MusicianshipWow. I just wanted to say that the musicianship of Train is mindboggling. I am a musician myself, and so I know what I'm talking about. I really love the dynamic differences Pat can create with his voice in each song. Every song is a new story, and a new voice. All the added sounds, such as the saxophone, (which i love because i am a saxophonist) is just brilliant. Well, Pat, if you're ever in Memphis and you want to meet a beautiful, brilliant musician, I'm sure I'll be at the show looking for you afterwards. Love, Laura

Train's MusicI posted a message when I first saw Train on the Tonight Show. I was so amazed by Drops of Jupiter that I would wake up at night just to see if it was on MTV or VH1. I was losing alot of sleep so I bought the CD. I know alot of people say this but it is the very best CD I have ever heard. Not just DOJ but the whole thing. I love all the songs. I am in my 40's so I don't know if that is normal for someone my age. Please come to Florida soon Train.
Carol - Thu Jun 28 21:11:44 EDT 2001
About MeI am 15 and live in Cali. I got into Train the first time I heard Drops of Jupitar. I got the Drops of Jupitar Cd then a week later I got the first cd. I didn't even remember that they sang Meet virgina. There were hear in the Bay Area to record the DVD but I couldn't get tickets. I am triing to go to the concord show because I have been into Matchbox Twenty for 2 years. I am still aming for tickets. I feel special becasue if I am not mistakened they are from or formed in Frisco. That is cool. I am realizing how wonderful D of J is. Myself being a singer find pats voice very pleasing. My fave song is "Its About You". To me the first part of the song is about the fans and the second about someone he loves. Well people bye

"Drops" sharinDidn't even know you guys existed until last Sat. Heard "Drops" on the radio as my 15 yr old daughter dialed out my music and hers in. "Drops" floored me. Turned 42 last Tuesday and music is a big thing for me and its not often somethin my daughter listens too catches me let alone how deeply this did. Listened to it as a love song from a guy to a lady. For my birthday card my daughter quoted the 1st chorus to me. 3 years ago I left her father after 15 years of abuse and went through a hard time and she did too. The lyrics to this were a perfect way for her to tell me how much she loved me. I wept. Thanks guys. Doin great stuff. Will listen to the rest anon. Wanted to get this out to you or whoever is readin this in the hopes it will make its way to you all as what a gift this is to a lady you all don't know or probably ever will.

I knew the band was good. . .I was driving west on the 520 floating bridge in Seattle, stuck in traffic and hating it,
when I first heard "Meet Virginia" and was thereby introduced to the band Train. I
loved the first album but the second one blew me away. Both the song and the album "Drops
of Jupiter" are magnificent. I read somewhere that Pat Monahan dreamed the song
before he wrote it. It is so well written I can almost see that dream in my mind when
I hear the song.
I am counting the days until September 22 when I get to see Train in concert with
Matchbox twenty at the Gorge in George. Two of my favorite bands in one place, I
think I've died and gone to heaven.

Dutch Fans!!Chantal, Laura, Roos...
It looks we`re getting more `n more Dutch Train fans...and it`s about time...! Aileen and me have been waiting for that for some time now...!
Well, I`m sure Sunday will be a blast... Okay...I know it will be an outdoor show, but still...it`s TRAIN!!! And when they return in October, I`m sure they`ll play Paradiso or so... We`ll just have to wait and see...
And by the way...Roos, since you seem to love the first album too (who can`t??), we should be yelling for certain songs.... The more..the merrier...!! How about "Train" and "Idaho"....??
Later all,

Subject of your messageYHi! I am a 41-year old Mom with three kids. My daughter, who is 4 years old, Jorja, is the biggest fan along with her Mother of your Band. I saw your show at Deep Elum Live and will be lucky enough to see you in September. My daughter knows the entire lyrics to "Meet Virginia" and is learning the rest of the album. I have never written to a group or band but just want to let you know that your music touches me each day and I know you will take the show in Dallas. Keep up the great work. P.S. I saw your white bus in Dallas, it was a great bus. Bob Schneider was great!

breedersPersonally, I enjoyed the "train fans should not breed" comment. Its an opinion. Its funny
I didn't write it... not a very antagonistic person. But think: why would a person
who did not like train go on the damn message board? Its a joke..
Train isn't a bad band, eh? But what is wrong with Cincinnati (other than a few riots)?
Why not add a date onto the Matchbox 20/Train tour and give an aging student a break?
We have good chilli.

