Looking forward to the upcoming show in Philadelphia @the electric factory on may 11th. This is my last shot at requesting a song I would love to hear/see LIVE! And that song is: "RAT"
I heard about your new CD from a friend and I decided to pick it up. I have listened to this CD straight for like 3 days now. It's great. Every single song is awesome. Keep up the great work guys.

I have to say something on here daily or else I'll feel like I'm left out. So here it is:
I would like to see the guys expand their tour and do more of the smaller venues like they are now. Like was mentioned earlier, I'm afraid that I may never get the chance to see them again in such a more personal atmosphere than now. The fan base is growing rapidly. I wish them all the fame in the world but I don't want them to get too big just yet. Give me a little longer to enjoy the situation.

I had the utmost pleasure of attending your April 28th show at Butler. I have never been so pleased with a live show. Pat, YOU rock. I think I need to buy some poster of you just for above my bed. I love your free motion dancing. I, unfortunatly, was not one of the lucky ones to rush the stage, but you ALL were incredible.
Thank you for putting out such wonderful music. Your cover of Ramble On was out of this world!! Not many can pull off my favorite band Zepp, but you all did it famously.
Congratulations on a wonderful alubm (although I've yet to pick it up) and for being, or at least acting like, normal everyday guys who just got lucky doing what they love doing.
Hey! I will be in Toronto on May 13th. I tried to order tickets thru TicketMaster for the show at the Opera House, but was told that mailing it to me would not get here in time, and all TicketMaster locations are closed on Sunday- so I couldn't pick it up. (US TicketMaster offices are not connected) I saw TRAIN in Denver and would love to see them again. If anyone has a brilliant idea in Toronto, let me know! Many Thanks
Hey guys, just wanted to let you know that Drops of Jupitor is an awesome cd. In some way or form, your music brought me and my boyfriend together. I think it's wonderful how through music you can change people's lives- THANKS!
By the way, he saw you guys in Dallas, and said you guys totally rocked. I'll be seeing you fairly soon, May 16 to be exact, in Chicago. See ya there!
Thank you for the gift that is this cd. It is one of the most solid compilations of tunes since "Boomtown" by David and David. Definitely strikes a chord and resonates.
Train should seriously come to Minnesota this summer. You guys seem like you would be a really good live act. I have wanted to see you guys for a while, now. I just never got the chance to. Anyway, keep up the awesome work. Hope to see you guys soon in Minneapolis or St. Paul.
Judging by all the positive messages on this site regarding "Drops of Jupiter" I'm not the only one who has fallen in love with Train... If anyone knows knows any other great songs by Train, it would be greatly appreciated.
PAT TOLD ME HE NEVER AUTHORIZED A CD WITH THOSE TUNES ON THEM.....AS MUCH AS I'D LOVE TO HAVE SHARKS, I WONT HURT THE BAND BY SUPPORTING THE VULTURES PRAYING ON THEIR SUCESS
I think TRAIN IS AWESOME...and well I think there interaction with fans is awesome this site is great and I mean not many bands that I have heard of do what train does for there fans I think some bands need to do more...and well I just want to thank the guys for being who they are...and caring so much about there fans
well I didn't realize this site existed until my friend told me about it...I mean I saw train for the first time last month in Austin and I didn't really realize how great they were until I saw them perform...the captured me from the moment Pat started singing "meet virginia" I looked at my friend and I was like WOW...I mean they are great and I am glad I got to see them at the private performance...I thank Train for being so powerful with there music..Thanks guys...Bridgette

The performance at River Stages was awesome! I definately want to go buy 'Drops of Jupiter' now. I love that song, it's beautiful. Hope to see ya'll next year!
A very informed person wrote about this on the other Train message site, so I'll pass it along ...
If you are looking for "Sharks" and want to order what I consider a "find", go to www.medazzaland.net to locate what they are calling the "Drops of Jupiter single" which includes "It's Love", "This is Not Your Life" and "Sharks". $9.00
It cracks me up that they call Train an "Alt-country act". Too funny!
Amazingly intense how these musicians reach the audience with amplified sound combined with some down home "rip your heart out, go about your business and let the sun shine" lyrics.
Finally, Train is reaching a plateau within a cut-throat industry, fellow musicians and of course, the FANS! Or maybe, its just because Pat is one hell of a babe! Tis true, but not the reason for their well deserved recognition.
Trains' Midtown Music performance was, to say the least or even the most, pending if your an optimist or pessimist; a multitude of earthshattering climactics.
I know Jimmy is closer to 35...so using that as a start and using my little tucked away facts...i'd guess that Charlie is about the same...like 34...Pat and Rob i'd say are 33 and Scott around 29-30...

Midtown was awesome y'all
The show Sat. at Music Midtown was killer. Loved the new stuff live. "Ramble On" was awesome too. Look forward to the next time y'all are in Atlanta.
Not that it hasn't already been said a million times (and I'm NOT exaggerating), but yeah, this band rocks! DOJ is magic. For all those TRAIN fans out there that were unable to purchase tickets to see the band in their hometown or miss the small quaint venue's they play in....come north of the border. Toronto, Canada for Sunday May 13th!! The exposure is growing but they still don't have the audience they get down there. Their time is coming....but for now, I'll continue to enjoy the smaller venue's & intimacy they bring to each & every show. Cheers & Beers boyz....thanks for the music. brucey ;)

Hey guys. I just wanted to let everyone know that Drops of Jupiter is great. I listen to the cd everyday, I just can't get enough of it. It's great. Keep up the good work guys I look forward to many more great albums like this one.
I saw you guys last year at the House of Blues in Chicago, you left me breathless. I drove down to Atlanta and you took my air again. I am happy for your success but I must admit I did enjoy the intimacy that I had with you for three years. Now everyone knows and you must perform, I understand. Mississippi, that song does something to me by the way, how do you do that? I plan to see you many times to come and can't wait for your next album. Pat did you see me in Atlanta, right side, long brown hair, glasses, one of the few not moshing? Good show fellas! Pat I saw you look up into that beautiful Atlanta sky that night when you did "Let it Roll", don't worry, she knows! sm
I just wanted to thank you guys for such a wonderful show at Music Midtown Saturday night. It was a bittersweet moment - realizing that now 100,000+ people were really enjoying such a great band (that I had grown to love in small club-like venues) and that I will probably never again be able to see them up close and personal. :-( I'm guessing that there are way to many Atlanta area fans now that a night at the Variety Playhouse or Smith's Olde Bar may never happen again - but it is great to see the best band on their way to the top!!! Best wishes to you guys and thanks again for such a spectacular show!
i recenty did a whole report on your band and the song drops of jupiter.. i just wanted you to know i think you guys are awsome and i hope you keep making great songs :) i learnt alot about u! well have a good day *hugs*
I've noticed on at least two songs (most recently on "Meet Virginia", and the missing line from the first verse "...smokes a pack a day, wait that's me even anyway, she doesn't care a thing about that hey, she thinks I'm beautiful.") that have lyrics posted on here that they aren't the exact same as what's on the CD. I've also seen the hand-written pages that accompany this, and they're the same way. Anyone know why? Just curious....
Well, since you asked, here goes. Other bands I listen to a lot are Live, Led Zeppelin, Metallica (Black Album and before), Tool, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, and Pink Floyd. I've also recently gotten into David Gray, Jeff Buckley, and Bob Schneider. Never heard any of Bob's stuff till I saw him open for Train and he was damn awesome.
Your thoughts We saw at the varsity theater in baton rouge, la and loved the show. we have turned all of our friends and family on to train and to many of them Train is their best cd. We will be in sf and the wine country in above dates and seeing train would highligth the trip. Hope to see you when we are on vacation. dent
i've listened to a lot of music for a lot of years. rarely i find a gem that i want to hold onto. drops of jupiter is a heartbreakingly beautiful song, put together with stream of conciousness thoughts, visions of love, hope and optimism and superb production. wow, i love this tune.
I just wanted to write you guys and tell you that I think Drops of Jupiter is one of the best albums to be released in a very long time. Congratulations! I really mean it. I am 47 years old, and have been an avid rock fan since the Beatles first arrived (it sounds kind of corny when I say it that way). Just keep doing what you're doing, and you will go a long way. Come play in Calgary soon, please.
Your thoughts: I love your new CD and can't get any of the songs out of my head! My husband and I saw you perform on your first tour date in April at Butler University in Indianapolis and it was an AWESOME performance! Please come back to Indy again, I love you guys! Patrick, you are a great singer and I love your voice! Thanks for everything.
Your cd is incredible.....not to mention how you guys look. I was just wondering when your coming to Las Vegas. I live in a small town about 100 miles from there and that is the closest biggest city to me. So guys, when ya conin' my way?
I just bought the CD from Train. It is the best CD I have bought in a long long time. Drops of Jupiter is an unbelievable cut. The whole CD is FAMTASTIC. Thanks for making some great music again!!!

Subject of your message tour dates in colorado?
Your thoughts I'm a big fan, and I wanted to know if and when you will be touring in Colorado?
*L* I was wondering this same thing myself, but didn't ask for fear of sounding like I was hopeful they were within my reach. ^^ But I was assuming, just by physical appearances alone, that they were all in their thirties. But wow, 38? If that's true (for, who was it? Rob?), then he looks extremely good for his age... I never would have guessed....
Thank you guys SOOO much for playing in Greencastle, Indiana! We're such a small town, and we hardly ever get popular bands (like you!) to perform here! Thank you so much!
But I regret to inform you: I missed it! So please plan another trip up here very very soon! I love you guys!!!
-Rinoa- (I missed you while I was looking for myself out there) ;)
I love "Drops of Jupiter"! It's, like, the best song I've heard in a very long time! I read all about how you guys made it, and it's amazing! Keep up the good work! (PS: The strings sound really nice in this song. You should use them in songs to come!)
I see everyone is into guessing about the MEN of train's ages. So I guess I'll take a stab at it. Pat I think he's around 31 Charlie about 30 Scott is right around probably 30 too Rob is maybe 33 and maybe Jimmy is close to 32. I guess I think they're all in thier 30's. Yeah. I hope I'm close. ;) Thanx
I just wanted to say how thrilled I am that you are finally touring with matchbox. I have been a Train fan for many years [thanks to matchbox20 - who introduced me to Train's music] I have waited for this tour a long time. Now it is finally happening two GREAT bands [well there will be three bands - so I hear] on the same bill. I can't wait. :)
Have you ever read the short story called "A Rose for Emily" by William Faulkner? I found that and Virgin Suicides very similiar...almost did a paper on that for one of my English classes but alas, I don't own the book. But it is an awesome book. :)
Regarding ages, the last time I heard, Jimmy's 37; and I think that he had a birthday recently so that would make him... 38?
I think you happy TRAIN guys should consider doing a concert at THE COACH HOUSE in San Clemente California. It is a small place but many big stars such as yourselves go there! :)
I would be the first in line to come see you play!
Anyway.......just a thought.... P.s....if you DO consider this. Please tell me first so I can get a ticket befor
Hey u guys...I am writing to you all the way from St. John's, Newfoundland Canada (what a mouthful..ha). I just wanted to let you know that your album is definitely one of the best I have heard in a long time. What talent! What voices and lyrics! Your music takes me to my 'happy place'- ha ha. Although I probably won't get to see u in concert (because our city is too small- boo hoo), I wish you all the best and be sure to keep those awesome songs coming. Lots of Hugz from Canada,
I am in love with Train. This is the very best. Drops of Jupiter is just a great as the first CD. I am impressed with all the diverse sounds. I love it.
Anyone else going to the Chicago show on the 16th?
Hey,
Is anyone reading this going to the Chicago show? Y'all should be in for a great time. I saw Train in Indianapolis a week ago and they have a tight show in store.
Incidentally Monika, I watched the "Virgin Suicides" movie because of Scott's T-Shirt. Call me impressionable, but I had a weekend off and I needed a movie to rent. Nothing like re-living a little childhood angst to the Nth degree...
Hey- Just looking at the Train homepage and saw one of the band members with a Virgin Suicides tshirt. That was a damn good book and movie. Anyone else agree? Oh well it makes me happy that we have something in common. Peace, monika
TRAIN I LOVE YOUR SONGS COME TO NASHVILL and Drop of jupiter is the best song.it reminds me my exgirlfriend.os make a song call lydia.the thing is that lydia is hage a round the wrong pepole. i gust wont the best 4 her.
Yall put on a great show last night. This is the second time I have seen you in concert and loved you each time. The last time you were in Atlanta with Star 94 Parkfest April 1, 2000. Glad to see you again and look foward to see you again.
Damn it! I didn't even think about the guys' ages, and now I want to know. Not that it matters really. I did see the post about Pat graduating in 87, so I guess he'd be about 32, huh? Not that it matters...REALLY
My goodness... You guys just do'nt stop, do ya? Man... I wanna get kidnapped by ya'll and live happily ever after... *eyes closed, and legs crossed* And I still dream of being there at soundcheck and getting more beer cuz you drank too fast... I'll see all of ya again, even if just in my dreams. And I hear your music every day, so.. I'm set till next time. Thank you all for the nice pics online, all of ya look splendid, just like I remember. I'm not in stupid New Hampshire anymore, now I'm in stupid Shreveport, LA. But I'm phenin' for Atlanta! But, hey, I'm sure you'd all agree DREAMS DO COME TRUE!!!!! See ya soon. Bre (the tae-bo chick..)
Said, you guys are so fine, I just love it, keep up the goood music ! Im here in Tennessee,in a little ole' town called Pleasant Hill, in between Sparta and Crossville. 70 miles north of chattanooga- 90 miles east of Nashville- 90 miles west of Knoxville. Home grown.
Hey, really dig the new stuff. Wondering if anyone has tab or knows the progression to "She's on Fire" or any other songs on the new album. Please email if you do--Rock on!
Hi my name is Michelle, and I'm all the way from New Zealand. I'm just writing to say how much I love your song Drops of Jupiter!!! It has just recently started playing on our radio stations here. It is the most beautiful song I have ever heard! I had never heard of the band Train till I heard this song. You have an awesome voice and the song sends chills up my spine whenever I hear it. I make sure when ever it is on the radio I turn up the volume to its blaring!!! I will definately buy the CD when it comes into music stores in New Zealand but until then I will enjoy hearing it whenever it is palyed on the radio. Thank you for making sure a beautiful song- I love it so much!!! Keep the songs coming because you guys are so talented!!!! Best wishes Michelle- NZ
Hello Guys! I just wanted to let you know that my husband and I went to Riverstages last night to see you play...You were the reason that we went...We love your CD and play it all the time when we travel which is most of the time...Drops of Jupiter is an awesome song and when we first heard it we requested it by calling all the radio stations we could as we traveled...You would be happy to know that all the DJs that we spoke with Loved It!! I only wish that it would reach #1 for you...We had never been to Riverstages before last night although we live in Franklin Tn just south of Nashville about 20 miles...we always had to work when it was going on before so we didnt get to go to it...Also if we had know that you were playing there for the 3rd yr we would have been there every yr!! Just loved it..Of all the bands we heard last night we enjoyed you guys the most...The Wallflowers were supposed to be the top bill band last night but you all out did them by a long shot!! I wont bore you anymore with my comments...but I would like to let you know that the next time that I hear of you playing anywhere near us we will certainly be there for the show!! Thanks so much for sharing your musical talents with us...we wish you much much success in the future!! Jamie and Mark Dalton P.S. Love Shes on Fire!! Any chance it will be the next single???
I wrote in a couple of nights ago telling you how completley awesome and inspiring you guys are. now that I have seen you live it just confirms it. Your version of Ramble On was better than Zepplin's. Please come back to Atlanta soon.
I was wondering that if anyone is going to the Clifton Park, NY show (at Northern Lights), please e-mail me. I can't get into the show and would love a bootleg. I've posted a few times and NO ONE will get back to me. Help me!!
hey- i was just wondering when the train/matchbox20 dates were going to be announced and when we would be able to get tickets, if anyone knows, please email me....thanks a bunch anet :)
Just wanted to say that Drops of Jupiter is the best cd I have listened to in a long time. I like every track on it. If Train tours with Matchbox 20 this summer I hope that it is Matchbox 20 that opens for Train and not the other way aound. I am going to check Train out this week in CT. I can't wait.
I belive that the band members ages are as follows: Rob 39 Scott 29 Charlie 34 Pat 32 Jimmy 37 Don't quote me on these ages. I believe that they are within a year or so either way. ~Baby~
I love your music! Meet Virginia was the cutest song! Anyway. . . . You sound a lot like Tonic but different. (did that make sense?) I dunno but i love tonic too and the Wallflowers kick ass, but you guys are "new" so you have a fresh sound.

