've never met each other, but he's just the cutest ... anyway, it's really cool to find a couple people who like the same music ... honest, I've always believed that if there's one thing that could change the world for better, it would be art ... DoJ makes me believe in that again.

THANK YOU ...

I'M A DJ. WE'RE TRULY A DYING BREED, BUT THE REALLY COOL THING IS WE GET THE CHANCE TO HEAR NEW MUSIC FIRST. WE HEAR THE GOOD, THE BAD AND THE HORRID. THESE DAYS, SO MANY ARTISTS SOUND LIKE THEY CAME OFF THE SAME OLD ASSEMBLY LINES, BUT LISTEN, PEOPLE, THIS NEW TRAIN CD IS SOMETHING TO GET EXCITED ABOUT! I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE THEM IN ATLANTA. I never did get your new address Ginean, and oh yes, Hello finally! I'm not sure if this will end up finding you. I'll give you my new address (Jill is with me too, and Puppy) which is 70 South Roop St., Susanville, CA 96130. I have so much good news to tell you, and I would really like to hear how Patrick and Emelia like it back east. Guess what? I passed that damn algegra class and am now doing statistics. I applied to Chico State for this fall too. Please get in touch, we miss you. Love, Kelly (and Jill!)

History worth repeating..

Hi Guys! First time I saw you was in Fairfax, CA. Remember Broadway 19? Well, I was there grooving to your sound then, some 4 years ago (Already?) and bought those 5 song tapes you had. Wore those out just when your first cd came out! Good timing!
So now after listening to your DOJ cd I couldn't stop smiling or looking at that signed lyric booklet! Thanks guys and Tower! You are all so polished! Pat, your tone in your voice is above amazing, it is like a mist that hovers over every line. Can't wait to see you guys at the Fillmore again! I was there for your last show when you first sang DOJ! I have been waiting with baited breath since! See you at the Mystic Theater on the 18th! Kudos to you guys for keeping it real in such a sell-out business! Say, I am sure that I am not the only fan that would LOVE to have a "Live" cd in their collection of your songs! Any hope of that ever happening??
Enjoy your success, you have worked hard for it!

no New England tour dates?

I really wish you would add some tour dates in the Rhode Island / Massachusetts area. I remember seeing you live twice, on the same day, on June 4, 2000 (two radio shows) and you were AMAZING. I would really like to see another show.... :)

Counting Crows

No worries - glad to offer what little info I have.

Maybe it's very wishful thinking and maybe I'm going out on a huge limb, but the Counting Crows are playing a venue in San Diego July 6 with a guest TBA ... hmmmm. Would that just be THE BEST?!

Amy Jo (A.J.) - Mon Apr 2 15:18:05 EDT 2001

HOB and staying in California ...

I was afraid it would be sold out by now, but when I tried to get tickets through ticketmaster, I couldn't get any at all. And I tried a lot ... Anyway, thank you, A.J., for telling me about the Late show performance ... the sad thing is thatI'll leave California in two months, so I won't catch the Tonight show ...
BTW: I'm from Germany. They don't think of doing a European tour anytime soon, do they? (Do You?)

And I'm glad, I'm not the only one obsessed with TRAIN ... I haven't been listening to anything, but DOJ since I got the CD last week ... Seriously, I'm a huge Counting Crows fan, that's how I got my first TRAIN song ... and I never thought anyone would come close ... I think I have to correct my opinion on that. DOJ, by far, is the best song I know ...

Thanks again ...

I ended up picking the Drops of Jupiter CD up today as well, and I am so totally blown away. "Drops of Jupiter" CD Hard to Find in ATL

Had to wait 4 days after the new release of "Drops of Jupiter" before I could get my own copy.

Best Buys told me to come back in a week....all sold out in Atlanta area... went to a BIG MALL, and found one out of 3 left.

One week after its release and all sold out! Coincidence? I think not. See you guys at Music Midtown, and hey, if you ever record again at Southern Tracks, can I hang with ya'll? Multi-media part of the CD is excellent, and I can throw a decent basketball.... Brendon is a genius and you guys DO rule!