Come Back!!!I'd love to see you come back to Greenville, NC. We really enjoyed having you play at the Attic...and are anxiously awaiting to see if you can take time off the tour with Matchbox 20 to come down to homegrown NC again! ST. Louis Show Sept 15Hey there Jimmy,
I'm so glad to here you're coming to St. Louis again, and I"m actually going to be able to make the show, if I get tickets.
I was hoping we were going to be able to catch you at Milwaukee Summerfest this year, but you skipped the country.
We're hoping to make the show on the 15th, but we're having trouble getting close tickets. Think you can hook
us up, so we can make it back stage to chat with you? I'd like to get you're mom's email, so I
can see if she's going to make the show. Have a great time in Europe, I"m envious, I'd love to be there!.
See you soon,

More pointless crapI didnt think anyone read these things untill about a week ago... Got an email from someone I didn't know... Said that he saw my title 'pointless crap' and decided to read it... Then i was just looking around to see if my message was still around on this lil board thingy... Then i saw my name.. it stated Shannon-people do read this... Got to say i was a lil surprized... Didn't know people even took the time to look at these things. Well for the people who do and read mine, the guy in my story died. I walk around dazed, I forget to eat ( i kow thats bad and no i dont have food issues) my friends say i look like death... I scream in my sleep and if i could remember my dreams maybe it would give me some sort of comfort of even a lil bit of peace. Life is life, and mine chose to take something that matterd out of mine.. Wish I understood why or even how... Don't think I ever will... I talk to alot of my friends about this... They all say the same thing, "Forget about him, live your life and dont look back" I would but there's one problem with that. Anyone and everyone out there remember their first love am I right? Well he was mine and as corny as this may sound I could care less at this point.. I'll never forget, I don't even want to try... All I have is a fuzzy printed out picture put in a picture frame, placed on my headboard of my bed.. Thats all I have left exept for emails that I have saved and memories that I will never forget... Im sorry for who has taked time out of their day to read my thoughts... I think I might of wasted your time... Im sure your problems are greater than mine... But sometimes you just have to talk even if you don't know who will read this...Or what they'll think, what does it really matter anyhow... I'll go ahead and say good bye I don't want to waste anyone's time here... Anyone that wants to email me, I love getting messages. Thats just me though... See all you people later... I hope everyone's day or night, all depends on what time you read this, is awsome. And I hope that your tomorrow is even awsomer (I know thats not a word but I think im allowed to say it)Thanks for anyones time... ~Shannon~

Drops of JupiterThis CD is absolutely amazing! The music is incredible and Pat has the ability to write lyrics that seem more like a conversation between friends. This is a rare gift and probably one of the main reasons I think I've connected with these guys so heavily, that, and the fact that there just really nice guy's. Thanks for the gift Train!

RE:EmilyEmily-
Scott went to Saratoga High. He probably graduated in 89 or 90 because I think that he is 30, 3 years older than me. I grew up in Burnt Hills and now live in SChdy. I got the priveledge of meeting them at Nothern Lights in CP, and Scott's whole family was there. It was really spectacular!! But yes, Scott is from Toga. Someone thought that when they had some time off before going overseas that Scott was in Toga, but I don't know if he even lives there anymore....

Awesome Music Guys!A couple years ago I was taken to one of your concerts and just fell inlove with your music. I would have to say honestly that it was the BEST concert I had ever been to and it wasn't because of my boyfriend at the time!:)
The concert was in Davenport Iowa, at Mississippi Valley Fair Groynds. The concert was brought on by St. Ambrose University.
I so would love to see you again and take my new boyfriend to see you, because he thinks you are awesome too. I see that you are going to be in Chicago in August, but I don't know if I can make it. I am going to try and make a miracle happen.
Well anyway, I just wanted to thank you for being in Davenport two years ago and coming into my life of music!
Hope to see you some day!

Shot out from the pastI was in a band called 62nd Street, (now called Molasses), and we opened for TRAIN a bunch of times back in 97-98, when they were starting to rule the Bay Area (California) scene. Now they are all over VH1 (and the world,) and it freaks me out, in a good way! I love the new songs, and hope they are having the time of their lives on this tour. Milan, huh? Hope you get some time to do some shopping while you are there! Say wazzup to Jimmy, he was always really cool and friendly with us. Nice that you guys posted a message fromthe road, as well...very classy!

u guys rock big time!!I've only just heard of you guys on the Q music channel and you are amazing! I live in England so I hadn't heard of you at all before that but I wish I had! I just wanted to let you know that you are loved here too so get over here on your tours! Your music is wonderful and the lyrics are so touching! i've just spent hours on your site listening to the clips over and over again to keep me going until i can get the album. i wish so much that i would be able to get to one of your gigs but unfortunately i just don't have the money to get over there. i hope it all goes well for you in the future anyway, and as long as you continue to produce such amazing music i will always remain a huge fan!