Ok, I really have nothing productive to say but I want to say something anyway.
I hope to see the guys in Pontic and then again in Chicago. I'm working on getting things arranged so that it will be possible for me to attend both. One concert just isn't enough for me.:)
I just got my pictures back from the Indianapolis concert and I'm very disappointed. I accidentally used the wrong film and none of my pictures came out. I'll survive but I always like to have pictures to remember exactly what the band looked like at the moment.
I hope everyone in the Train community is having great experiences at all their concerts.
I think that Drops of Jupiter is one of the best CDs I have bought in the last 5 years. Keep up the awesome work. I hope you play a show in Minnesota sometime soon. RESPECT is a great song, by the way.
Just wanted to say that I am glad to see some older fans of Train out there. I am a 37 year old female (still looking not too shabby) - have listened to alot of great bands and I put Train right up there. The last concert I went to was a Collective Soul concert not quite a year ago and I thought I was going to be really out of place. To my surprise, while standing in line, most of the crowd in my immediate view seemed to be in my age group. It was an awesome concert, although some of us so called "more mature" people still can't handle there alcohol (not speaking of myself). We rocked at C.S. When seeing Train recently felt the same way but better (were lucky enough to see them in the front row). To my amazement most of the crowd sat through the concert being all prim and proper (they were there to see Shawn Colvin and John Hiatt - NOT ME!). I thought, screw it, and boogied through the whole concert. Thanks Train for making that night so much fun. I'm so glad that you never get too old for good rock and roll. My new sayings are "what is.. is" and "just be". I won't worry about being beyond those good times again. Just out of curiousity - how old are the members of the band anyway? Does anyone know? The remakes that they do (Ramblin' On) and the ones I believe I have heard they might do (possibly Van Halen, Cheap Trick?) are from my high school days. Would love it. A suggestion of Cheap Trick would be something from their "In Color" album (oops - CD). It is really good. Anyway, rock on Train!
One last thing - on your new CD, the song "Something More" - the instrumental (violins) remind me of Led Z's "In Through the Out Door" - the song "All of My Love". Was there any influence of that song when writing this one? Just curious.
Love you all - can't seem to get you out of my CD player! Shelly
I live your music! "Drops Of Jupiter" is my favourite (I suppose you've heard that before!), it's nice to hear some good music coming out for a change. All I've been hearing is the same old drum machine Brittany Spears/Janet Jackson crap----I hate to insult them like that but they need to get a life! I like the unique style your music contains. You do sound a lot like the Beatles. I like R.E.M. and Bruce Cockburn as well as you. I also like a lot of oldies. Considering my age, I'm a complete outcast in my school----good! Any way, to get to the point, keep up the good work, it's obvious that you've survived the softmore jynx----good for you and congradulations on your new hit album----and here's a wish for many more to come! Write me back when you get the chance! Your fan, K.C.
Hey Jimmy...remember the days of Royal Star in good 'ol Morris Illinois. I actually took guitar lessons from you for two years at the bike shop. Wish I would have practiced more :) Love your albums and really happy to see you doing so well. I follow the charts now because if anyone deserves success..you do! Best of luck on tour!
I've loved the song "Drops of Jupiter" for months now, but I finally got down to buying the CD today. I'm glad that I did! It's awesome! Unfortunately, I couldn't make it to Music Midtown in Atlanta this weekend. But, I'm going to make it goal to see the guys in concert one day. It's great to hear real musicians play great music...you defintely have a fan in me!
Well I heard a rumor that Train is going to be touring with Matchbox 20. I know that i would love to see that tour and if anyone has any info on it just to send it to me.
My mother loves that Train song, Drops from Jupitor. She blasts the radio, everytime she hears it playing in the car. I must admitt...It has grown on me.
Last Friday, I went to the Matchbox 20 concert(Matchbox 20 looked REALLY gay in the tight leather pants),and Lifehouse was backing them up. (Would have preferred Matchbox 20 backing up Lifehouse) But, It was the most wickedess experience i've ever had. After LifeHouse, had finished their part of the concert, they stood outside in the hallway of the Corel centre, and signed autographs. By the time I realized that's what was going on, it was too late to get into line. Anyways, I stood there, looking at them signing autographs when Jayson, *lead singer* looked up, and smiled at me. I stared at him until he left, and even followed him to his limo. Unfortunately, that's where it ends. Next time Lifhouse is in Ottawa, I think i'll find Jaysons' hotel, and rape him. HaHa!
As someone whose life is organized by "which Mix Tape was playing when", Drops of Jupiter has come to embody the spring of 2001. I haven't bought your album yet but I think I will when I get rich. And even though I'm moving next Sunday, I will check you out at The Opera House if things go well. So see you in Toronto!
Last night in Nashville was wonderful. I am still pondering why ya'll opened up for the Wallflowers and not the other way around. Last night was really fun, I enjoyed Ramble ON & Free most of all. Some strange girl asked to get on my shoulders during She's on Fire and somehow got Pat's autograph. Then I caught Pat's waterbottle, but since I am a true Southern Gentleman, I gave it to this nice lady standing beside me. You guys really had the crowd into it, thanks for coming to Nashville. I'll be looking forward to seeing you all again.
P.S. If that strange girl ends up reading this, how about sending me an email :)
Thank you so much for coming to Nashville River Stages. I am so glad I had a chance to catch your show. I was really impressed with your guitarist and his slide work. Can't wait for you to come back to Nashville. I will definately be there.
I just wanted to let you guys know that I absolutely love you. You are my all time favorite band. You have such an original sound that no band can even come close to. I've never heard anyone like you. I can't wait until you come anywhere close to where I live...I will definitely be there, no questions asked. I would give anything to have been able to go to Music Midtown, but I couldn't. I love you guys and I just wanted you to know how much I love your music.
Hey guys...awesome show last night at Riverstages! I was totally blown away, the music is great on the cd, but (of course) a hundred times better live. Pat- stage presence was amazing... I WANT YOUR JEANS!! (lol) It was a great time... Keep on rockin' & don't forget to come back to Nashville, TN!!! (soon!)
WOW! You guys were incredible last night! I couldn't help but think how things had changed since the first time I saw you guys in Nashville three years ago. I could not believe what a huge crowd was there last night. I have seen every show you've played here and they are all the same-great! Pat- you have such an incredible personality on stage. I know you guys are probably too big now, but I would love to see you at the Exit/Inn one last time.
Hey Guys! I have a favor. I am your #1 fan, I have been for almost three years. And I drove from Illinois to Atlanta to see you again. Your amazing. So please in your journal will you say hi to me, sm, just to let me know you are closer than imagined? Thanks guys, don't stop. sm Please post on May 16th, my birthday, couldn't get tickets for your Chicago show. sm
I first saw Train last April in Chicago, Illinois at the House Of Blues. I took the train by myself downtown from the suburbs, had dinner there and I was the 1st one in the door, I was standing center stage, floor, my stomach leaning on the rails. I was exhilirated, inspired, touched, in love, moved, nervous, impressed, and most of all, the thing that I can never do is EXPLAIN to people how it felt. When I get those feelings, It's hard for me to come back down. sm
Saw your show in Petaluma and can't wait to see you at the Warfield on May 26. Drops of Jupiter is amazing. Have been playin the CD regularly in my office and people stop in and ask who is singing. Creating a lot more TRAIN fans!! See you at the Warfield.
I'm not sure if you guys even read this board...but if you do I guess you have heard it all! I saw the Tuesday show in Birmingham at 5 points Music Hall....your show was so amazing!! I want to say thanks for putting out music that has true meaning and heart. It's more than just notes and words on a page to you and to your fans......keep up the great work!
Thanks again for the autographs on my childrens pictures. You made two children very happy!!! Also thanks for our autographs as well!! The pictures came back and they were great! Next time yall are in town be sure to look us up and we'll be glad to do the laundry and the cooking as you requested on 107.7 the X. Followed yall back to the hotel Raddison but couldn't get Jessica to pull in and offer to show you some good ole' southern hospitality. It's truly the only way to find out if Pat really can move like that all the time or just on stage. If you need the extra practice just let us know. Tell Rob that Jessica said yes they have met before and of course she would love to have at least twelve of his children.(fertile Alabama breeding stock-ha-ha!!) We know that yall are busy, but write back if you have a chance. Good luck, we know that only great things will happen for you all from here on out.
I was just bored so I decided to post a message. I looooooooooooove Train's new song, "Drops of Jupiter!" I could listen to it all day long....and I would if I had money to buy the CD or if I could find the MP3.
But anyway, they have kewl music and they are really really really hott! They're video for Drops of Jupiter is OK, but I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE the song!!!!!!!!! Anywayz, I think I've written enough.
Oh yeah, I really really need some short, fun facts about Train cuz I'm doing an article about the band and I don't have enough time to do some hard core research. Email me with anything that might help. I'll give you credit for the info on my site. THANK YOU!!! Have a nice day!
Dudes! When are you coming back to the Twin Cities!? I can't get your CD out of my player, and my best friend and I are ready for an awesome concert like the one we saw last year at the Basilica Block Party. You know Minneapolis loves you! Come on, guys...please? You've hit major chords with this Drops of Jupitor CD, by the way. Even my picky, middle-aged father is digging it. Good work! See you soon?
Oh my gosh. I loooooove my orange tank top, it will be worn out by the end of summer by me wearing it so much.
I also ordered and received the dark blue tank top that was discounted on the website. THEY FIT PERFECTLY. FINALLY. I am so sick of boy shirts that make me look like I am getting ready for PE CLASS IN JUNIOR HIGH OR SOMETHING. I am a small boned girl and I look like a slob in boy shirts.
TRAIN TAKES CARE OF THEIR FEMALE FANS. :) GRACIAS.
GREAT MUSIC Drops of Jupiter is the best. Can't wait to see you live again. Hope to catch you the 20th at Lupo's in Providence. I'm taking my 17 year old daughter your music covers all ages.I'm just glad I can turn her on to good music keep up the great work. Terri Rhode Island