Im a tour pro(golf) that does'nt have alot of spare time but I do listen to your music often. I recently heard your new release 'Drops of Jupiter' which is outstanding ! What I wanted was a general interpretation of the lyricks of the title song. I recently lost my mother and the song seems to have some direct connections. Word of Mouth Spreads the popularity of TRAIN

Hey Guys,
I'm a big fan. My name is Luke and I'm from Houston Tx. I just want to let you guys know that I am a huge fan. Whe y'all first came out with "meet virginia", I knew it was written about someone you knew, but it can relate to anyone who likes the song and wants to relate with someone special. I absolutely loved the guitar solo from "meet virginia", but why did y'all have to cut the last part out? That was my favorite part. The wah-wah-wah-wah-dooooo. It was excellent guitar picking. I'm a huge fan and me and my friends are huge fans. We would love for you to play at our senior prom and we WILL PAY GOOD MONEY!!! We have it if you want it. We have been saving and you guys are worth it. Please email me if you are interested or if you just want to talk at HardDisk88@aol.com. Thanks guys talk to you later. LUKE

just wondering:
why did y'all re-record "hopeless"?
surely it belongs on DOJ
but i fell in love with the version on the EP
it is more stripped down and sounds lessed produced on the EP... and better...the vocals, everything...didn't see the reason to monkey with it...if trainiacs could compare the two, i bet more would agree with me...either way, ultimately it's yet another great song from the best band out there today

Well, well, well. David Letterman, eh? CHARLIE, it feels REAL good to watch it arrive, bro. Real, real good. Yup. Congratulations mister. Dedication rules the day. I should mention your singer came across fantastically, both in vocal and performance. It appears the shuttle is ready for launch. I miss Brett. Windowpane crossover-section. Conragulations

I know there were rumors for quite awhile that the band wouldn't stay together, I'm really glad that you all decided to hang in. The new CD Drops of Jupiter is fantastic...The harmonies are great. Take it from someone who has NEVER felt compelled to write a note of appreciation. I always thought it was for kids. But Pat and the rest of the band deserve recognition for coming out on top!!

They're called The Establishment and they have a similar sound to Train. Check out some MP3's on their website at www.establishmentmusic.com

Thankyou For Sharing Your Gift!

I honestly feel really stupid posting in a forum lol, but I had to tell you how much I love the album. I enjoy every track, and you have no idea how rare that is for me. I new I loved your first album but wasnt sure of what the second would bring, alot of bands cant deliver the second time around. It's a test of true talent, and you passed big time! I look forward to hopefully being able to catch you guys in concert. Rock on! =0)

chicago

Just had to drop a note to tell you how much fun I had at the Chicago show at the Park West. What a pleasure to be able to hang out & meet the band after. I think it's great that you guys do things like that. Thanks for the time & the autographs. What a great show! I've been talking about it all week. I saw you guys twice last year & can't wait to see you again in May. I finally picked up my reserved copy of the new album & love it man. I do have one question. On the Letterman show was Paul Shafer playing to fast? Why let him play piano on that tune? Anyway keep up the good work. Have Fun! Love Drops of Jupiter!

Phoo - Sat Mar 31 16:35:16 EST 2001

WOW

That's all I can say, WOW! Drops of Jupiter may be the best album I own. Not one bad song, NOT ONE! I have no favorite song on the cd, because I love them all. And every song is so well constructed musically it's unbelievable. Columbia Records knew what they were doing when they put that offer on the CD; no one is going to send the cd back for their money. I hope Train doesn't release anymore singles from the album because it's just to perfect to have any song seem better than the others. They're all incredible.

My thoughts on Train

I seen train last summer, at the Basilica Block Party in Minneapolis for the first time. They make some great music, they have very tight sound and feel to them. Great Band. Keep it up...

Ryan - Sat Mar 31 14:41:23 EST 2001

You know what I love about this music? Living in Nashville, definitely first and foremost is the use of various instruments--really demonstrating range. But most of all, it has to be the realistic lyrics with a sense of rhythm and intonation that is spellbinding. I am always hooked by a lyricist/vocalist that is so distinctive that by merely hearing their voice, there is a sudden sense of reminiscent melancholy...taking you back to a moment that seems so vivid...again. Like a "replay"...so to speak. Pat Monahan's distinctive voice has the same pull for me that I feel when I listen to Dylan, Van Morrison, Steven Tyler..or even Steve Perry---definitive Train. Enough...
obviously, I love it! Thank you.