Got My Tickets!I'm happy; got my tickets for the MB20/Train show at the Arrowhead Pond in September; talk about something to look forward to! (It *may* make it easier for me to make it through this long, HOT summer.) I am amazed that so many people are saying the same thing about this c.d.; that the music has touched them somewhere down deep, because that's what I've felt from the start, and have been rather confused by! Just goes to show that this band is something special. Thanks, Train, for all that you do, and for caring enough about your fans to keep everyone updated as to what you are doing.
See you soon!

Spiritual TrainI just wanted to let the band know how much their music is appreciated....I thank you from the bottom of my heart for awakening the spiritual journey in all of you thereby passing it on to those of us on the same journey.....:)......You truly have a magificent message and it is reaching those who "know". Your recent cd has touched my life...so amazingly where I am at in this lifetime......that is is almost as if you have a light reaching into the depths of my core.....you are most appreciated, are very special, and are loved.....by my all......sending you tons of positive and loving energy so that you may continue on without the weariness that so inevitably comes along with the road......Namaste.....I bow before and honor the divine in you.....I honor the place in you in which the entire universe dwells, I honor the place in you which is love, of truth, of light , and of peace. When you are in that place in you, and I am in that place in me, we are one.
Sending you all love peace and harmony to you and yours.......Colleen

I'm soooo looking forward to the release of "Drops of Jupiter" on the 9th of July! It's such a great song and gives me one of those natural highs whenever i hear it!

Message to Jimmy! I just wanted to say that your folks, Judy & Jose(Larry!) are the salt of the earth. I'm a member of Lazy Acres and your dad pretty much holds down the fort. Judy has been keeping me updated on all of you for awhile now, so we've gone from your struggles to great accomplishments in a few short years. I hope you realize just how proud everyone in our area is, that someone from this neck of the woods, went after a dream and is actually living it now.
You may remember my husband, Ron Feeney. He hasn't changed. His haircut does resemble yours, though! Imagine Stone Cold Steve Austin.
I buy very few CD's, but your new one is my favorite. My 8 year old little girl recites many a song by heart (not to mention her mother). I wish you guys all the best ... keep giving us the great music. It makes for a happy soul.
Suze
p.s. Congrats on your baby girl! I know you must miss her.

ThankYou For Your SongsI just wanted to let you know how much your music, especially one song in particular means to me. Late last October i met a guy in a night club. We ended up spending a lot of time together. His name was Chris, and soon i was totally intoxicated by him. Then he revealed a secret to me. He was seperated after a marriage of 8 months. So basically he had a lot of baggage, and many issues that he had to work out. It caused a strain on our relationship. We kept on pushing each other away whenever the relationship moved us closer. it came to a point where i could not take it anymore, so i left the country for two months and went to india. there i was able to clear my mind, and get chris out of my system. i also agreed to get married to a young man there, who was free of any baggage. when i returned to the states, i called chris to arrange a time when i could pick up all my belongings from his apartment. he ended up telling me that he loved me and did not realize how much he did until i was gone. and he played the Drops of Jupiter song for me. It brought tears to my eyes, because that described out relationship so thoroughly. I ended up breaking the engagement and moving in with Chris. He was such a great guy. He was finishing his last year at Law School,as well as worked really hard on his own music. He would always call me his "Anita Star", and would sing me your song every night when we would go to bed. On memorial day weekend, Chris went to his parents house in the Poconos to tell them that we wanted to get married next year after graduation from law school. Chris never did make it back home. He was killed in a car accident. Drops of Jupiter, brings me so much comfort when i listen to it. I can just imagine Chris singing it to me. Today is the one month anniversary of his death. Your song has helped me through what is probably the hardest time in my life, and for that i wanted to say Thank You, and never stop playing the music.
love

we hear you!!just a quick note from milan, where we've just finished a busy day of interviews and are about to leave for soundcheck. we typically do not post notes on this page, but thought we would today. things have gotten very busy (in a good way) for us and it's just too much for us to answer every question that is asked. we all have computers on the road with us and enjoy reading these message pages as often as we can as well as the email that is sent, but our best way of responding to everybody is to leave a somewhat general message on the "road" page to tell you what we're up to and include you in our travels. we try and post other news on the "news" page and you can always find out where we're playing on the "tourdates" page. we're sorry we don't have the time to be involved in the message board conversations. sometimes we'd like to, but there are other aspects of what we do (writing, recording and performing for example) that take up alot of our time. we love reading your comments, though, so don't stop! viva italia!