I am in Nashville tonite and will be making my way down to Riverfront Park to see you guys there tonite!!!!! I cannot wait! I also wanted to say that every song on your Drops of Jupiter CD is a direct reflection on my life and I can totally relate to all of it!!!! THANKS AGAIN!!!!!!! Keep rockin!!!!
I have just found TRAIN and i wondered if there were any other fans in the UK. Are TRAIN doing any promotional work in the UK as us Brits have been starved of ant decent music other than the Stereophonics and The Divine Comedy.
A belated thank you for an incredible show at McNear's in Peteluma in April (Bob Schneider was fantastic as well.) We're still talking about a month later.
Everything that evening had a charm about it (like a scene from "Almost Famous" <-- no insult intended...) The music was inspired, McNear's as laid back as ever. Everyone sharing the vibe.
Denise and I went in well after the doors opened (hate to leave beers unfinished...) and still were able to stroll to the stage. Turns out Charlie's beaming Mom (who proudly introduced herself to us after his somewhat schnockerd hulk of brother plowed his way through us during the encore) were behind us most of the show. It all added to the magic. Then to stroll to the car through sleepy Peteluma on a perfect California Spring night. Awesome.
The night equaled seeing Mick Jagger jam late night with Buddy Guy at Kingston Mines in the 80's. It was that good. Thanks again, guys.
HI... I just read your last update. I have a really good friend in Nashville, he's the drummer for Faith Hill (Trey) You guys have such a great sound.... Keep up the good work!!! I am not one of your younger teenage fans, does that still count???
this one's too easy. You wrote: "Is it my fault that I deleted my confirmation email because I have such faith in Ticketmaster and thought that they wouldn't screw up?"
YES!!!!
that's perhaps the stupidest thing you could have done, putting "faith" in ticketslutfucker, the worst fucking monopoly that exists in this country!!! and why can they do things like say, "Too bad!" to you and not think twice about it?!? because what is anybody going to do about it?!?!? NOTHING!!!!
i fucking hate ticketbastard more than any other corporate bullshit that exists in our society. gotta love the "convenience" charges exceeding 30% of face value that make it so convenient for us to see a rock show at a horrible venue where your seats suck and sound quality is shit for a mere $70. (not talking Train, think DMB for now.) but why is it possible for those prices? because we all continue to pay these escalating amounts!!! but what are we supposed to do, not buy tickets to see our favorite bands?!? but we REALLY want to see our favorite bands, we can't do that!!!!
if only some other bands stepped up to help the very valiant effort that was Pearl Jam's trip to Congress in 1995 regarding the ticketbastard monopoly issue.
but that's where bands like the Dave Matthews Band can be held responsible. because they're partially responsible for pushing up the ticket prices. i mean, seriously, why should we pay $70 to see DMB play at a frickin' football stadium?!? why is it that Pearl Jam, a band who could charge ANY dollar amount and still fill any venue in the world, only charged us $30 a ticket on their tour last year??? because they actually care about their fans!!!
but that's all just the tip of the proverbial iceberg....
WHOA! all that ranting because some kid can't get into the Train show in Philly? sorry about that.
now back to your regularly schedule "i love you Train" posts and the ensuing "where can i find lyrics to Drops of Jupiter because i'm too stupid to actually look through the site i'm viewing before i posted this stupid message?" messages.
sorry about the harsh language for all the little girls reading this out-of-control message board.
Your group was just hear in Alabama May 2. I wasn't able to go cause I had to work :( but i've got your Drops of Jupitor Album and I wouldn't give nothing in the world for it. I really hate that I miss you all in concert. Cause I really wanted to go. Hopefully you will come again soon!!! Your Great!! Sally H
One of the worst feelings in the world is what I'm feeling right now...that sense of elation knowing that one's going to see his favorite band perform live and the excitement that builds up to that day is suddenly crushed by the realization that he doesn't have tickets to this show despite the fact he THOUGHT that he did.
I called Ticketmaster today...and had this interesting half screaming battle with them and they basically said that Ticketmaster doesn't make any mistakes, etc. ,etc. And no, they can't squeeze two more people into the sold out show. Is it my fault that after hitting the "Send" button that all of the information goes "poof" into cyberspace? Is it my fault that I deleted my confirmation email because I have such faith in Ticketmaster and thought that they wouldn't screw up?
Sorry about me ranting...I'm just so upset right now. I have been looking forward to this for the longest time. Train's songs mean SO much to me--almost all of them are relative to a time of my life (especially Let it Roll). If any kind souls out there have two spare tickets to the May 11th Philiadelphia show or have any sort of advice (other than taking a AK-47 at Ticketmaster) please PLEASE reply.
My hands hasn't stopped shaking ever since finding this out...it's harsh when all of your expectations come crumbling down in one brief second. Now what the heck am I supposed to do with my gifts for Train? :X
You guys are really awesome. I listen to drops of jupiter everyday. It has become my theme song.I absolutly love that song.Anyways, I liked you guys back when "Meet virginia"was released. I am totally digging your sytle. Keep the music alive and I'll see you guys Saturday in the ATL @ MusicMidtown.
Hey guys, you gotta try this, it's so funny! Take all your live footage of Train performances from talk shows etc. and turn on closed captioning on your TV. If you thought YOU were bad at deciphering lyrics, check out these different interpretations from the Rosie O'Donnell show alone:
Since the return of a Sailor Moon...
and
The best soy latte that you ever had IN ME?!?
Grrrossss!! Hahaha!
What's funny though, is that for all the lyrical mistakes they make, NOBODY ever put the "Van Halen" misheard lyric.
We drove 200 miles to see you all, and it was worth the trip. You were awsome. And we are old hands at r&r concerts. We are in our 40's.Kind of felt out of place because most of the crowd was 20's or less. They treated us with lots of respect though and I was suprised. But most southern people are raised like that even in the city. I wish I know more about the bands history. They seem so mature.Their music is the kind that will cross generational lines and last forever if they don't change their style. It's classic.Believe me We were there when it all started back in the 60's and 70's.Train has found the formula to last in the music business. I would love to meet them, but I know that is a pipe dream because they are going to be so big after this tour that they will have a hard time going out in public.Their faces will be known all over the world. I'm so glad we got to see them before the whole world takes them in their hearts. It's about to happen.I hope they are ready for the ride. Train Fan Georgia Bruff Hamilton, Ms
Just wanted to say that my wife and I love the new CD. We saw you in W. Springfield,Ma last year at the fair, and despite the small crowd, the show was great. We are looking forward to seeing you at the Webster next week. Do you know if you are doing any promo stuff for Radio104, the station promoting the show, or with Dee Snider (yeah the Twisted Sister Guy) he's their morning show jock? Finally, any plans for Hartford, or is it a quick stop? See you next week.
Just listening to the cd "Drops.." and i love it and your voice! I missed your show in Denver (not by choice) and I am glad that you are coming back to Co. in Sept/Oct?? I want to meet you if it's possible. Maybe by chance, I have family in the business too,: in fact Marty Lloyd was at the Gothic (Denver)a few weeks before you guys. He used to be with the Freddy Jones Band. I love your style and I am a diehard Ed Roland fan from collective soul.I have good taste and know your band is rising fast and will continue for sometime, maybe a long time- let's hope.Your words and melodies are beautiful, thanks for sharing them with us. I am sorry about your Mother. She will be with you always. Take care Kate
I'm trying to get my own web site together ... but I don't want it to be like all the other ones about my last vacation, my new garden plant ... etc ... I want it to be about music ... About the music nobdy knows of ...
I suppose, TRAIN don't fit into this category anymore ... yet, this kind of music is what I want people to know ...
Any input from your side is highly appreciated ... I'm not sure whether i can post my web site here (and I'd rather not have you come by after you've been here, cause mine is really emberassing. Design-wise ... but I'm working on it ...)
If you have anything to say ... please e-mail me at savethemusic@usa.com ...
And to make this not totally off-topic: TRAIN are awesome ... it's the kind of music that is able to change lives ... to open our eyes and to make us see ourselves ... I hope, there'll be more to come. Lots more ...
Train fans! and the guys from train...4 friends and I went to see train at 5 points music hall tuesday night, may 1, 2001. We were late and the show had already sold out so we basically were kicked out, which pissed us off. We were talking to a street seller and he wanted a buttload of money for only two tickets...we wanted to see them bad but we didnt have ANY money. So brittany, one of the friends, and I walk over to the back window...there is a bouncer with a staff shirt on! We automatically show him our X's which showed we had been in but couldnt get through the ticket line. I was screaming at him through the window to see if he could help us out and find us some tickets or let us in...he opened the door and let us walk in free!!! we SHIT our pants! Now I have finally seen train with my best friends in the whole world and I have pictures!!! I would just like to say that I thank train for coming to b-ham, even though I live in Dekalb County about 2 hours away...I thank you sooo much and love you deeply! I cant wait to see you again hopefully at riverstages! Thank you, Abby and Brittany the 2 chicks with cowboy hats on! WE LOVE YOU TRAIN!
I would first like to start by telling two stories that are really cool(in my opinion) I was out the other day and bought the Drop's of Jupiter CD and of course brought it home to listen to it.Well I left for work the next morning and left the CD here (at my dad's House who is 57). I spend Tuesday and Wednesday's at my boyfriend's house so today(Thursday). I get home and my dad comes to me and say's that is the best CD I have eer heard,of course I asked him what he meant and he told me he had listened to my Train CD. Now if a very out of touch 57 year old say's the CD rocks, then you guys have made something to really be proud of.
Also, If you did not already know this you guy's are huge in Greece my family is Greek I have lived in Atlanta my whole life (going to Music Midtown Can't wait to see you guys') But anyway. My sister just went to Greece to visit my mom and you guy's are huge she said no one knows what any of the songs mean but they know every word anyway. That is also something I think is really cool,I read all the messages people wrote on here. With this many fans you guys will be huge for a very long time..
There isnt really a whole lot to do in Nashville. 2nd Ave is a nice place to walk around and get a drink. Lot of bars and clubs along through there. I am looking forward to seeing ya'll tomorrow at Riverstages. Expect to see me in the front row, I'll be wearing red glasses and probaly be singing along with every song. Please play Hopeless, that's a beautiful song. Cya tomorrow!
How come i dont see in tour dates in the mid-west? Chicago is as close as you come to me, minneapolis, and i dont know if i can swing the 8 hour drive to see the show. Should be a date close.
The Indianapolis show which kicked off your Drops of Jupiter tour was most impressive. I've been attending concerts since 1974, and have seen many bands perform live...
Train ranks among the top 10 concerts I've attended for one reason: the band together has the magic it takes to make it, and Pat Monahan is so comfortable with himself, his live performance is mesmerizing. Stick with your style...it works, beautifully. For days, I've relived watching that awesomely natural movement...pure magic.
Today I got my credit card statement and found it unusual that the purchase that I made at Ticketmaster didn't show up. So I went to the link, searched for my account...and found out that I didn't purchase the tickets.
I went through all of the necessary steps...and somewhere along the line, Ticketbastards went apeshit and screwed me over somewhere. So I go back to to Ticketbastards to purchase tickets for the Philly show...only to find out that it has been sold out...
I'm calling Ticketbastards tomorrow...but until then, is there any kind souls out there that has two extra tickets? Or could help in some shape or form???
Congrats guys on your sucess. The new album rocks. Scott...looking forward to saying hi again at the show at Northern Lights 5/12. You guys toured Australia? Sweeeeeeeeet. Hope it keeps on rollin' fellas.
Just wanted to say that the show you played in Indianapolis on Saturday night was awesome! I thought you did an excellent job of displaying your various talents and relating to the crowd.
YOUR SONG "DROPS OF JUPITER" IS GREAT!!! ME AND FRIENDS LOVE IT AND THINK IT IS THE BEST WRITTEN SONG OUT. IT HAS A GREAT STORY TO TELL IF YOU REALLY LISTEN TO THE LYRICS. THANKS FOR A GREAT SONG!!! YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME!!!!!!!
I have been talking about you guys ever since I went to a Hootie and the Blowfish concert which you opened for two years ago. I wished that they would have opened for you! I automatically fell in love with your music and ran out to buy "train." I was so excited to find out that "drops of jupiter" was in stores. The music on it is wonderful, especially "she's on fire" and "it's about you." I didn't realize that you were playing in Indy last Saturday. I think I would have ditched all plans to see you perform again. Here's to hoping!
i almost had a heart attack when i saw your post. my name is shani too! wow! either that, or someone is playing a prank on me-e-mail me, i'd really like to know.
I don't want to give away my secret for trying to get close, but we could at least start the Train chant near time for them to come on!!! That way we'll all be fired up.
TRAIN!!! TRAIN!!! TRAIN!!! ;-)
Also, I think we need to have as many lighters fired up as possible during Drops of Jupiter to remind us of the Milky Way!!!
Anyone up for meeting in a general area before the TRAIN show on Saturday? We could show our support for Pat, Jimmy, Charlie, Rob, and Scott en mass. Thoughts?
Hey guys - I'm planning on seeing you at the Paradise in Boston next week, and I'm really looking forward. I just saw a show there a few days ago and was thinking how cool a Train show will be. See you Wednesday.
We saw Train in Dallas, they were sooo cool! Not only did the show blow us away, but we listened to their soundcheck from outside, then on top of that we got to meet them! They were all so nice. They are really good to the fans and pets! For which we will forever be grateful.
I never do this but I wanted to send a message of thanks to Train for making a brillent CD. These songs remind me of lazy summer days on a patio somewhere with a cold drink. See you in Vancouver, BC.
Your thoughts: MAY 3, 2001 I ATTENDED THE BIRMINGHAM SHOW LAST NIGHT - I WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO TELL YOU HOW GREAT YOU WERE - THERES JUST NOT ENOUGH WORDS TO DESCRIBE IT. YOU GUYS ARE "THE BEST" LIVE BAND I HAVE EVER SEEN. WASN'T TOO SURE ABOUT THE NEW CD UNTIL LAST NIGHT AND NOW I KNOW IT WILL BE ALL THAT I LISTEN TO - IN FACT I'M LISTENING TO IT AS I TYPE THIS. I'VE SEEN YOU ONCE BEFORE LAST NIGHT BUT I HAVE TO SAY LAST NIGHT WAS JUST...NICE AND SWEATY!! GOING TO NASHVILLE FOR RIVER STAGES - HOPE TO GET EVEN SWEATIER! HOPE YOU GUYS COME BACK TO BHAM SOON!
Just a note to Trainspotter from May 3 response to me - you are absolutely right. I feel exactly the same way about music and I listen to a wide range depending on my mood. Music has a way of taking a single moment and turning it into something else. Everyone expresses themself differently. So . . . I apologize if I have offended anyone with my comment. I am generally open minded and mentioned to someone earlier to be the same way. If I make a blunder, I own it - so John, Trainspotter, Train - please accept my apology. Thank you for the enlightment. A fan is a fan is a fan.
Hey.....here's an idea! Lets all call Heather(waiting in charlotte-post) and rack up her cell phone bill since she was so kind to post her number on this site! Mabye she can do all of our laundry.
If any of my old music industry friends are out there, yes this is the Stoney formerly of RED Distribution. HI ALL, I miss you guys!
simply great! drops of jupiter catches you as soon as you listen to it...well considering this is coming from Italy, I guess you guys will have a great success even here in Europe, I am sure of it. ciao!