Caroline - Sat Mar 31 13:00:23 EST 2001

New Album

I just really want to tell you guys that I *love* the new album. I've been a big fan of yours since the first time I heard "Meet Virginia", and it always seems to me that, when I like a band, the next CD they release just doesn't do it for me. I bought "Drops Of Jupiter" the day it came out, and I was honestly blown away. It's great. Your music has always been a refuge for me when life gets kind of bad, and I just want to really thank you for that. You guys are unbelievable.

A Fan Always,
Kurt

FLA is just a little too low

Great Job on the new album. I just want to remind you that you have plenty of fans down in South Florida. We feel a little neglected since a bogus Hurricane watch cost us a show last tour. I bet the new songs sound great live. I'll keep checking the tourdates.

!!!!!

I just saw you on the Mike Bullard Show (you are GREAT live!), am waiting (tho most likely in vain) to see if I've won tickets to a show happening tomorrow @ Lee's Palace (I think?) and hoping that you'll come to Canada (more specifically, Toronto) over the summer! I haven't gotten your album yet, but I'm really, really hooked on Drops of Jupiter. I've heard the samples offered on your site, and that has convinced me even more to buy your album. The only thing holding me up is the cash - I've been indulging a bit much lately, but I think I'll do it again. DoJ is worth it!

I should have known

Hey guys,
I highly doubt you would remember me from your National Anthem singing days, but as I walked through the mall here in Denver, I couldn't help but reminisce...I saw your new CD, which I am listening to as I type this, in the Sam Goody--right up front and center and of course I purchased it immediately. But what I recall is you sitting in the box at Mile High after singing the National Anthem for a Broncos game and then singing during half-time. I was the person who booked your performance--the one with all the radios and head sets on-- and even though I got bitched out from Shanahan because he said his players couldn't hear him in the locker room during the half time performance, I was laughing inside. And of course, the weeks after, the players couldn't get enough of your CD. They were all coming to my office to get the sound of your beautiful music. You have come a long way since those Mile High days and even though I am no longer with the Broncos, I won't soon forget meeting such a nice group of guys with incredible talent. Thank you for your sound, mysticism and for giving a chick from Cali songs that bring me back to my childhood in the good ole Palisades! Congrats on all your success and future endeavors. I look forward to seeing you in Colorado again.
Aloha,
Britt

Hey guys! I just bought your new CD today and I love it just as much as the first!! My boyfriend sort of introduced me to your music and I was hooked the first time I heard "I am"--by far my favorite of your songs...although "Hopeless" is a close second! I would love to see you guys live...I'm hoping to catch you in Charleston in May...you should definately visit NC (We'd love to have you in Wilmington!!) And anytime you're out surfing the web check out WWW.CATCHINGRED.COM

NEW CD

I was impressed by the new CD and also the refund offer on the CD if you didn't love it. How could anyone not love your music? Your first CD spoke to me when I needed it the most. Eggplant is one of my favorites. Let me tell you something, I took my boyfriend to your concert last year in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and turned him onto your music too. In fact, we are still together! Thanks for the great tunes and lyrics, hope to see you soon in Tulsa! Cindy

TV, Cheap Trick and website

TV appearances - In the band bio, there was a blurb saying Train was on Leno, Conan and Kilborn before making the new album. I only know of the Conan appearance....what are the dates of the other two appearances? Did they play Meet Virginia?

Drops of Jupiter - Oh wow. New album lovely. Anybody think that on Respect, Pat Monahan is a dead ringer for Robin Zander?? Btw, I totally don't get the Black Crowes similarities.

Website - Kudos to the webmaster. I love this page. The images load up soooo fast, no Javascript and no Shockwave to bother with. Excellent design. Yum.

Scott Underwood's bio - That was hilarious. Write more!

Your thoughts
This is the first time I have been on this ride so I don't know where it goes! I wanted to get the word to the members of Train that Massachusetts is dying to have them back. Last year,2000, they were at the Eastern States Exposition and I missed them because of night school. I could shoot myself!
Also, kick ass new cd!! Looking forward to getting the two non-released songs!!
Our own band is practically a Train cover band just from the old album. Now I'm trying to convince the guys to do "It's about you," my personal favorite.
That's it for now!