RE:SheilaThanks anyway, I figured it out.
Lisa Lynch - Mon Jun 25 08:53:50 EDT 2001
Disection of the lyrics (just one man's opinion)In reference to the "Heaven is overrated" lyric, I think a lot of people have missed the
point; the entire song uses references and analogies that have to do with a girl leaving
and traveling through outer space ("duh, we know that, move on please").
Anyway, I think heaven is another way of saying "a better situation" (another person
that the girl feels has more to offer or the 'freedom' of having no one at all, for example).
I don't think that the literal Heaven is what the lyric has in mind, it's just a metaphor.
It is a shame that some people are truly misinterpreting the meaning.

What's with the sudden disection of the Lyrics?hello all.... I want to know why so many ppl are all of a sudden taking lyrics from Train
and deciding what they mean? Mainly I am talking about "Drops Of Jupiter" and the "...Heaven is overrated..."
statement I just want you all to know that just b.c. someone thinks that that means something, doesn't
mean the same to everyone. You don't need to just assume that they are taking light of
what supposedly happened on a cross. I am not saying it didn't happen. I don't know what I
think. But isn't it overrated a little? Isn't everything? I mean... think about it. Back to my point.
This is Train's song. Not yours. The meanings behind the songs are theirs and theirs alone.
I am sure that they don't have the time to listen to your little wimms about them. Train is
one of the greatest bands of this time. And their songs are so powerful. But, take care. And
I'll read and tell you stuff later....

the band ...My thoughts.. Okay so here are my thoughts. I dont know how clear this is going to be I am somewhat distracted but I don't know why their fan mail does not go directly to them, the band. That is my thougt. I live in Okla. so I hear they I coming through with MatchBox 20. Good deal. But, I think it would be really cool if the band would respond to their fans in person. Not by some person hired. I don't know about everyone else but I like the band b/c of what they sing and or write not why what their hired (if a hired person reads these) writes. Anyway write back whoever.

does train ever actually visit this site??!!well i love the music i think that it must be really fun to be in a band like that and im going to the mb20/train concert soon as they hit washington (if they do) if i could ask them 1 question it would be "do you ever get sick of singing the same songs over and over, i think i would." or "did Tell me have any relation to something that happened in real life?" because its my fave song and im curious. i think i might also like to know if they think of themselfs an normal people even being famous. normal being average but i guess thats aweird question because it could mean as in personality or lifestyle or some other things (im not really thinking). well icould go on pointlessly but thats all i will say 4 now because i doubt anyone will bother reading it.

the albumHi to the all of the band - I just would like to say - I just can't get enough - listen to the entire CD to and from work - Then the songs linger in my head, so I play the damb thing while I surf and do business on the net on my computer - I hate to say this but I really wasn't much of a fan of yours until this album came out. It is BEUTIFUL. I think sometimes radio stations just play to much of one song for to long. Drops of Jupiter was different. But know last weekend I bye pass that song to listen to all the other ones on the CD - Cool Job - GOD CAN YOU DO IT AGAIN- OF COURSE - YOU HAVE IT. GOOD LUCK IN THE FUTURE-HOPE TO SEE YA AT THE MUSIC AWARDS- BEST ALBUM OF THE YEAR SEEMS RIGHT UP YOUR ALLY WAY. GOTTA GO

My 8 year old loves DOJI wanted to share that I've been listening to the CD non stop for a while now and the other day in the car Drops of Jupiter came on the radio and my daughter told me that this was her most favorite song! She saw the video and wanted to see it again and again. Too funny.

Hey charlieCharlie! You really are a rock star! I've been out of the country for a while and out of touch. I have have some great photos of you and Trist on the catamaran on SF bay last 4th of July. I tuned into the Train web site and saw that you are playing at Moby's in Madrid. I've been there as well while enroute to Italy to pick up a boat. When you can catch a breath and need some sanity lets sail. I'll be back in Europe this fall. Keep up the good work brother!