Scott Underwood, without an ass, I still think you sound very interesting!! I enjoyed the moment I spent reading your bio. A moment we've shared, althouugh not together it was still shared! Thank you. I'm really glad you guys do what you do and as well as you do it, WOW!! :) Please continue to do it and I will continue to enjoy and we will continue to share moments, although no together....still shared!!!
Man that show last night was great!! It was about a hundred degrees though and everybody was getting all sweaty. The only complaint I had was that we missed Five for Fighting because the ticket said it started at 8 and when we got there at 8, they were already done playing :( But Train was still great, as always and the crowd knew all the words to almost every song. It was definantly worth the drive from Huntsville. Great job guys!
Hello guys! I will be at the show on 5/7 in Charlotte. I was wondering if you take requests. I would love to hear Let It Roll. I am not sure how the show format goes, usually a .5 mix of older and new releases. If you get this, and play it THANKS!! I am excited to see yes added to your tour? I sure hope so. You need to come back to Virginia!!
as expected, the show was phenomenal. even though this was the second night of a 2-night run, they band gave 110% and sounded as tight as ever vocally and musically. very personal and entertaining, that's why we love 'em so much here in birmingham. and they deliver on every occasion. thanks for a great evening of superb music, guys, and get back as soon as you can!!
I tried posting this before but it didn't go through, so here I go again. It's sad but true that when someone starts to really make it in this world rumors start, but this is bizarre! Pat gay, oh my god in heaven, there's not a gay bone in his entire fabulous body, all I got to say to whom ever thinks that YOU DUMB ASS!!!!!!!!! OH I'm using my full name now since there seems to be a few "Lisas" popping up, But I'm the same "it's me again"
OK, it was bound to happen (I guess) someone starts making it in this world and some ass hole has to start rumors! Pat gay? oh my god, who could look at that man and EVER think that? Jesus Christ, almighty theres not a gay bone in his fabulous body, all I gotta say is DUMB ASS!!!!!!!!
Listening your new album, only said: We're waiting for you in Spain, and the rest of Europe. I bought your record in NY, fantastic. When you'll come to Spain We wait you in CADENA 100 RADIO, Spain. Radio DJ. Javi Nieves
Hey Guys!! I drove over two hours to get to see you in Birmingham last night. I have to say that it was by far the best concert that I have ever been to. I appreciate how hard you guys worked even though you were playing at a smaller venue. I admit that I do not have your first album, so there were a few songs that I did not know the words to. I do own 'drops of jupiter' and it has turned me into a true Train fan. I have made a few enemies at work due to playing your CD over and over every day (just among the older ones). Anyway, I just wanted to thank you for such a great show and cannot wait until I am able to see you again.
Hi! im frm singapore...Bands are not really tt big here but I was fascinated by the sounds of Train when 'Meet Virginia' was played here. N the piano sounds on 'drops of jupiter' n the 'eh eh' sounds at the end of the sentence make the song unique...lol...Of cos its obvious tt Train will never make it down to Singapore but I'd like to let you know tt u have a huge fan in me at least in a small little dot in South East Asia(:
Just a word to Shelly...you wrote "to respond to John on May 1 - I Wish You Would - what a great song. I do love the do do do do do - do do do do. I have to wonder why YOU find that orgasmic being a guy and all (of course, there are ladies named Jo, Randi, etc.). "----The great thing about music is that it can take you places and make you FEEL--you seem to imply that a guy can't find moments in a song orgasmic- as if it would make them gay or something. Train's songs are so awesome...don't question why someone is moved by them...just appreciate it. Open your mind.
well, well, i am quite impressed. my name is nadine and i work for NBC Europe in germany.. yesterday the german rep. from columbia came over to bring me your new album... now play your gigs in the states and come over to europe in june... then we'll meet while doing the show called giga!!
Hi - just wanted to say a few things...first, I want to tell you that I am really intrigued by your music and look forward to buying one of the albums so I can listen more. (Which one do you think?) Also, the website is really great and the bios and information are all well written and interesting. But, lastly, you guys might want to look into some proofreading! Spelling words correctly is one thing - not such a big deal really - but getting people's names right is kind of important. (What if someone wanted to look up s person you mention?) Sorry, sorry, sorry, but I can't help it when some names on your site SHOULD be spelled like this: Binoche, Schnabel, De Kooning, Schiele. It just so happens that I really love these artists too, that's why I care. Otherwise, my last thought is that it would be great if you came to play Tucson, AZ. It's close to your hotmail.com">Shane

one buff is enough
yip! I could be the only TRAIN buff here in India, well most of us have not heard you guys..but I guess it would HELP a lot if you guys came 'ere and did your stint..just one concert or something..PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE.
These last two nights have been, HANDS DOWN, the best shows I've seen. Your albums have been the soundtracks to my life and your talent is unbelievable. X-Lounge was awesome. I am a TRANIAC for life. Keep rocking.
What an AWESOME show! the first show that they did here was incredible! I loved John Mayer, the guy that opened for them. If you haven't heard him you should check him out. I can't wait to see Train in concert again. They know how to put on a great show for the audience and still keep things focused on what they do the best... MUSIC! I love the new CD. It was kind of sad to me though, that the birmingham crowd knew so few of the new songs. It was a great show and if anyone reading this has any doubts about whether or not they should go then i think that to not go would be a HUGE mistake. The band is great at mixing in old stuff with all of the new songs. Ramble on was KILLER, as usual. I love the fact that we (Birmingham)are the only city that has that on a CD. They didn't let us down with the live version either. HOPELESS (the BEST song on the new release) was more incredible live. It was the best show i have ever seen. Thank you and hurry back to Alabama!
Allen to find Sharks follow the link from the home page of this website. I've had problems downloading it and playing it so I'm not sure if it's really working.
SEEMS TO ME THIS IS A FIRST CLASS SITE WHY NOT GET A BETTER COMPANY THAT CONNECTD TO DISTRIBUTE THE SHARK RELEASE WHAT AN AWSOME IDEA GONE WRONG HEY WHAT CAN WE EXPECT FOR FREE
PATIENTLY WAITING FOR THE MELODIOUS STYLINGS OF TRAIN
I love trains new CD all the songs are great! I did download the new song "Shark" But when I play it, it skips like a broken record!! Anyone else have this problem? That stinks cause I really wanted to hear it!!
Well, I left big ol' Atlanta to catch the Jackson, MS show on 4/30. MAN, did anybody else catch that one?? I had not heard the guys do Ramble On and I was FLOORED. I mean, come on, who has ever PULLED OFF a Led Z. tune and sounded good. No, make that unbelievable!!!!! The show rocked. But, hey, are you really surprised??
Unbelievable band. I can't wait to catch the Atl. midtown show!!!!
Does anybody know if they're playing Memphis, TN. anytime soon??
I would just like to thank Train from the bottom of my heart for the way they treat fans. I am a dedicated fan of another band who doesn't do half of what I have seen Train do for their fans. I am in awe at how much the fans mean to the band. It is very rare and very special. The updates are constant, the concerts are amazing, the guys are so enjoyable to meet, and the Road section on the website is incredible. The fans appreciate it and I deeply respect the band for it! Thanx guys!
HELLLLLLLLLLLLPPPPPPPPPPPP... I can't download/play Sharks without it skipping constantly! I really want to hear it but it doesn't look to hopefull at this point. Frustration is getting the better of me. Anyone have any tips for me??
I love Train, I love the music, I can't wait to see the band this weekend in "The ATL." I just heard Pat was gay, if so I think that's so awesome! Some of my best male friends are gay! Much love and success with the tour!
Finally "Sharks"....and the damn thing doesn't work!
Hey all. FINALLY I get a chance to hear this song that Pat absolutely RAVED about last year but they never played for us fans...and now I can't hear it beacuse Sony uses some obscure program that has all kinds of requirements (which my system meets). Does anybody have any ideas to get it going? Has anyone out there ever used connecteD before? I followed all directions to a T and still no dice.
Frustration is a four letter word as far as I am concerned!
Hey! Does ANYBODY out there know if the train show in pontiac on the 15th is sold out yet? PLEASE post it or let me know!!! You know what! I wrote train a REALLY important letter asking about if they were going to put out and album with the cover songs & songs they havn't released on a cd. (they've done some killer songs!)ANd they sent me this THING that said "thanx for taking the time to write"!!!!! What the...? Oh well. They are still my hero's and they mean EVerything to me! I love you guys!!! You rock!
I first want to say that I am truly sorry for the loss of your mother, Pat. That is a very difficult pain to describe, as I have lost my Dad recently. I have been enjoying your music for a while now & have just recently realized how much meaning and thought you guys put into your song writing. I have always considered you as a REAL Rock -n- Rolll band. I am almost 30 & feel sometimes awkward @ your shows but when Im there & the music begins I transcend to a level indescribible. I know there is heart & drive & devotion behind all of your gifts of music. As I once attempted song writing just for the poetic side of it, I was never musically inclined. The things I write are always coming from my own feelings & personal inspiration. Maybe Im wrong but I feel that from your music. However wrong or right, I truly enjoy your gifts and wish you all the very best. I would love to know more about this new single SHARKS & whats to come? Forever A Fan, Lisa
Hey guys! I have the perfect place for you to play a show if you are ever in the northern Indiana area. The Embassy Theatre in Ft.Wayne. It's an awsome building and I have seen many bands there. Consider it next time you are around.
Is there anywhere on the web that is a good Train guitar tab/chord archive? I've been trying to find "Drops of Jupiter" to no avail. Email me if anyone can help. Thanks!!
Well, Everytime the band has gotten within a 100 mile radius My wife and I have dropped everything and went to see them. This was not an easy task at times since we live in North Central Alabama and at times traveled to Atlanta to catch "the next" show. Well this year WE are pregnant, so there wasn't going to be a Train concert for us... Guess what, we got something better... Passes to see the Guys in an accoustical performance for just about 50 people. Live and very personal, I want to say its really great that after a performance the guys got paid "nothing" for doing they were kind enough to hang around in that little recording studio until everyone had the chance for photos, autographs and just plain old "kidding around". I've seen SOOOO many other bands at the SAME place "BOLT" out of there like they simply had better things to do. For this I say: Thanks for the Down Home Kindness and thanks for making Birmingham, Alabama a regular stop anytime you guys are close.
I live and go to school in Denton (30 miles north of Dallas). I was really bummed to hear Train's show was sold out because I have been a fan for 2 years. I took a chance and drove down anyway. I stood in the "no ticket" line for an hour and they told us they weren't going to let us in. I bought a ticket from a guy with an extra one. Whoohoo! It was crowded, but it was all worth it to see Pat sing the line from Idaho, "Texas are you my friend?"
I've been gone for a few days and returned to read some of the new messages. First, Ryan on May 2 responding to Helen. Not quite sure what her problem is. This is a place for us to speak out and let the band know who we are and what our thoughts are. They may or may not care. They do have a life too. I'm sure it can be inspiring to hear our praises and suggestions - that's what helps keep them going to put on the kind of shows they do and write the songs we all love. I did receive a short note from Train (hope it wasn't a "fan mail" person answering - just to let people know that they might respond.
Second, responding to Scott on May 1 - I love "DOJ", but the new CD has a handful of great songs - two of those which we seem to share - "It's About You" and "Hopeless". I would bet the next single will be "Hopeless" unless the band wants to put a different twist on informing those who unbelievably don't know who Train is, as to how versatile and rock and roll they are and not just a band who sings ballads. I have bought too many CD's expecting a band to be a certain way and being completely disappointed (not that ANYONE could be disappointed with Train).
Train, let people know what you are made of (wish more singles from your first CD were released - AWESOME - too many to mention (can't help myself -have to mention "Idaho", "Rat", "Train" - the vocals are UNBELIEVABLE).
Thirdly - and yes, lastly - to respond to John on May 1 - "I Wish You Would" - what a great song. I do love the "do do do do do - do do do do". I have to wonder why YOU find that orgasmic being a guy and all (of course, there are ladies named Jo, Randi, etc.). I love that part, but I also love "...come on, jump to me" on "It's About You". Don't think I want to know what this does for you.
Train, just a suggestion - am listing to VH1 while writing this and just heard Led Z. playing "A Whole Lot of Love" and "Communication Breakdown". You guys could tear these up.
If Train gets a minute (yeah, right), would love to hear from you.
How about ... has anyone SEEN the Music Choice show? I can't find it in my area of So Cal. Apparantly, it will be on in some areas again on Friday at 8pm. Still lookin'.
I am 30 years old and have been waiting for a band like yours to return to music. I had been on a lean musical diet in the early and mid 90's of classic rock-n-roll, and a little bit of country, and quite frankly I was getting so board with it all. Since about 1998 there have been a whole slue of great bands coming out. "Meet Virginia" was the first song I heard from your band and I loved it. I heard "Drops of Jupiter" on a new radio station here in town that I've been listening to lately and I love it even more! I especially enjoy all the guitar, sax, piano, and harmony from all of you. Thanks you guys, to me rock has been dead since about 1992, hopefully rock-n-roll is coming back for the new millenium!
This is no so much a reply to Helen, since that would be pointless if she never returns, but to others who may feel kind of the same way. Unlike many official band message boards I've seen, the band actually reads this, and responds from time to time either on here or in the road diary. Hell, they even respond to fan email. So, naturally people will want to communicate with the band. The guys in Train seem to be great down to earth people, and even though I have never personally met them, I'm sure that they take feedback from their fans pretty seriously. So that would explain a lot of the posts here. I admit I pretty much scan over the "DOJ rules" posts etc., but I'm sure if I were in the band I would take those a bit differently. As for looking for news and such, as with any band, the mass majority of the fans do not have inside information, and most of the ones who do are bound by whatever ties to the band they may have. So anyone with information to leak would be downright stupid to post it on the band's official board. Rumors will leak, such as the MB20 tour and they will be either confirmed or denied by the band when they see fit (and yes they will tour with MB20). Serious discusions do occur here from time to time, but this being the official board and people wanting to communicate with the band, as well as the general format of the board, such discussions generally get lost. Also questions often times get answered privately via email, which is why that option is given to us (which Helen so thoughtfully decided to fake). More serious discussions about a band tend to happen on non-official boards. For this band there happens to be a Yahoo discussion group that you can get to from the links page. So basically, if you don't like it, don't read it. But nobody honestly cares how intelligent you think you are because you think you know what a discussion board is all about. Peace.
Hello? I am a big Train fan and new to this board, but I will never come back! I am reading through the posts and I have to ask? Does anybody care? All kinds of comments are being made and the only responses are from people who should keep their comments to each other private via email! This isn't a Message Board to share ideas, this is a venting Board for people to make themselves feel better by either complaining about something silly or praising Train with the same boring compliments. But nobody is paying attention or cares what you have to say? Questions are asked and nobody answers. As one of the biggest Train fans around, I was hoping to see some real discussion of the band and information (of which there is a small amount--and thanks to those who provide that). Instead, it's clear to me that the group of Train fans that post to this board are those that have the intellectualy capacity of a pea. I am happy to say, for the rest of you disgusted here, that there are more advanced forms of life that enjoy Train as well, not just what's represented here.
With that said, flame away, but I won't be coming back to read it anyway!
Well, apparantly my last post appeased the download gods and it is letting me get it this time. Or maybe Gov. Huckabee reached an agreement with "W" in the last 5 minutes. So I guess for people having trouble, just keep trying and maybe you will get it. I know that may not be much, but apparantly this thing rewards effort. Peace.
hi i somehow have downloaded a song off the internet (drops of jupiter). i have never heard of Train but i love the sound. is there any plans for it to be released in the UK, and where can i find the album Drops of Jupiter in the UK. can anyone HELP. thanks, a new fan in the UK
Apparantly Arkansas has seceeded from the Union. I've tried with two different ISP's both last night and today to download the new song, but keep getting the message "We're sorry but this offer is only available to residents of the US." I've heard of people who were having trouble last night that got it fine today, but I'm still in the dark here. Well, on the bright side, I suppose "W" is no longer my president anymore.
I used my the 13 song DOJ version this morning and I had no problem downloading Sharks I did have a few problems yesterday, but everything worked fine - Why wasn't this song on the album!?! Any one know the story?
Do train have any plans to come to the UK on tour? I think they would do really well here- there is a lot of crap music coming out of the UK at the moment and it's good to hear a real band playing proper music!
The guy from Atlanta was John Mayer, and up and coming new artist off Aware/Columbia. Check out www.johnmayer.com
BTW, the show last night was fabulous in Birmingham. I wasn't able to see the entire set as I was working backstage and frankly it was 100 on the floor, but what I saw blew me away.
Hi guys! My friends and I decided at the last minute to make your Austin show and it was awesome! We're pretty much hooked on both y'all and Bob Schneider. Thanks for the great concert.
What exactly is "Drops of Jupiter"?? Is it about love? Or is it about the planet melting? I know what the song is about, but how would you paint a picture of "Drops of Jupiter"???