D.O.J. - special independant record store release with two bonus tracks!!!

So...

I just found acopy of DROPS OF JUPITER with two bonus tracks:
"It's Love" - a new tune which has a kind of Rage Against the Machine feel to it and
"Sweet Rain" - a cut from the "One and a Half" internet only EP released a year ago.

Both tunes are great for the die-hard TRAIN fan.

Now, it seems that the deal is that this is a release exclusive to independant record
stores (I picked mine up at a place called Record Breakers, in Hoffman Estates -
a suburb of Chicago). You will need to hunt around for it at your local indie record
store but they are out there.

Later...

Tickets in LA

To: "Queen of rain" - Yes - House of Blues is sold out... sometime yesterday.
I am pulling out a favor from a friend who has connections at the HOB. I'll
let ya know if I hit the jackpot. In the meantime, the tickets to the Late, Late
Show are free - just go to www.oncameraaudiences.com. Also, the tickets to
the Tonight show in June are free - you have to write for those. I purchased
tickets yesterday for the show in San Diego - it's only 2 hrs away and it's a
Saturday.

I've been so obessesed lately with Train, my brother actually said to me, "dude,
you're a mess". LOL!!

Drops of Jupiter

I have to agree: It is the most beautiful song I've ever heard, too. The album is great too. I found it yesterday, and I just had to buy it ...

BTW: I was trying to find tickets for the band round LA ... Are there still tickets available for the House of Blues, Hollywood, or is it already sold out?
It would be great if anyone could help me ... Even if I had tickets, would they let me in at all cause I'm not yet 21?

Anyway, DoJ is amazing ... The song makes me cry every time I listen to it ... THANK YOU.

Drops of Jupiter CD

Hey Guys,
WOW! Where do I begin? Drops of Jupiter is absolutely a gorgeous song. But I have to say the entire CD is awesome. I was blown away when I read the Columbia Records disclaimer. They are right...I love this CD. I purchased this CD first thing Tuesday 3/27 and listened to every song 4 times before I could stop the CD. I was mesmerized by every song. If you knew me very well I am one to purchase a CD for a hit song listen to that song until I am tired of it and the CD goes on the shelf. My husband took it to work with him the next day and listened to you guys for over 12 hours. I thought your first CD was good but you have outdone yourself on this one. We look forward to future music from you guys. Keep up the good work. Wish you the best of health, wealth and every other good thing that could possibly come your way. You truly deserve it. We are hoping to see you in concert in Atlanta, Ga in May. Hopefully you can come to the BI_LO center in Greenville, SC soon.
A true fan,

One more thing

Knowing anyone on this board must have excellent taste in music and appreciates the bands today who have great talent in this day and age of computerized fakes "britney, backstreet,n*sync, so on and so on. I would love to encourage you guys to check out Sister Hazel if you haven't already. Their latest realease "Champange High" is totally awesome. Their more poplar that you might know is "All for You" or "Change Your Mind". They are a very talented group from Jacksonville, Fl. Check um out at sisterhazel.com or on all three cd's, self-titled a.k.a. "little white album, "Somewhere More Familar", and latest, "Fortress". Thanks for reading and thanks to Train for letting me post here. On their site is where I learned that "Drops of Jupiter" was realeased. Read some of the posts on sisterhazel.com about Train and you'll know we have great taste too!

It really sucks when I spend $16.99 plus tax for my Train CD and discover that once again there are no written lyrics printed in the Train CD case. Whats up with that crap. Train is one of my favorite groups, but it seems petty to exclude the words to such good music! Please E-MAIL all lyrics to me, since your site does'nt have a print all lyrics icon. please reply with answers or just send tickets (back stage passes)to you're next concert in OK. ARK. MO. area.

Rock the Bottleneck

Train rocked the Bottleneck in Lawrence, KS. on their premier aware tour to an intimate crowd. By intimate I mean that my best friend and girlfriend and I were the only ones in attendance that weren't affiliated with the radio station promoting the tour. We drove through the aftermath of a blizzard for 2 hours with no heat to get to the show just because I won tickets (worth all of 1.07 apiece). It was worth it.

A couple of years later, Train returned to the Bottleneck to face a sold-out crowd. I got to touch Pat... tell me that's not damn cool. They rocked the place... Truly the best show I've been to and would love to relive it, alas it seems KS or MO isn't on their tour this time around :( Please reconsider Pat and Co. ! Didn't we treat you well?