Dumb-ass CaseyCasey-
If you knew anything about the Crowes (notice it is -es!!) Then you would know that they sound different than Train. I happen to like both bands. I have actually been a fan of the Crowes (ES!!) for about 10 years. They are definately two totally different bands. The only thing they share in common is an oriental carpet they have on stage! Go back to the hash pipe man!!

Thanks to Brett for my intro to Pat!Thanks to Brett Scallions for introducing me to Pat @ the taping of VH1's StoryTellers (and taking three different pics..I guess Brett should keep his day job :-). Through the guys in Fuel, I have had the opportunity to meet many bands and can't say all the experiences have been pleasant, some were even disappointing. Pat is an extremely nice person and has quite a refreshing sense of humor. It's so nice to meet people who love what they do and appreciate the people who love their music. I have been a Train fan for several years and looked forward to a new album. When the guys in Fuel told me they were performing w/ Train, I was extremely excited and expectations held true. Both bands did a great job, and I felt I was a part of something really unique, two bands w/ different styles of music, different writing techniques, and different personalities. I certainly enjoyed meeting Pat and wish all of the members of Train a very successful tour in Europe as well as w/ Matchbox Twenty in the US. I hope to see Train when they are in Knoxville.....As I was driving home fr work today, I had the most profound moment while listening to Train. I was listening to HOPELESS and saw an older couple (man pushing his wife in a wheelchair w/ many bags on her lap). They were rather dirty, and I am sure they were extremely hot because of the weather temp. I thought to myself that those people may not have any hope. I realized the small things that lead us to believe there is little to no hope don't even compare to the big things that couple has to endure every day of their life. Very next song, RESPECT. I passed by the college and saw a blind woman w/ her dog and backpack in hand waiting for the bus. I assume she had finished classes for the day. It showed me that everyone deserves respect. That lady could be like many others, and she could use her handicap as a crutch. Yet, she is aspiring to be more, to better herself. WHAT RESPECT! Sorry for the lengthy letter. Well wishes to Train on their new tour.... MIC :-)

My Thoughts.To the Band,
First of all, I just wanted to thank you, the band, for making such an amazing album. Personally I feel that "Hopeless" and "Let It Roll" are two of the most brilliant songs I have ever heard. The record as a whole does not lack in any area, I wanted to say thanks for your hard work on the record. It has more than paid off in my opinion. The only other Train song I was familiar with prior to this record was "Meet Virginia" which was an amazing song as well. This record has made me a Train fan for life. Lastly, I would like to thank you for inspiration. I am starting an independent film company, and this record was playing through much of my scriptwriting. I hope to be in a position someday to have Train score one of my films. You are a truly amazing band. Keep up the great work!
Thank you...

Drops of JupiterI loved this record the first time I heard it. I gave it to a friend and she write "awesome" on it. Every single song is unique and different and I love the various instuments being used, such as the violins, harmica, etc. My favorite is of course Drops of Jupiter, but my gut reaction is that "Respect" will be the next single. I love the way it crashes through the guitars and the words are incredible. "Everybody needs a little respect.Everybody needs a little time. Every body got to have someone." I'm seeing Train in Concord and was so stoked when they are playing with Matchbox Twenty. "Yourself or Someone Like You" was the only other record I listened to and loved every song. I'm telling everyone about the record and about Train. I have a lot of family back on the East Coast and they have yet to hear about Train, but believe me when I go back I'm bringing the CD with me. I can't wait until Sept. 25th. It will be a great show.

I went to see you at your last show in Ottawa (May 21, 2001).
What a great show ! A few days later I was on my way to San Francisco to visit my brother and heard that you were playing there on the 25. But with my luck I had comitted to a camping trip in Lassen.
I was dissapointed that I could not see you play again.
A few days later I hear that you were playing again on the 30 but to my sadness I had to catch a flight back to Ottawa.(again dissapointed)
I hope to catch a show soon

Congrats~Hello and congratulations to all of you. I was taken by Drops of Jupiter ever since I first heard it.. Truly an amazing song! My collection/taste of music varies drastically... (Tori Amos to Manson!) and you have been added to my favs. ( feeling lucky now huh??!! j/k)
When I heard D.o.J, I was like hey, this has like an old 70ish grove to it and the words "knocked me off me feet".... Long fall, I'm 6 foot tall!!
Well anyway, I wish you the VERY best for all that comes your way and may stardom never interfere with who you are...
Take care!!!

drops of jupiterFive days ago I first the song "drops of jupiter" and I told everone in the office to shut up while I turned the radio up. It is the most instantly memorable song I have ever heard. I got on the net when I got home and ordered the album. It turned up yesterday, I listened to it all night at work, loud. Jupiter is lyrically amazing and manages to put all kinds of images in your mind, and I would just like to thank the band for releasing it.