Sup guys. Just wanted to drop you a line and say that your show in Jackson, MS last night (4/30) was the best show that I've ever been to. The energy was great. The new album is great. I can't wait until "Hopeless" gets the #1 spot on the charts. It'll be there. Keep up the good work and come back to MS soon... One question... What was the name of the guys from Atlanta who were with you? They were great...
Have never listened to Train before. Saw the video for Drops of Jupiter and it caught my interest. I purchased the CD yesterday at wal-mart and listened to it all night! Best CD put out by a band in a long time. I had to go buy 2 Tapes of Drops of Jupiter today so I have one in both cars. Great CD! Train you have a new fan. I look forward to seeing you in concert when you come some place near Iowa. Thanks for giving me some new music to listen to!!

Hey everyone, I just wanted to know if anybody has heard of a band called ZOOstory? My friend just played me their single "Mantaray" and it is just sooo awesome! I think they're pretty new, but definitely worth a listen. I really think you guys should check them out and hear their unbelievable rock sound. I'm pretty sure their website is at www.zoostory.net. Well if anyone has any info on them, it would greatly be appreciated!
For those of you lucky enough to find the Drops of Jupiter cd with the 13 tracks on it, what are some of the names of the stores you were able to find it in? Nobody around here (southern CA) seems to have it or even know what I mean when I ask...they all think it's the 2-track-only-promo. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Your thoughts: CONVINCED MY G.M. AT THE STATION TO ADD "DROPS OF JUPITER"!!! IT'S SUCH A GREAT SONG THAT IS SURE TO REACH SO MANY DIFFERENT PEOPLE. EVERTIME I PLAY IT, I GET A CALL ASKING ABOUT IT. THE WHOLE CD IS JUST FANTASTIC. SEE YOU IN ATLANTA! AMY D./997 WOOF FM/DOTHAN, AL.

Hey guys, Scott here, manager of Sunfur. Don't know if you'll get to this but thought i'd chime in and tell you how much i like the new record as well as your show in Petaluma. Lookin' at Charlie up there on the stage reminded me of a psychedelic Sunday at the Hog Farm!
I thought you should have thrown the song, "Train" into the set. Tell the record co. to make either 'Hopeless, but the sincerity of the music shined through. Does that sound similiar? A jet is a method of transportation. Does that sound similiar? The influences are more than just coincidence. Cheers to Train for continuing the legacy!
I have noticed that Train seems to have some deep roots derived from the Jets. The lyrics reflect some Jets greats like "Make It Real" and "You Got It All". Pat's vocals are incredibly similar Leroy Wolfgramm's, especially on the high notes. It's kind of cool that their early work together has paid off for Train.
I am hoping with the Jets recent comeback tour, that Train will consider having them open for them. What an awesome show that'd be!!!
Jimmy!!What's up!!!Looking forward to seeing you in Chicago! I guess the rest of the world has decided how great your music is!! I must say I see a tremendous amount of talent shining through!! Saw you on TV!! I guess this means you've made it big time!!!! I knew it was only a matter of time for you guys!!
I e-mailed you a month ago did you get it?? Life is good here in Chicago. Real Estate is going well. I have now decided to take more time to enjoy life! Or shall I say the Dr. told me it is necessary, but I won't bore you with all the details. I play volleyball twice a week on a four's co-ed team and I thorougly enjoy you music on a daily basis I must tell you that your music has brought so much "joy" to my life!!!!!! Kathy and I went downtown for her birthday she was having much fun!! I wanted to go to sleep, not stay out late but I was trying to be the good little friend and stay out for her celebration! I think it was an off night for the scenery!! If you know what I mean. I'm going to be at your show in Chicago on May 16th hope to see you there! Now that security is so important don't know if we'll get to say hello!! I hope so.
Take care all ...Train. I know your working hard!! Oh by the way your CD is now my favorite CD I have one at home, one in car!! It is awsome!!! Is it #1 on the charts?? if not it will be!!!
Is it true that you guys are going on tour with MatchboxTwenty this summer? If so, what a great combo! I agree with others on this board that have said, Thanks for caring about your fans!
Hey. Does anyone have the lyrics to "Drops of Jupiter"? If they do...can they please send them to me at Mikey10j@aol.com? Thanks...that would be really appreciated Mike Jay
Look for two Asian girls wandering around the Electric Factory next Friday in Philiadelphia. We have gifts for y'all. I'll email you a picture of me so you have a visual aid. :)
I drove 6 hours from Wisconsin to see the Indianapolis show on April 28th, which cost me a ton in gas money, but IT WAS WELL WORTH IT! I had seats in the top third of the ampitheather at Butler University, but Pat was oh so kind to invite everyone down to fill the gap in between the stage and the seats. I was one of the lucky ones, and got a front row seat without even having to pay for it. There was minimal talking and maximum playing of songs. The whole concert was fantastic and I must say that it has reached the number one spot on my all time best concerts list. Please come to Milwaukee again really soon, we miss you!!!!
Once and awhile a group comes along you can't turn away from. There is something about hearing them for the first time, that draws you closer to their music. Train has done a fantastic job, in the time they have been together, to be fun, inspirational, energetic, and at times even romantic. Train will be in town on Sunday, can't wait to hear them live. Rock on fellas, we're listening........Already looking forward to the next CD, and to seeing you in Charleston. Later.. D.
Has anyone else tried to download sharks? The disk is verified and a screen pops up and says please wait. I've been waiting for a while now and nothing is happening. Has anyone else had this problem? How can I fix it? Oh yeah, and what two songs are on the limited edition bonus cd? Any suggestions/answers would be nice.
does anybody else think the "do do do do" part in this song is as orgasmic as i do!! Also, I'd like to say you guys were incredible in Dallas on the 27th. I've seen lots o shows and you guys are the best yet. Pat, your pipes are phenomenal and the rest of the guys are top notch as well. Oh and thanks for playin that song at the show! I'm a fan for life!
It is great to see such a great band achieve succes. My lady turned me on to your first cd and I loved it! As soon as the new was out in the stores I picked it up for her, great cd,love your songwriting! With all that in mind, we were hoping that you would not forget us down here in Santa Cruz and play a gig for us at Palookaville!!!I am sure all of the other Train fans will dig not having to drive to S.F. to see and hear some great music!!! Peace and all the best, Lou D
WOW! My husband and I were able to get to the very front when Pat said the audience was to far away. Train truely cares about their fans and putting on a great show. I can honestly say it was SO COOL to have the band actually look at me while they play. Anyway, the show was Awesome! I was afraid I was going to be the oldest person there, but I wasn't. The band has a great mix for an audience, young and old. Although... it has been over a decade since I had cotton mouth just from the air around me!!! HAHA Keep it up.
I just saw train last night in Jackson Mississippi at Hal & Mal's, a medium sized bar- it was completely packed, the crowd knew every word, the band played extremely well- my best friend bought me their first albulm about two years ago and I'd never heard of them, and then "virginia" became such a hit- I love the music. There is no experience like listening to a band like this live- they still enjoy the music, their eyes light up when they play, they glow when screaming fans are singing at the tops of their lungs every word to every song. The new albulm is incredible, if you've not gotten it yet, make it a priority, it's all I've been playing, and every track, every single song, is "high quality H2O." -the waterboy
YOU DEFINITELY CAN NOT LOAD THE NEW TUNE OF THE LIMITED 13 TRACK DOJ IT WILL LOAD FROM THE 11 TRACK ONLY BUT IM NOW GETTING A ERROR TIMED OUT MESSAGE FROM THE SITE SOMETHING TO DO ABOUT PROXY SETTINGS?? WHO KNOWS? IF ANYONE BURNS ME A COPY I WILL SEND THEM BACK A TRAIN TUNE I ASSURE YOU.... YOU HAVE NEVER HEARD BEFORE
HAS ANYONE TRIED THE DOWNLOAD OF THE NEW TUNE SHARK IT KEEPS TELLING ME IT ISNT READING THE DOJ CD IN MY COMPUTER. ANYONE KNOW IF IT IS THIS WAY BECAUSE ITS THE 13 TRACK LIMITED EDITION?? COMMENTS/HELP/WAILING AND NASHING OF TEETH
I've been numerous concerts in my lifetime, from the Stone to Dave Mathews, Rockfest to Ozzfest, main stages to the 2nd stages.... and few bands are as entertaining as Train. I didn't think much of the band at the time their first song hit the airways. But I was lent the album and found that the lyrics, the music, all of it was intoxicationg. Very few groups have this combination.... U2, Third Eye Blind, and Sister Hazel are the few that do come to mind. However now Train can be add to that list, and in my mind , are certainly worthy of a Grammy (if anything , at least a nomination) for Drops of Jupiter. Now all I can say is I hope they come back and play Abilene (Texas) again. Lord knows they have a fan base here.
If there are any guitar players reading this, please send me Train tabs. And I mean anything other than Meet Virginia and Drops of Jupiter. They're great songs, don't get me wrong, but they're the ONLY ones I can find on the 'net anywhere! Particularly interested in Heavy and Idaho. Help me!
You guys blew us away in Indianapolis! I think a lot of the crowd only knew one or two songs (including me, my husband and a friend), but we all walked away with the desire to know more--I have been thinking about it since then. Our friend Rob really loved "something more". He's going through a similar situation and really felt it. Keep up the good work. Sabina
Hey Train I thought you might find it pretty cool to hear that my roomate just came back from a 3 week trip to Tiawian and heard a few times in the hotel JOD playing.
I saw you guys in Seattle a few weeks ago and truly loved your music. I have since purchased your two latest CD's, however I have a question. You sang a song that was kind of an African-American Spiritual. The audience was dancing in the aisles and since I am originally from the South, I truly love this music. Can you tell me the name of the song and what CD this can be found on and where I can purchase?
Oops! My mistake! I just found out that the album is already on general release in the U.S. I depend on my computer too much -- a music website that I purchase CDs from said it would be available May 15th.
Doesn't matter -- I still stand strongly by my predictions for massive success!! And hey -- it's good for me! That means I can go out and buy it today and not wait another two weeks!

The first time I heard this song, I was absolutely blown away by it! I was in my car, sitting at a red light, excited and mezmerized by what I was hearing, so much so that I didn't notice when the light turned green.
This is one of the BEST rock songs I've heard in awhile. I'll bet anything that Drops of Jupiter will quickly move up the charts (it appears to be already -- esp. on the rock charts). When the Drops of Jupiter album is released shortly, I strongly predict that it will get rave reviews and will be a big seller. By the way (and this is no joke), I am very intuitive and very psychic -- you can mark my words on my prediction!! Get ready to make the covers of Spin and Rolling Stone, guys!
Train is going to match the success of some of the other great rock bands we are seeing at the moment (such as Creed -- another awesome band). It looks like once again, rock music is making a comeback in a big way. It's so refreshing to see talented rock bands with fantastic musical arrangements and meaningful lyrics hitting the airwaves.
Hooray for Train! Best of luck to you guys and I hope to see you playing in central Florida very soon! (Please, please, pretty please with sugar on top -- come and play at the House of Blues in Orlando -- I'll be the there, front and center! I'm told that I'm very attractive, so that means eye-candy for you guys while you play.)
I just saw Train last Friday here in Dallas. They were absolutely fucking amazing!!! I have never been a huge fan, until now, and I was totally blown away by their stellar performance. Thanks to the band! Can't wait to see ya'll again here down South!
Okay now this really isnt fair!!! First you arent touring here......YET :) And now I cant get the show My cable company, the largest in South Florida isnt broadcasting the Music Choice show..... very sad in Deerfield Beach :( Would anyone tape it and send it to me????
just wanted to say HI to all of u train people...only yesterday i had finally my copy of "drops of Jupiter"...i was driving from Milano to Roma...more than 700 km...the cd playing all the time...i love your music guys..there's not much more to say...thank u...hope to seen u touring europe someday in the future... for Peter...here's in italy train's albums never been released and i think the same in the rest of europe...so all u can do is 1- buy from internet if u have a credit card 2- order it to some record stores wich sells imported cds 3- send your ex-grlfriend to vacation to NYC and ask her to grab you a copy :) ...this is my own case but i don't think it can apply for you too
I would just like to say that train is AWESOME and they need to come to Atlanta, other than at Music Midtown, because it sucks for those people who don't have tickets...::cough cough::Train is so talented and the thing that I love the most about them is there music and the way that the lyrics of the songs flow together, and really, make sense. I just wish I could see them in Concert!
Guys, I'm SO looking forward to seeing you in two days in B'ham. Hopefully I'll be able to win tix to the X-Lounge show. Anyway, I was wondering if you would play a song for me at the 2nd show. I would really like to hear #12 from the cd Train. I think the name of the track is Train, but I'm not sure. Y'alls music is wonderful. This will be my fourth time seeing you in B'ham and it will definately not be the last. I'll be the dancing girl in the front row (or so) that looks like Sandra Bullock. I look forward to seeing y'all and to seeing the all the other area Train fans!!!