Letterman

Last night on the east coast i realized that train may be on Letterman. I watched for a little to see what the line up was going to be. To may satisfaction train was going to be on. The thing is i fell asleep and woke up just as Pat sang his first note. I was still half asleep but was wide awake in seconds and couldnt fall asleep again for sometime after. Pat was 3 grades behind me in grade school at Our ladys Christian elementry. he was a little twerp (lol). As we got older we were both involved in the Erie Pa. music scene. When he was with local Erie bands Rouges Gallery and X-It I was always in ahh when i saw him play out. His voice was excellent then and is even better now. Its good to see he still calls Erie home. After last nights show he made me become a die hard Train fan. Now i cant wait to drive down to Pittsburgh in May to see Train play at the Pepsi Amphitheter(sp). Rock on Train!!!

As said a hundred times on the board, the Letterman performance left little to be desired. Y'all are so talented! I got to see you guys at the Southern Tracks show in Atlanta. What an awesome experience! I believe every performance I see will floor me. Y'all are truly the 'total package'! I can't WAIT to see you back here in May!

Out of curosity...

I noticed that Sean Hurley is mentioned in the "thank you notes" in the new album and was wondering if it's THE Sean Hurley (I'm hoping that I'm hinting this well enough) and if so, what's his connection with this album?

magick - Thu Mar 29 20:47:27 EST 2001

Tour??

Well first of all, I was wondering if Train would be coming to Michigan anytime soon? Second, on the Matchbox Twenty message board I read a post that Train would open for Matchbox Twenty in Aug/Sept. Has anyone else heard anything about this?

The rise of a great new band

I've only heard "Drops of Jupiter" on the radio. But I'll be buying this album within the next 24 hours.

When I first heard this song, I thought it was either Rolling Stones or Aerosmith. Couldn't really believe it was the Stones; 'cause this is too cerebral fro their style (but then again, they made You can't get what you want).
After being tormented by the crap and the mediocre noise that is being passed off as music over the last decade, I believed that good rock music met its end with the 80s.
But this one song burst into my life with a glow that is so refreshing. It's pure genius. I have very little doubt that the people who can make a song like this made a great album too. Am off to the stores.

Congratulations Train. Remember that you have reached astonishing heights with this song and will keep in mind the same standards in your future body of work.
Please don't sell out - Maintain your divinity and bless us with your creativity.

Drops of Jupiter

Not since the Bodeans "Say about Love", Inxs' "Don't Change", or The Tragicly Hips "38 years old" has there been a song that has touched my soul the way "Drops of Jupiter" has over the 31 years of my life. You guys are awesome, and I can't wait top see you when you come back through Saint Paul, MN. Keep up the good stuff!!!

Troy - Thu Mar 29 19:31:10 EST 2001

Take care.

rare songs

How can I go about getting hold of some of the rare and unreleased songs? Anyone know? And-- maybe the band could find a way to sell the hard-to-find stuff to those of us who support them by going to the shows? Kind of a gift to the fans, ya know?

Letterman

Damn man, do you think they could have shown Paul Schafers bald-headed ass ANYMORE? For a second there I thought he was part of the freakin band.

good job last night guys. Maybe next time they'll actually show the rest of the band for more than a second. Excellent touch having the string section there.

Kudos!

I usually don't feel the need to write to entertainers or well-known figures ... but, every so often, one must follow an impulse. I'm moved to express my excitement for your success. I'm sure it's been a long time coming, which can only make it sweeter. I talk with people all over the country and have always enjoyed sharing your music with others who have not heard of you,(yet)! More and more folks are getting on the right "track"--that's exciting. My boyfriend has been a drummer for over 20 years, so with his critical ear, I have come to appreciate really good music and to know the difference--in a matter of opinion (of course). We so completely enjoy your song writing, musical aptitude & showmanship. To put it simply ... we love your band! It doesn't hurt that you're a local Bay Area band either--we're proud! In closing, we look forward to your continued growth and wish you happiness and prosperity (we know the price of this industry). Thanks for the moving tunes, the new CD is brilliant ... every song!

Kindest regards,
Karen (the smiling brunette in the audience)

Magnificent Train!