Relevent slabs of despair"Drops of Jupiter" is a wonderfully stabbing album. It lulls you with its sweet melodies and driving rhythms, its tasty harmony smacks like a buttery chardonnay, and yet all the while, there is pain and despair. It speaks on so many levels.
"Drops " is obviously a perfect blend of poetry, melody and emotion.... The title song actually reminds me of my beautifully crazy wife, and I keep thinking that I might be the man who was …too afraid to fly…. Anyway, This CD is my favorite of 2001.
I'm a huge Radiohead fan and I didn't think that I would like a new band better than them, but "Drops" is a better CD than both "Kid A" and "Amnesiac." Train's power is wielded like a Samurai sword on the "Drops" CD; every song cuts across me with surgical precision and reveals some sort of permanent scar. But I don’t mind the scar; it reminds me that there in fact is room to grow.
Excellent Job guys! I love your music.

DOJThe other day my son started yet another bandw/one of his girl friends, she plays keyboards, and sings, and he plays drums and wants to learn the guitor, so they came into my store begging me to come next door to our warehouse to listen to them, I really didn't want to cause it was pouring outside, but I went and they started playing this song that dumb bunny me didn't get(mind you they are lacking a few instruments), then my son started singing DOJ to the music and I finally got it! Actually despite the fact that it took me so long, they were pretty good, just thought I share that here are 2 15 year olds that love Train ALMOST AS MUCH AS ME!!!!

I hope more people will catch on, and find out how amazing the band is... I`m glad they`re in Europe...they deserve it!
And of course...I`ll be screaming for "Walk On The Ocean" in Rotterdam... (Clare!!!)... If they play it with Glen, they`ve got to do it again...(gotta love Toad!!!!!!!)

London gigWent to the show last night and have to say you guys absolutely rocked. "Free" was my highlight of throughly excellent set. Was surprised that so many people knew the lyrics though...may have something to do with the strong american contingent in the crowd though! Bring on October is all I say!
P.s. I thought it was funny how the queue failed to recognise a group of onlookers who came out of the venue before the gig to see how many/who had turned up....I wonder who those freaky lookin' guys were.(!!!!!!)

storytellerswell it seems that i always step in shit with this band. i had a great time watching train tape story tellers. i'm not a fuel fan but they were pretty good to. i have to say pat was a pretty funny guy. they all were actually. i wish that they played more songs though. anyway thanks for blowing my mind again. also i have a band that needs a singer. if there are any singers on long island reading this, or if anyone knows of any please contact me. thanks.

train (duh)Wow,
I must say Train is amazing!! They write their own music (and good music at that)! They are a wonderful sounding band!! And they aren't just in the music buisness to make it big, they want to write music. Rock on train!!
Amanda - Tue Jun 19 21:03:41 EDT 2001
Thank you, Train!I am in the middle of the infamous summer college tour with my parents, and I have come to realize the value of quality music. Without CDs to drown out their whining and arguing, I would have gone nuts, and Drops of Jupiter specifically has been a lifesaver. I must have listened to it about 5 times already, and it's only been three days. Thank you so much Pat, Jimmy, Charlie, Scott, and Rob for making such a wonderful album! It couldn't have been better unless it got me a 1600 on the SATs. Next time you tour, try to come visit us fans in Miami. :o)

UK gig I have just returned from Trains one and only UK gig and it was BLINDING.
It was a bit of a weird gig as there wasn't many of us Brits in the audience but shed loads of Americans.
I was really lucky as i was in the front row and had Jimmy at arms length, I have never seen anyone sweat so much, bless.
The set was only an hour long but i definatly see Train beind big in the UK.
COME BACK SOOn!!!!!!!

Thanks for Drops of JupiterCan't say that I've ever been to the web site of any band. But I had to say thanks for Drops of Jupiter. I haven't been this excited about a CD for a long time. It hasn't left my CD player since I bought it. I look forward to hearing it live at the Gorge in WA in September. Thanks for making my "every day" a bit better.