Oh my gosh guys! The show in Dallas at Deep Ellum was so awesome! I am so glad you picked to do it somewhere like that because of the fact that it is pretty small. Everything felt so personal. I felt like I was right on stage with you (I was actually about 3 "rows" back though...untill the encore then I got right up to the very front). Eventhough it was extremely hot I absolutely loved the show and the feeling it gave me. I also loved how Pat came out to the back after the show...now I have an autograph I'll treasure forever. Anyways, you guys totally rock. Your sounds are so original which makes you hard to get sick of. I love it. Well, just wanted to say how much the show in Dallas rocked. Later! ~*Dawn*~
I have not met many San Diegans that are familiar with TRAIN.. I would enjoy meeting any!! I have been a follower since 98 when I saw them in LA.. I saw them at 4th and B last year and at Cane's this year.. I just love the band and want the world to know about them...
Hello my name is Joey, and I'm from Queens, NY. I became a fan only recently, and have been madly in love with Train's music ever since.
I looked around on a few websites dedicated to Train and haven't really found much information. Well, I mean the extremely important information, i.e., Do they have girlfriends or are they married? LOL!
Just bought "Drops of Jupiter" the other day. Although it was a whim purchase, I have to say that I am mighty impressed with the whole CD. It's like when you buy a box of crackerjacks, expecting a decoder ring or something, but you find that your prize is really something better - and you didn't know that you'd wanted it till you had it landed your hands. So silly me, missed your gig here in Seattle. Hope to catch you in SF at the end of May.
just to say that this new disc is the ultimate album- i mean it makes me so happy it gets me hyperventalating cuz it hits home so hard it gets me SO jealous that you guys are so awesome i wish so much that i could write half as awesome as you can (musically and lyrically)and play and sing with the emotion that you guys do ---btw-vocals on getaway make me have to sit down and catch my breathe and i love the intro of something more i'm gonna check this sight every nite looking for a concert in NYC to be announced hope youre having an awesome time on the road your jealous fan--lola
Drove from Chicago to Indialapolis on Saturday to see Train and I must say that not only was the show great, but the city was awsome also...thanks to all of you who helped this lost fan out!
Hey guys! I went to the show in Indianapolis and I loved it. I hope you do the Uncle Sam Jam again this year. I wish you all the success that you want. All the power to you.
I was listening to the radio yesterday and heard the title track off of your latest album. WOW! I first became a fan when I heard 'Meet Virginia' but let me say this: 'Drops of Jupiter' has made me a lifelong fan. I went out right after I heard the song to buy the album. Thank you for such a great album and especially a great song! Keep it real!
First off I would like to say you guys have a great thing going for ya. Your music is soothing to the soul and you don't have one bad track. I haven't been a long time listener, but it didn't take long for me to fall in love with your music. I like the fact that you guys are about the music and not about the money. Thats cool. I also would like to ask if you would play in Peoria, IL. Its a great city to get your music heard. You know the saying "it plays in Peoria". Anyway I just wanted to say you guys ahve a great band and any time you want to play in Peoria just come on in.

Hey guyz! first i would like to say i love your song "drops of Jupiter"! i would like to ask u to please post the lyrics to this song on ur web page or please give me a link to it! Thankx so much,
Hey there everyone, after reading the comments below i would have to say I agree totally. The ROAD section is fabulous and you guys are doing an amazing job staying down to earth and in touch with your fans. This new disc is really picking up, DROPS is the #1 song on WGRD in Grand Rapids. Cant wait to see you in detroit! Also the message board would be alot more useful in thread form or - Mon Apr 30 18:06:03 EDT 2001
Okay, I have never had a song move me as much as drops of jupiter. Oh my god!! The lyrics are so beutiful and deep. just the kind of music I love!! I would have say that after listening to the samples on this website the next album I but will be train. I was also wondering.. I am from South Dakota and I was wondering if you guys were going to play bash in the grass again this year. I couldn't make it last year but if you guys play it you can bet I'll be there!!!
I have two tickets to Tuesday, May 1st in Birmingham at the 5-Points Music hall that I am unable to use. Face value, $30 for the pair. If interested, send e-mail.
Missed you in Denver since I moved here during that show and I was so bummed!!! I tried to get tickets and you were sold out to Deep Ellum Live......I was so sad. Then tried to win tickets for two days from 102.1.....my boyfrind who has never won anything and didn't know who you were........heard the contest and called........I got two tickets. Your show brought tears to my eyes....IT WAS SO AWESOME!!!!!!!!!! I waited almost two years to see you and everyone thought I was crazy!!! Thank you for the talent and feelings when you perform on and off stage!!! Your songs are REAL!!! Keep up the extremely tough work!! Extraordinary comes from being Extra Ordinary!!!
I was wondering if Train already toured here in Seattle,WA? I would luv to see them in concert. If anyone knows anything about them coming to Seattle please respond thanks. I obviously checked the tourdates and nothing so far.
I finally got to see you guys for the first time at Deepp Ellum Live last Friday. I was blown away by how good your live show is. I have always heard that Train did a great cover of Ramble On, and I wasn't disappointed. All of the new songs were fantastic, and I thought it was a great move to put Virginia and Drops earlier in the show. Hope you come back to Dallas with Matchbox! Thanks for a great show!
Okay, so a while ago I heard "Meet Virginia". Liked it but chalked it up to another one-hit-wonder. (Sorry guys...)Then heard "Free". Well, I'm a sucker so I went to see them live at the "Gypsy Tea Room" here in Dallas. The club was so packed I couldn't get in and as I was leaving they started to play. I sat on the curb outside and listened to the ENTIRE set. When it was over I immedeately went to get the first CD. And then I waited for you to come back. Then I bought the next CD, and I waited some more. It has been over two years, but I FINALLY got to see Train live last Friday. Excellent showmanship, gentlemen. Also, thanks for your continuous updates on the Road Diary because it is really nice to know that 1) you all are human and 2) you value your fans. Now just don't wait so long next time to come back to Dallas, y'hear?
1) The new disk is fantastic -- especially She's on Fire, Respect, and Getaway (love that one!). 2) Thanks for keeping the Road Diary updated. It's great checking the 'net every couple of days to read about your travels. I love a band who is really appreciative of their fans. 3) To the webmaster -- a threaded message board would be easier to read given the band's ever-growing popularity. 4) I would love to see you play the Myrtle Beach House of Blues, on a weekend preferably (I live in Virginia). It's a great venue. 5) Thanks for the hours and hours of entertainment your music provides. In today's awful music climate of boy-bands and angry rock, thank God for bands like Train the keep radio somewhat bearable.
i heard your song, "drops from jupiter" a few days ago from a provincial radio station in my country (Philippines) and i instantly fell in love with it. i'm just happy to be one of the first and few people to have heard the song in my country. i hope you make it big here.
It'll be amazing if this actually gets to the band. I'll try anyway.
My friends and I really enjoyed your show last Saturday in Indianapolis. Sorry the crowd was a little subdued. People would rather sit back and and challenge you to entertain them than actually take part and have the show be collaborative.
Anyway, it was a great show and we look forward to having you stop by again soon.
Drops of Jupiter is the first song in a long time that I lose myself in when i listen to it. I first heard it on the radio and fell in love with it instantly! When I heard the CD, i couldn't believe how awesome it is. Right now, tracks 3,5,7 and 11 are constantly playing or stuck in my head. I'm really impressed. I'm hoping to catch the show at Barrymore's in May.
TRAIN are one of the most entertaining live bands I have seen ( Toad the Wet Sprocket, Better than Ezra, and Athenaeum , to mention some others,) I think with the NEW cd the best live track is "Respect", it is a full on in your face song, but I also really like the emotion in "Hopeless", but I must admit "Meet Virginia" is still the one that brings me goose bumps, even after a millions times of hearining it, it is such a classic !!!
This is my third message, just a little note to say that Drops Of Jupitor is still my favorite song!!!!, It touches me in ways I can't explain!!It is such a special song!!! I now have all my friends and family addicted to the song...I guess it was bound to happen because it is on all day every day!!!lol..... You guys are fab......keep up the great work, and keep turning out new songs like Drops of Juputor!!! Have a Great Day Love Amanda xoxo
Can anyone give me an idea of Train's current setlist? I'm sure they mix it up some, but what is the general list? How many songs from DOJ do they typically play? I'm going to the Birmingham, AL show Saturday night, can't wait!
You guys were great in Austin. I know you are ready for a break, but I can't wait till we meet again. It was kind of you all to take the time to greet us afterwards. THANKS! Hope the fans in Dallas were good to y'all as well. Have fun on the East Coast....Redonda
When are these guys going to play a theatre like House of Blues? He kept going on about how far he was from the audience at Saturday night's show (4/28) in Indianapolis. I agree! When are they going to play a place like the House of Blues where it's a real intimate setting? Last year they played smaller clubs and it was great- saw them at The Vougue in Indianapolis- awesome show. First time I saw them was at Mixfest '99 in Boston- GREAT show! I hope that after this tour, they do a small club tour again. It's the best way to see them. If you have tickets to see them this summer- be prepared for one of the best shows you'll see this summer. (I'm always glad when one of "my" bands makes it big, but it sucks when they start playing bigger shows and you keep getting farther and farther away. Train is a show that should be experinced up close!)
It's one of the best songs you've got. Maybe it should make an appearance on a live album. I've heard you play it live four times, though it wasn't on the set list Friday night in Deep Ellum. Nevertheless, a great concert here in Dallas.
Hey, I go to Jacksonville State University and I came to the concert that you had back in March. It was great. I was a huge fan before the release of Drops Of Jupiter now I am a even bigger fan. Drops Of Jupiter, the whole CD is great. So thanks and keep up the good work. Carmen
Thank You Matt Fishborn! To the guy who bought our extra ticket! You helped make my concert experience THE BEST! You are right it is all about attitude! e-mail me! agoddess@softhouse.com
Hi, it's me again, My son and I were talking about your visit to Norfolk VA last spring and I said "isn't that the concert where you got thrown into the security area?" He said yeah, and I said "Well that was after train went off right?" He said "it was at the very beginning of their show", do you guys remember that? Security threw him out of the concert area and it wasn't even his fault (at least thats what he told me), Also, I brought n"drops of Jupiter" CD to my favorite pub last night, we all bring in our music from time to time, anyway yours is not the music usually listened to so I wanted to turn them on to it, EVERYBODY totally loved it and said their going to buy the CD too.So add several more people to the passenger list!!!!!!!!!!
I'm really looking forward to seeing you guys again at Music Midtown Saturday, but what would be REAL exciting would be a chance to have a meet and greet for your close fans here (and there are many, many of us)!!!
I was just wondering what everyone thought was the best song that they performed live. I was very impressed by the incredibly clear sound (even in a so-so venue like the Cajun House), and the jaw-dropping quality of it all, personally. But I gotta stay true to my preferences and say that I got so excited when I heard them begin the opening to "I Wish You Would". I dunno what it is about that song; I just get chills, and hearing it live was a dream come true. ^^ However I must admit that "Whipping Boy" or "She's On Fire" are close seconds for my favorites....

I'm not sure who reads this, but I have to say that I am sitting her with so much emotion inside me because of the intensity of the lyrics I have heard today after buying your "drops of jupiter" cd.
My sister and I saw TRAIN perform as the opening act for Big Head Todd & The Monsters about 3 years ago. We were blown away! We have been fans every since and recently were able to see TRAIN again in Portland for the KINK Earthday concert! It was so exciting to see other fans there too and that we weren't the only ones dancing our fool heads off while most of the audience just sat.
Your lyrics touch me and to tell you the truth that hasn't happend to me before. I love music and it is a huge part of my life but mostly I just listen to the beat and sing along not really paying attention to the words.
Thank you for opening my eyes!
I wish you all the success in the world along with all the happiness you deserve.
You guys really put on a quality show at Butler last night! I thought your new song Mississippi was the highlight. You guys are five excellent musicians who appear to be having the time of your life at the moment! Its nice to have you guys around at a time when most "new" music is so degrading and negative. You guys are a positive note! thanks, c-ya soon! Also thanks for the guitar pick, i'll put it right between my John Fogerty and kenny wayne shepherd picks in my beloved collection.
I saw my first Train show last Thursday in Austin Texas:) The private patio perfomance! Before that day I had only liked Train's songs..but now I am a full out fan lol. They captivate an audience when they perform. Thanx guys! Great music!
I would really enjoy a chance to seeing you guys in concert! Your songs are awesome! I hope you come to Indiana again soon! My friends saw you last year and said you were awesome! I was so jealous. Hope to see you soon.
I saw you guys at Lees palace in Toronto and was blown away!! I have owned "Train" since it was released but it was my first time hearing "Drops Of Jupiter" ....lets just say I was extrmlet impressed!!!! Looking forward to the show at the Opera House on May 13th!!! See you then!!!!!
I was in the audience last night also, and it was WONDERFUL!!! I have never been to such a great energetic concert. I can't wait until you come back to Indianapolis, I will be there!!