Their has never been a group of musicians that move me as much as Train does. The way they touch my soul is so overwhelming that it leaves my head spinning. This group of men "feel" their music so deeply and it really comes across. Thank you Train. I look forward to seeing you in Petaluma, CA and hopefully SF!

Hey guys wanted to drop you a line and, (just like everyone else I'm sure), say I love the album! Great stuff. I'm in Charlotte NC and have been a big fan since the first CD came out. I'll be in Atlanta May 5h, Charleston SC on the 6h, and back in my hometown Charlotte at Treemont Music Hall on the 7th. I'll have about 10 people with me and we'll be the loud ones! Thanks again guys, on the Cd and the close venues. Keep Rockin!

Best new CD

Thank you so much for saving music. The music these days has been horrible. Drops of Jupiter is one of the best albums I have ever heard. Some albums it takes a while to warm up too, but the first time through it, I knew it was something special. Look forward to seeing you in NJ.

Rick - Thu Mar 29 10:40:50 EST 2001

Letterman

Luckily my husband taped your performance on Letterman last night for me. Needless to say y'all were your usual awesome self and you made a convert. My husband is a music "grouch" and usually does not like my favorite bands too much, but he loved Drops of Jupiter. To turn him from a Train grouch (because you took me away from him for 3 concerts so far) into a Train fan is a miracle!!! Wonders never cease!!! I think this album will catapult you to the top - best wishes!!!

Can you say smokin?

Thanks for your music Train. I saw you
guys in Allentown last May. You're right
Charlie Whiskeytown is pretty good - but
you guys are better! Your new album has
a sad kind of tone too, but also I find it
psychedelic - and it all works cause you
guys are so TOTALLY TODAY, NOW, HAPPENING!
Also I find DoJ more organized that the last
album - I mean CD - you have the more mellow
songs on the one side and a little more rocking all together on the other side. I love the
side starting with Let it Roll and I let it roll
all the way to the end of the cassette!! No
fast forwarding necessary.......THANKS!

The new cd

Does anyone know where the cd can be purchased with the bonus tracks and the extra bonus disc? With money coming my way soon I would like to try to get the full listening enjoyment for it. Hopefully without waiting for an online shipment...oh well, I all I know is I'm hooked on the song "Hopeless" and am seriously considering getting tickets the next time Train is near me.

Train on Letterman

I just about wept. This great song that people will be listening to 50 years from now, a great performance, good sound on a TV talk show (how the hell did that happen??!) and I think we can really stop worrying about these guys. Rob, Charlie, Jimmy, Pat, Scott, thanks.

Im thinking Pat has been working on his taebo kick.

The performance on Letterman rocked, but the Chicago show was much more amazing, 'cause I was in the front row watching.

I have a confession to make, I have the total hots for Charlie. And its not just cause he plays bass.........

Letterman

The performance on the Late Show ROCKED!!!! I was almost afraid to watch because I love TRAIN so much more than any band before and groups tend to either shine or suck on stage. Well, TRAIN outshined any band I have ever seen perform live! Pat's vocals were incredible, even more intense than the album tracks...and his moves were awesome. The string quartet was a perfect touch and Paul's piano intro was very Elton John. A moving performance all around....Too bad I just found out I can't see you guys live at Cajun House in April...I have to WORK and can't get out of it anyway or how....Now I know what total misery is....

Very moving`

I am VERY pleased with the new Train album! I heard the single on the radio "Drops of Jupiter" and was beating myself cause I didnt know who it was. The damn DJ never would say....the day I found out who it was, was the day the new CD came out. I hailed ass to Disc Jockey and got a copy....I absolutely love your 1st album, very moving, with heart and soul written lyrics and melodys. Your title album really helped me through some rough times, this new album is a great closer to some hard times I had to over come. You guys are awesome, thanks for the music and the touching lyrics. One more thing...put Kentucky on the map (for future tour reference) thanks a bunch

Wow, that was really cool! All right, now that I know how this works, you fans and/or band persons have got to help me. How can I get a hold of the CD shown on the site that has "Ramblin On" on it? I saw it performed live and it would be the jewel of my collection. Any tips? I will keep digging thru the site to see if I can figure it out on my own but any help would be greatly appreciated.