"Drops Of Jupiter"Where to begin...............
I was hooked when I heard the piano, then I had the pleasure of hearing THAT voice, and then........... what AMAZING lyrics. Words can't describe them, how ironic.... Such fantastic, poetic, down to earth lyrics. I'm driving my friends crazy because I carry your CD with me everywhere and MAKE them listen to that song.
Don't get me wrong, the whole CD is great, but "Little Drops Of Jupiter" just kills me, and I want to "kill" everyone else....LOL....... Thanks for not only keeping music alive, but thanks for keeping "Wonder" alive, it's a great thing!
Lee - Tue Jun 19 00:48:34 EDT 2001

I Love it.i just purchased the album Drops of Jupitur. and let me tell you that I was expecting to return the Cd beacause of the little paper inside that promised me my money back. There is no way in hell that I am going to try to refund that Cd. its the best i've heard in a long time. All the songs come from the heart and you can tell this by the way the singer carries his tune.My fav songs are: Drops of jupiture,Hopeless and Getaway. they just relate to me in a certain way. I would like to thank the men of Train for following your dreams and releasing one hell of an album. Much Love to all!

Just a few thoughtsI am very impressed with "Drops of Jupiter". Most of what I hear on the radio or see on MTV sets my teeth on edge because it is simply awful. I much prefer the intelligence in your lyric and the elegant music that accompanies it.
I am on my way to the store to purchase the CD now - it will be my turn to blast a CD while we are washing the ambulance at work tonight. Good luck on your tour, and I hope you visit the DC area again soon.
Laura - Mon Jun 18 12:45:35 EDT 2001
You guys are great!I work at Media Play in Erie, PA. And just the other day, Pat came into the store. He was only here for a few minutes, but it made many of us feel privileged that he had come in. What was an even more awesome feeling, was that about 5 minutes after he left, the "Drops of Jupiter" video came up on our big 9 screen panel, and we were all just like, "Wow, he was just here in our store." It was a really cool feeling. Your CD is great and I hope you guys keep up the great wrinting and make all of your dreams come true.
Good Luck!

Storytellers...one word....WOWWell, I got the chance to see VH1's taping of Storytellers for Train/Fuel yesterday evening. It's one event I'll never forget. My seats were right in between both sets with a perfect view of each performance. I didn't even know that Train, one of my favorite bands was even going to be there!! When I got there and found out, I almost died. I am missing them in their tour with Matchbox Twenty and was bummed out that I wouldn't see them...well, I did!! The band has soo much energy and had the audience laughing constantly. I hope some day soon that I'll see them again! Pat has that voice unlike any other and from that first note people's mouths dropped. Look for it on VH1 sometime this fall!Bravo to the men of Train!

Berkeley native/Different spin on Drops...I have a little different take on "Drops of Jupiter." It's June 2001 and I just heard it for the first time a couple of weeks ago. When I first heard it, I thought instantly of my mother, who died young at age 52, with many of her goals and hopes unrealized. She was a lively, vibrant, charismatic woman. The song expressed all my fears, doubts, and hopes about the afterlife. Even as the years have passed and my grief has lessened, I still find myself wondering what my mother would think of me now. It wasn't until I caught Pat Monahan's explanation on VH1 that I even realized "Drops of Jupiter" was a relationship song. In my book, that's where songwriting crosses the line into pure poetry.
I'm a Berkeley, CA native who just relocated to the Boston Area for a job. I happen to know it's not that easy to make a good latte with soy milk. I saw Train for free when I was a student at UC Berkeley. Pat Monahan has a face that's not easily forgotten. (That's quite possibly a compliment.) When I was a student, I lived in a loft in the factory district near Fantasy Studios.
I missed it when Train hit big. I didn't know about the Providence show (nearby). I will be in California for the Boston show, and in Boston when Train is in California. If I'd been at home, I'd have been in the front row of the Warfield. However, someday....
Wishing Train all the best and thanking them for my favorite song.

New albumI just love Drops of Jupiter. It's hard to find an album that you can just listen to all the way through...to actually find an album when you open up that cd wrapper versus just a bunch of singles ready for top 40 play...wow! Job well done. Oh...and nothing bridges interfaith rifts like a home-cooked gefilte fish pope-loaf.

Train is the most "soulful" band I've ever heard; my heart actually changes rythem when I listen to their music. Drops Of Juipiter is, in my opinion, is the best song ever written.