Hey guys! You have a ton of fans in Louisiana that would love for you to come here. On this tour, you skipped right over us, but, that's ok, because we love you anyway. You guys kick ass!!! How about coming to Shreveport, LA, have a new faciltiy would love to have you help us break it in right.
So what did all of you Train fans think of Bob Schneider and the guys? I've heard a ton of people really thought they were great. Was is a good choice to have Bob open for Train...meaning did the music fit in???
That's about it...check out bobschneidermusic.com and enjoy the music. shannon austin, tx
Hey, (Bonnie and Christine I know you're reading this!) Just wanted to let you know I had a great time in Dallas and Austin this weekend and I'd love to see you guys again. Stay in touch ~
I hope to see you guys next time around. . . and who knows? Maybe I'll show up in San Fran! ; )
I just wanted to love you guys your concert in Indy was INCREDIBLE! I loved how you told us to fill in the space between the pavillion and the stage. I love you guys! Come back soon!
Just thought I'd let you guys know that both the shows in Birmingham, AL have sold out!! I knew they would, I'm sooo glad I got mine early, I can hardly wait! I'll be at the May 2nd show and its right after our last finals, so we're really gonna party!!
I got to see you guys last night in Indy. It was an AWESOME concert! I really enjoyed watching you guys! I was so overwhelmed at how many people showed up! My mom and I just love you guys! I just wanted to let Train know that you guys kick some serious butt, and keep up the awesome work! Come back to Indiana! Thanks again for a great concert!
You are quite welcome. My suggestion is that you get tickets the second you hear that they go on sale. Train is already growing REAL FAST, and by the time the other tour comes around, after one or two more singles are released, and 15 million more copies of DOJ are sold, the tickets will be hard to come by, especially since Train will be playing a longer opening set than most bands do. See ya...
Well guys, I hope you make it over here one day in sunny England. DoJ is one of those rare albums which you can listen to over and over again. Its on a par with Turin Brakes. Don't stop playing!!! Jaqui
Just thought that i would let you know that Drops of Jupiter is the first cd that i have gotten in a while...it is incredible! Lyrics that actually have meaning and can be understood, plus awesome music...you guys are wonderful. Though i know that iowa is out of the way...would love to hear of a concert date here. And don't stop doing what you love...you are too good at it! Samantha
awesome show guys last night. One of the best concerts i've ever seen.Paid a fortune for front row seats and it was worth every penny. Was even better when we got to come closer to stage.Hope you all come to indy again or better yet maybe kentucky. thats for the great performance!!!
Your show at La Zona Rosa was great!! I had such a fabulous time. Thanks for coming out and playing for us, you guys were great! Can't wait for you to come back again soon! Bob Schneider was fab as well!
i was at the concert at butler last night, and words cannot explain how amazing the concert was. everything was just kickin. the band sounded great. thanks for a great show guys. gabe p.s. and to those who were there, i was the guy who yelled, "you guys kick ass" when it got really quite.
I should have known tickets would sell....what was I thinking waiting so long to buy mine? If anyone has tickets to the show at the Paradise PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE get in touch with me. I am looking for 3 tickets, but I will be happy with anything anyone has to offer.
I just got back from the show in Indy. I find it hard to find the words to discribe it. We drove four hours to see the show. I was right up front center stage. Train ROCK'D! I have bruises on my legs from dancing and stretching over the cement barriers. Totally worth the bruises! Pat & Jimmy thanks for all the attention! You can sing to me any day! I hope to make more great memories with you again! Until then........keep making your heart sing! agoddess
Drops of Jupiter Production Less Than It Should Be?
Anyone else find the production of Drops of Jupiter pretty poor?
Don't get me wrong, I think Train is perhaps the best band on record today, its just that I listen to Drops of Jupiter through some pretty high end stuff and it sounds terribly muddled. There are parts of the album where one intstrument is indistinguishable from the others, it becomes so bad. Truthfully, I can barely withstand letting the CD play out due to this.
Their first release (at least I think its their first) self-titled release doesn't have this problem at all, so its not like I am being hyper-critical.
I really love all the music and I especial love the song drops of jupiture, that sounds has alot of special meaning to me. So thank you for your great music
Your thoughts Drove in from Chicago to see the band at Indy. The show was great, the venue was nice, small, outside & covered. The band sounded incredible, a nice mix of old & new & one great Led Zepplin cover. Also had the chance to say Hello to the band & get autographs. I had a poster signed & I am on my way to the mall now to have it framed. I think taking a few minutes to interact with the fans is important, it's not hard & it means a lot to us ( to me anyway) Thinking of catching the show here in chicago too now & looking forward to the train/Matchbox show. I know I got some really great picture's too, which I am having developed today. you can check them out later at http://communities.msn.com/Bridget3062
Drops of Jupiter is one of the most beautifl songs I've ever heard. Every time I hear it, I feel like crying. Train, you're such a great band, lyrics are like poetry!
Gotta tell you the very first time I heard this song I said What is this? Second time I actually LISTENED and I fell in love! This song is fantastic and beautifully written!!!I'm buying the cd tomorrow! I can't want to listen to it!! All the very best!! Winnipeg.Canada
Great CD guys. Taking one over to Sweden with me next week to give to my soon to be five year old daughter for her birthday. Best of luck, and I most certainly will try to get to one of your concerts with my little one. I hope you tour Stockholm soon.
PS: Who ever made your Drops of Jupiter video, keep them around, it was excellent.
I agree with those folks who commented on Pat's "dancey" thing.. I posted about it after I saw them in Scottsdale, AZ (4/21 posting). I think he's quite sexy and a lot of fun to watch! The groovey moves make me laugh!!
Yes, the Indy show was fantastic!! The performance was strong from beginning to end and the guys seem very appreciative of the fans...especially evident when Patrick requested a closure of the 'gap' between he and the crowd...that was a cool thing!!!!! The rendition of "Ramble On" was great....much better than I would have imagined!! I think we all appreciated the story behind "She's On Fire"....funny!! As much as I hated to see the show end...the finale was one of the best I have seen....letting the crowd fade out with "Free"....only to have the guys really finish it off after the encore songs!! Just a little feedback from very impressed fan!! One of the best shows I have seen......looking forward to seeing Train back in Indy!!! Thanks for the great music!
P.S. I have seen numerous mentions on the board about Patrick's "Dancey Thing".....WOW! He sure does have some smooth moves! It was most enjoyable to watch!!!!
I bought your new cd last night and didn't have the opportunity to listen to it immediatley. It is about 7:30 am and very quiet here on my backporch on a cool, spring Oklahoma morning. I am having coffee, sitting on my lawn chair, watching the hawks in my back yard and listening to the wonderful music coming from my player. I love it! Thank you for providing music one can LISTEN to. Robin
My wife and I saw your concert last night at Butler. It was AMAZING!!!!!!!! An AWESOME performance. Can't wait to see you guys again. If anyone recorded this show for a boot, I want it!!!!!! Please email me,
I love drops of jupitor if you actually read this and get a chance I would love for you to check out my bands new single 'Where Are You Goin' there is a link to download it on our website on the 'NEWS' page at http://crowd.to/llo thanx and keep writing songs like that! lane
Love the new CD and can hardly wait to see you guys at the Warfield! It would be GREAT if you can find a way to fit "This Is Not Your Life" into the set - awesome song!!!
I haven't been here in awhile ... and I've missed it. This internet-stuff really is addictive ...
Well, and so is good music. And TRAIN definitely is one fine band! I can't live without Drops ... I've been on vacation - and they were EVERYWHERE! On the radio, on TV, at the hotel ... I must have been a good girl to deserve all this.
For the most part of my life, music was EVREYTHING. And this made music even a little more beautiful.
And YOU did too. So, take care. And everything you want to share is highly appreciated. At least from my side. I'll come back soon.
hello all. i would love to get some train shows....so if anyone is willing to trade please email me. i just bought drops of jupiter and i absolutely love it and i just bought tics to the lupos show on the 20th! very excited. :) my list is below. http://come.to/ccboots
i have drops of jupiter and its great, but the other day i was listening to the radio , here in Portland Or (KINK FM 102) and they played trains version on led zeps RAMBLE ON. WOW! incredible! what an awesome version of an incredible song. im going right out to buy one and a half ... does anyone know if train does anymore zep covers??? thank you...
I saw someone else mention how entertaining Pat's "dancey thing" is live, and I actually wanted to comment about this for a while! For those who have seen them live (and from what I can gather, that's most of us), I can only saw, for lack of a better word, his little "dances" are ADORABLE! Not that the word is sufficient, but we were chuckling at his very "fluid" movements throughout the whole show. Not that I'm knocking them or anything; He's a damn fine looking piece of beef, and has some awesome pipes. I just thought it was....amusing, to say the least. Very entertaining, Patrick! ^^ I can't stand the singers who just stand there like a vegetable. It's nice to know the audiences aren't the only ones who get into the music!
Just a note to say that for the past 2 1/2 years (since the first time that I heard "Free") I have not been able to get enough of you guys! For the past 5 or 6 weeks (since I bought DOJ) I have not been able to stop playing it! It is so wonderful! I saw you guys at the House of Blues in LA...you were incredible!! Sure hope to see you guys REAL soon!! (I am planning on making it to the Tonight show taping!) Looking forward to seeing you there!! Take care of yourselves & hurry back!!
Shut my mouth and knock me over with a feather! I was so impressed with the show that you guys put on at the Earthday Concert! I was already a fan (and CD owner) but, now you have me for life. Robert Plant, eat your heart out!
It is my opinion, for whatever that is worth, that anyone who didn't know who you were before that concert (they must live under a rock or liston to some other station than KMTT), became a believer and ran out and bought the music.
I only wish that you were going to be back on this coast sooner than the gig in Vancouver, BC.
Best of luck to you and keep your chin up on the road, I know in my heart that you are creating energy that has a momentum that cannot be stopped. It will take you as far as you want to go. It is true that anything worth having is hard.
Thanks for the great time, today I woke up with 'Jupiter' playing in my head. Then I put on the CD. See, its working... even on a sub-liminal level...
Hey guys. Whats up? I wanted to thank you for your amazing and thoughtprovoking music. From the first moment i heard tell me, the piano, the violin, the guitar, My breath was taken away. I have a rock band and I wanted to put piano into my music..but didnt know if a rock band with piano would be really well liked. but you guys are awesome! thank you so much! The vocals are amazing too! I love singing them. Thank you so much, I play piano and sing and play bass....and your inspirational music has influenced me in all three instruments for the MUCh better!! :D thank you so much! Once I get my first CD made, i will thank y ou guys in it! THANX AGAIN! ~Tia*
Hi. I was just in the midst of sufing the net and i came acrosss this site. i love music and so found the sounds section and played a few tracks. I really liked what i heard and thats where u guys come in. Coz i live in england, I'd never heard of Train before, so i don't know much about them or how popular they r. I'd love to buy their music but i need advice on which albumn to purchase (as shipping prices r so ridiculus). Can u tell me either ur fav one, or the populariest one? Thanx for ur help. luv shelle.
I would like wish Train all the best. I am a graduate of McDowell High School in Erie, PA. Pat Monahan also graduated from there. If anyone remembers, Chris Vrenna the drummer for NIN also went to Mcdowell and graduated the same year I did in 1985. It's great to see fantastic music come right out of my high school. Good luck to Train and keep up the great music. Sincerely, Gary Esser
Great show in Austin! I was overwhelmed! I really wanted the dove so I could have a reason to make it to San Fran. Came up from Austin to Dallas for Friday's show but couldn't get in! Your website info about how to get tickets was all wrong and I missed the oppurtunity. Stood outside for 2 1/2 hours and they ended up not letting anyone more in! Sad story! Anyway, thankfully I saw you in Austin so it was all good! Love all your music! As an Aware Rep I do whatever I can to help you guys out! Keep the music real! Later!
I just wanted to write and tell you all THANK YOU for putting your heart and soul into the new album. I am an American living in Ireland for a short while and waiting for the new album to arrive to me was painstaking. But when it came, I tore into it like a four year old and tossed the rest of the contents aside. Usually I listen to a few seconds of each song and then go back to hear everything but I couldn't even force myself to push the forward button. It's incredible. You all never cease to amaze me. I am in awe of your talent. Thank you for bringing so much joy to me all the way across the world. I walk along the Irish sea listening to Pat's voice and I swear I am in heaven. Thank you. I hope you can feel my love and gratitude all the way from here. Although, I'm quite certain you will since you touched my life all the way here in Ireland! I wish you continued success always!
Hey Craig, Thanks for your prompt response to my summer tour question. I tried to reply to your e-mail, but it got bounced back to me. I really appreciate you getting back to me so quickly. I shall anxiously await more news on the Train/Matchbox 20 shows this summer; it sounds like a fantastic combination!
Jimmy, Long time no talk. I don't know how to get in touch with you anymore.... I hope you read this message board otherwise I'm going to feel like a moron! Anywho.... Item #1426063922... this auction ends in about 29 hours or so...
i must say, it is few and far between who have a grasp on music as these guys do... i gladly rank them with Tool and NIN for their beautiful harmony and honest thought. its something that those in pop music have lost. Beautiful, just Beautiful... ash
Pulls her hair back as she screams "I don't really want to be the queen"... I never had a day where money didn't get in my way... and if you leave, take me along, anywhere is OK... it's easy when you laugh, it reminds you of you... staring at the dark again, you left your silhouette upon my pillow... hey, by the way, when I fell to your wayside, did I crash, or just slide?... eggplant and caviar, for you, for you, for you, for you... people are on the outside looking in, mother nature shakes, what then, what then... and if blame is the answer, it's under control, and if shame is the answer, I'm selling my soul, and if pain is the answer, I've seen it all... out of work and out of grass, mother mary never seems to stop to talk, she just walk on past... if I knew better, I wouldn't change a thing... look at yourself girl, look at myself boy, look at yourself world... I know that I'll fall in too deep, you'll wait till I fall asleep before you fade away... well this is just between us but between us, let's get high... you used to say that there's a time we all deserve to lose our minds... and did you finally get the chance to dance along the light of day... I could be that freefall, come on jump to me... are you strong enough to tow the line, are you gonna make me yours, or do I make you mine... it seems you get the things you give along my way... all I ever wanted for you was to see me shining for you... thought I found the words to say, just to get you feeling fine, over heels my way... and I find that even time well spent gets bent if you need it to... but your pride made you ride on this slide by his side to his lies, seemed like forever... she's the one that makes me fall... so I ring the bell another forty time, the neighbors dog make me lose my mind... it wasn't hard to look ahead, you wanted to be me instead, I wanted to be you instead but, I fell and you fell back. What is wrong with me, well what is wrong with you jack?...
I was just a couple of rows from the front & every person around me knew the words to every song. I hope you guys were feeling the energy, because the crowd was definitely VERY happy.
Last night's show was such a stark contrast from the 1st time I saw you guys play...you opened for Hootie & the Blowfish here a couple of years ago. I don't think the 1st cd had been out very long...although I had picked up the cd on a whim and had instantly fell in love with it.
Anyway, it nice to see the success of Drops of Jupiter. The songwriting is spectacular, you guys did a great job!
*Note to Pat & Charlie- Thanks for being so nice and signing autographs for my friend and I... we felt a little ridiculous (luckily we had plenty of cocktails) standing by the bus, but you were both very sweet and we appreciate it!!
The show in Denver was amazing!!!!!The energy in the room was electric and the sound exquisit! I was thinking of giving it all up and getting a Westvalia and become a follower of the group! Hope to see them again sometime soon!
Hey...I was just curious, when you talk about the dogmatic rules in your bio...are you talking about the Bible? I was just wondering. I am an outrageous fan of Train and cannot wait until I can hear you guys live!!! Your music is a very needed breathe of fresh air.
i am a dutch fan of train (and believe me there aren't many of us around...) and i was wondering if anyone has any A-quality boots...i heard that the band allows taping so there must be some pretty good stuff... let me know by email...
A few weeks ago I was walking into Union Station in Los Angeles to catch a train. As I walked in, I saw that a video was being filmed. I had no idea who the band was but I thought the song they were playing was fantastic. I stood there and watched them go through the song 1 1/2 times. I then had to catch my train. Well last night on VH1 there they were. As you can guess, I got to see the filming of the Drops of Jupiter video. I'm glad I finally found out who it was I saw so I can buy their CD.
This seems a little weird for me, but from reading through some of the messages on the board I have determined that there are a bunch of great fans/good people out there!! So, here goes..... I have found myself with an extra ticket for the show in Indy tomorrow night....friend bailed and too short of notice for others!! Hate to see a good ticket go to waste (at least I am assuming they are good (seating, I mean)...I won them!)and would like to see it go to a true Train fan....not someone who just wants to go cuz it's free!!! Let me know!
Since Train just played Denver, I was wondering...when they're actually IN Colordo and they sing "I Am"...when they get to the part "Never climbed a real rock or seen Colorado", do they still sing those lyrics or change 'em around? :)
Thanks for such a great show last night in Austin! I squeezed right up front and enjoyed every minute of it! Bob Schneider was great, too. Can't wait till Train comes back to Texas!
I love the sound of Train SO much! It sounds like a mix between Led Zeplin, the new Hanson CD,(A good thing) and Jonny Lang, but with a new jazzy "rocky" unique twist! I LOVE IT and I can't wait to buy the CD and see them in concert in San Fran.
Y'all gotta get your a$$es down here to hawaii a.s.a.p!!!!!!!!!!!! we need good music, cuz all we have is that hawaiian $hit! (no offense) since green day just had to cancel their concert, and aerosmith and madonna are touring, but can they come to hawaii? NOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooo!!!!!!!! alrighty,
Your thoughts: Dear Rob, aka "The Hotch", since my family has now become complete Train groupies I figured it was time I make sure and remind you where you really had your first break...old 116 Kings Place. (Not to mention who your true fans were back in the good old days in New York!)
Absolutely thrilled about your success. I think you guys are great, I'm embarrassed to say how much your CD is played at our house.
Just went to Cabo with Beaz to celebrate our 40th's, what a blast. Anyway, I'm trying to coax her up here for your May 26 show.
I'm going to buy your CD, okay? I admit that I have a slight grudge against you guys for 'Meet Virginia', seeing as that's my name and whenever I tell someone my name they start singing that...oh well. I love Drops of Jupiter.
What a great show in Denver. Saw you guys last year also. Keep doing what you're doing and thanks. I own a mom and pop Indy just south of Denver in Castle Rock and really appreciate you promoting the Indies. Thanks Steve
Just sent message to you guys. Keep readin' about how you are SF's greatest, best, etc. Guess the Candlerock in Sacramento doesn't count for much these days. From humble beginnings...and so on!!
Hey guys. Just getting ready for CityFest again. Really enjoyed the performance last year. How come your not playing again???? I do have to say that I thought that the sound was a little loud. I can listen to a loud show now, but this was beyond that. I'm really looking forward to checking y'all out at Tremont. I hope there is a great crowd. Well, if you guys have some time to kill, why don't you come by a cool as hell store called Century. If your into mid-century furnishings, this is the place. It's only about ten minutes from Tremont. Find it, and maybe you can spruce up the outfits for the evening!!! C-ya

Thanks so far to all who have ripped on the idiot reporter that gave our guys a bad review. For those of you who havent scroll down and see my first posting. Train fans UNITE!! TRAIN has the best fans!!!
Your show in AZ rocked..I completely agree with MShip..anyone negative can kiss ass...your even better live which is rare...extremely talented..keep it up~
GUYS! The Pat McGee Band (one of my faves) is coming to Cleveland May 17th. Since they're opening for Train this spring, and Train is off that day, think there's any chance Train may show up at the gig? I mean, the shows before and after the Cleveland date have both bands ont the bill -- how can I get Train to come?
Hey Renee, thanks for forwarding the article. My response to John Beck follows:

Dear Fishwrap Hack,
I just read your review of the Train show at the Mystic and two words linger in my mind: YOU SUCK! Your misconception that the act was over-polished must be guided by your complete lack of ability to recognize talent. This was one of the band's first shows of the current tour so they were probably a little rusty if anything. Man, I'm glad you didn't review the rippin' San Diego show a week later. You might have slipped on the polish and cracked your head open.
You must have been the only one there that didn't have a blast. Get the shit out your ears, remove the blinders, and for God's sake, have that operation to remove the stick from your ass.
Better Luck Next Time, -MShip www.moneysoft.com

Hey ... just wanted to say that your show last night in Austin was awesome as usual. Amazing ... simply amazing! Thank you for filling me with such great joy :D
Train Cd is super awesome. I am a critic but I admit at first I was like no way. Then I brought it and I am like crying on songs 3,5,10,11. This CD is full of colorful trips I would call the Cd a "Powerful Mind Drug".
The wonderful words of your songs have really touched my heart. After listening to your CD, I felt as if I were a different person. I began to look at things in a different light. Thank you so much for inspiring me. ;)
I came here to trainline.com because I wish to know the time of trains from Manchester to Portmahanock in the Scottish Highlands .... I take it you lot don't have a timetable for Scot Rail on you then?
.... sorry, gotta look elsewhere, but next time I'm surfing for tunes, I'm on your case
Hello to the greatest band of the 21st century. I can't wait to see you guys in Bham on the 2nd. I have been driving my husband crazy. He likes Train too but is not near the fan that I am. I will be there with Bonniy so keep an eye out. I also need to get my new cd signed (other one is signed already). Also, great job bringing Five For Fighting with you. That happens to be my 2nd favorite group, next to you guys. Lots of Train Luvin, Maria
The directions on the tourdates page for the Wavefest on May 6 are wrong. The show will be at Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Stadium. Directions are available at MapQuest. The address for the stadium is 360 Fishburne Street, Charleston, SC 29403. Tickets are $20 in advance (http://www.etix.com) and $25 the day of the show. Other bands playing are Collective Soul, Sister Hazel, Our Lady Peace, Crazy Town, American Hi-Fi, and Five For Fighting. The show starts at 1:30pm.
A couple of days ago I heard something on 96.7, I think, that Train would be making some kind of appearance tonight (4/27) here in Austin. Didn't catch the details. Anyone know anything? BTW, Great show last night!!!
Exactly what that other person said... we in Australia are a little behind with Letterman... but I saw Train's performance on Wednesday night and it was absolutely stunning!!!!! Congrats guys!!
Can't wait to see you guys LIVE in Sydney! *hint hint* ;)
ps. Love the cute little dancey thing Pat does! *teehee*
i was wondering if u could have a concert in the middle east cuz uve got so much fans here everyones crazy abt u and especially in the united arab emirates(which u prob didnt hear of yet) but pls think abt it!
I was thinking about this. What are your passions about? Not in a bad way, like what are you so passionate about when you write these songs? Is it past experiences,I know some are. But do you ever just look at something and it gives you a feeling an emotion that feels different than any other one you have had so you feel the need to write a song. And is that what alot of your songs derive from? I know I sound wierd but I thought I would ask and see if you actually reply.thanks,Harmony in Dallas
Hello there. This is such an amazing concept to be able to correspond with a band. And from the ever increasing airplay I keep hearing, I wonder how long you will continue to keep up. Learning about this website was an added plus after having gotten the 'drops of jupiter' cd. You gentlemen have a monster song on your hands, in my humble opinion. From the first time I heard it, something caught my ear. After getting the whole disc, and now reading more of your exploits on your website, I am absolutely thrilled to see you are coming to PHILADELPHIA. Much luck to ya.
Your thoughts-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I can't find my job!!!! Hey guys, I am a big big fan and I have seemed to misplace my job somehow.Well the point of the story is that we live in Dallas and we want to see you guys so badly. We missed you last year.As the subject says I can't find my job( i am a musican), and my girlfriend just got FIRED so we have no money for tickets. We WILL WORK FOR TICKETS.WE wash tour busses, tune and string guitars,WE cook home cooked dinners,my girlfriend and I just want to see the show.If not we will be sitting outside like idiots. We will not go to any other shows all year if we can get in.This is the best show in Dallas all year.Probibaly the last time you guys play a small venue here also.
Hi I'm a very new fan. I just got your new CD today and I'm never taking ou tof my CD player, what an awesome CD. I didn't realize that it was you guys who sang "Meet Virginia", until someone told me the other day. Let me just say that I'm very happy that my ears happend to hear "Drops of Jupiter" I can't praise the song or CD enough!!!! Now I heard a rumor today and I was wondering if somone could clarify it..... Someone told me that you guys were coming to Ottawa Onatario Canada? Is that true? To a bar named barrymore's? I really really really hope that what I heard was true!!! Anyway!!! Cheers and I hope you guys are having bunches of fun on the road!!!!! Bye for now!!! Your newest fan!! Cheryl :)
I recently bought Drops of Jupiter and I must say it has become my favorite album. It hasn't left my cd player since I bought it. I just wanted to let you guys know that you're doing an excellent job. And uh...when are you coming to Orlando?! I'm bummed that I won't be able to see a show on this tour. Anyway, thanks for the great music and keep on rockin.
ok, so hows this for a suggestion? when Train is on tour with MB20...an encore with all the guys on stage at once...doing some fantastic cover...but which cover should they do??? someone suggested a Black Crowes...that would rock my world...so any other ideas?

Train Rocks!!!
Just wanted to tell everyone how excited I am about going to see the "Train Boys" tonight in Austin....I've been waiting for this date for awhile...I'll write more after the show tonight, hopefullly after I meet the guys!! ;) See ya, Susan
Renee, I couldn't agree with you more. I am a fairly new Train listener and recently saw them in concert. I tell you, that was probably one of the best concerts I have seen (saw Collective Soul also, AWESOME). There was nothing overly fancy (saw them in a fairly small venue - which I prefer), but the music was pure and was exact to the CD's we all love to listen to. I think anything a band will do to keep there show fresh and different from every other band is a positive step in keeping thoroughly devoted fans. I have read this message board a few times in the past couple of weeks and Train definitely has a following of devoted listeners. Again, Train, keep doing what YOU do. WE are your critics. IF YOU BUILD IT THEY WILL COME!
This is basically a thank you note. I just needed to say thanks to you guys for Drops of Jupiter. My girlfriend of 7 months just broke up with me to go "trace her way through the constellations" and the songs beautiful imagery and emotions are EXACTLY what I need to deal with this. You guys have basically saved my life, so thank you. Forever.
You guys are an awesome group breathing life back into rock and roll music. Drops of Jupiter is a great song. I would appreciate someone posting the chord progression. Thanx for the great music.
Just wanted to drop you guys a line to say you have to be the best thing in music to come along in 10 years. I bought your first CD, loved it, just picked up "Drops" and listen to it about 3 times a day. I'm in the Detroit area, and will definately be at your Pontiac, MI show on May 15th. As a musician, I reall appreciate when good music comes along. Keep Up the great work!
I just saw Train perform a short set at An Austin Radio Station (96.7 KHFI) and I was very pleased! THese guys sound Great! Not only that, but Pat Monahan has a great sense of humor. I am going out to buy two of their albums today. Thanks for making my Thursday Afternoon a memorable one. -Sweeeeeeeeet Sarah
Not sure if the other message got to you so I thought I would leave on here.Never heard of your group before but by accident heard Drops Of Jupiter and fell in love. Hope to see you all when you come to Toronto
I have just begun to listen to train in the last few months & enjoy them enormously.
I adore the lyrics to many of the songs & it gives me renewed faith that people can & do have AMAZING connections with all kinds of other people out there every day. And for me. That is what it is all about. PEOPLE. And TRAIN writes about LIFE & PEOPLE.
Train, you are, in you, the best soy latte I've ever had! Move over Dave Matthews, Pat and his crew are coming to town- and they are playing at an intimate venue where I might actually get to feel like i'm at the same show as the band. Don't jump on the "band wagon" and go arena style, Train, you are too good for that! Thanks for allowing us to sing along- Denver is always good for back-up! We love you here- always have and always will. Come back- Red Rocks is awaiting your arrival!
Could we get an audio version of Jimmy's cats singing Happy Birthday to him? Perhaps add it as an extra to your next LP? I have to admit I didn't know today was the day but now that I do....
Happy Birthday Jimmy. Don't squat with spurs! Cheers & beers, kb. ;)
ATTN: TRAIN fans! You will have to e-mail me if you want to read the article I couldn't attach it here I am forwarding my e-mail to this idiot reporter who gave TRAIN a terrible review!! I am also attaching the article he wrote (not to promote him) so you don’t have to by the PD to read it and to get your blood pumping so you will drop him a line, if only just to say “You suck” and fill up his mail box. So lets all ban together and show this no talent, no taste for good music, so called writer that TRAIN has a lot of dedicated fans!! FOR THOSE OF YOU THAT MAYBE ARE NOT TO FAMILER WITH TRAIN, trust me that they rock and forward this to anyone that will send this guy a note!!!! ****Javene I know YOU can forward this to a million people!!
Renee -----Original Message----- From: Renee Parker Sent: Wednesday, April 25, 2001 2:33 PM To: 'jbeck@pressdemocrat.com' Subject: Idiotorial** Feel free to drop John a Line
Music and show reviewing, enjoying a concert as a fan, deciding which derisive lines to use to describe a lame review, all can be an utterly subjective experience. With the John Beck review of the April 18 TRAIN concert at the Mystic Theater, not only can it be a subjective experience, but a completely enjoyable one as well (the derisive lines, not the review).
Even as a fan of TRAIN, I can understand (I guess, some people don’t have taste) that not everyone would enjoy the show...to each his own, whatever picks your guitar or sharpens your pen. But I can not understand John Beck’s complaints about the performance.
Let’s see, they played a song twice in one concert...John Beck would have you believe that is akin to stealing from a Salvation Army kettle during the holidays( which John Beck may have to stand next to if the caliber of his reviews continue on the same path). I actually thought it was a bit of creativity, the crowd responded so well to the song the first time (its an amazing song), why not play it again as a treat to this hometown crowd, and enjoy it again. I have often wanted to hear a song again, in concert, but it has never been done. TRAIN did it for the fans, not because there was a lack of material. Beck’s comment about Pat (the lead singer) “beating on anything he could get his hands on” what is that about, since when did “throwing yourself into the performance” become a bad thing ? I think loving what you do and having passion for it, is something this “writer” doesn’t understand. This fan would like to beat on something up around a certain reviewers head (figuratively speaking, of course...well maybe some rotten fruit wouldn’t be too violent). Though Beck isn’t the headline writer, the idea of the TRAIN show being too polished is, in my opinion, like saying the wax job on the Jaguar is a bit too shiny. If TRAIN takes the time to put together a polished, creative, have them dancing in the aisle show, they shouldn’t be criticized for the fact. What it might do is encourage a certain music reviewer to do likewise, put together a coherent, well-thought out, polished (even over-polished) review. The good thing was, we were able to hear their great new song twice. Fortunately for us though, we won’t have to experience the John Beck review twice, as unlike the TRAIN song, once was more than enough for his review. I mean we never know maybe John was beat up in school, maybe his mommy didn’t love him, maybe he had terrible acne which resulted in a youth of frequent masturbation. We do not know John Becks story but rest assure it is nothing to read about. As for me I will never buy another Press Democrat … YOU SUCK A Devoted TRAIN FAN ** Feel free to drop john a line about his horrible review of the train show. I have attached so none of you have to buy the paper to read it.
A friend was asking me who my favorite rock vocalists were. Now I am a huge Dave Matthews fan and his voice has such great range for a rock guy but I think that Pat's voice may be the best in rock today. He sings with so much emotion and also matches Dave's range. Just keep up the great work Train. As of now I am trying to make all of my friends Train Fans too.
P.S. Does anyone know if Train is coming to Kansas City? I saw them last year in an ensemble concert but it was only like a 5 to 7 song set so I was hoping they would come again.
