The most original band to come along in ages. The music is charged with emotion, as are the lyrics. The melodies are beautiful, the construction of the songs are solid and the delivery ... phenomenal! Thanks to all involved. From a 41 year old who grew up loving jazz, blues, rock, rhythm & blues, funk, folk...even some disco. Somehow, I can't do the rap thing (except the occasional Will Smith who is pretty tame). Trains' music gave me faith again!
Laura Drake - Fri Jul 27 15:58:00 EDT 2001
Train's music has meant so very much to myself and my music. I am a guitarist primarily, and I play four other instruments at an experienced level. Since I was introduced to Train, I have found myself experimenting with so many more styles of music, building chords one would only expect to hear in a Train original. This message is here as a thanks to Train for broadening my musical horizons and helping in a large way to make me the musician I am today. ROCK ON!!PS.... could you make your way to New Hampshire eventually? PLEASE?!?!?!"Music is the driving force of life--DRIVE IT LIKE YOU STOLE IT!!!!"
Bret - Fri Jul 27 15:53:32 EDT 2001
this message is for the band. i've been very lucky to see you guys quite a few times.i flew to alabama to see you guys the first gig of the tour. jay put me on the guest list in nyc at the bowery. thanks again jay. i even saw you guys do the story tellers with fuel. i'm writing this time not for myself, but for a little boy who loves you guys. his name is cody and he has cystic fibrosis. he plays your songs when ever he's down and he wants to meet you guys. his uncle john is trying to win tickets off the radio for back stage passes. i know that it's almost impossible to get them like that so i'm writing on their behalf. i have never met cody or uncle john, but i know if the band or if jay wilson reads this, they'll help. john hill is his name, and there is a posting from him down the page. if any fans read this please pass the message along so it doesn't get lost in the teeny bopper games that have been going on on here. thank you.scott rhodes

I recently bought the Drops of Jupiter CD. I can't stop listening to it!!
I will be seeing you in St. Louis on September 15 with my 14-year-old daughter. Would love to be included in a meet and greet if there is one. This concert is a birthday present from me for my daughter.
I will be buying the self-titled CD before the concert also. I'm sure it's just as wonderful hearing Pat sing something from it on the Millionaire show.
Keep up the good work!
Debbie Gruner - Fri Jul 27 14:07:00 EDT 2001
OK--It wasn't enough that this band's music is awesome! Soulful, stirring...or that Pat is super-sexy!! I caught him on "Millionaire" last night, and when he showed how much he was in love with his wife, well...I'm blown away. You guys have obviously put the work in to becoming good people as well as talented musicians. You can't have one without the other, in my opinion.

I've seen the Drops of Jupiter video about a million times...maybe even more if it's possible... but for some reason, I can't help but watch it. It's addictive. It's so simple, but it draws you in. It's got a quality in it that makes the song seem so uplifting. In other words, I adore it! Thanks for the visual.
Christina - Fri Jul 27 02:14:07 EDT 2001
I just bought my first Train CD- Drops of Jupiter. I love the music. Come to Madison, Wisconsin on tour!

As a totally new Train fan I want to commmend the band on the CD Drops of Jupiter. I "discovered" your music whilst on my holidays in Canada this year and bought the CD... Its now my mission to go find your first album....which will be no mean fete in my little country.
We are a bit slow to catch on over here to a good thing but my feeling is when we do you're gonna be huge.
Please, though, if you are planning a tour over in the U.K. can you try to get a bit further afield than just London...there is life in this country other than in the capital!!!...come to sunny Manchester!!!!!Keep the tunes coming...love Judexx

I just got turned onto Train through the new single Drops of Jupiter. I love that song. I originally heard Meet Virginia but had no idea who the group was. I recently went and bought Drops of Jupiter and have been listening to the new album over and over again. Awesome! I have been a huge Collective Soul fan for a long time. Now I am a huge Train fan as well. I would love to see Train and Collective Soul together in concert. I know they once had some gigs together. That would be huge for me to see them both at the same time. Once again thanks for a great album!

I am not the kind of person that rants and raves about this band or that band. But my wife bought the album "Drops of Jupiter" and played it for me. I truely think that this is the best all around album of the year so far. The song "I Wish You Would" really affected me. I'll be catching these guys at the Sept 18th show in Denver even though I already saw Matchbox 20 earlier this year. I'm just going for Train.

Hi there! I just wanted to say that I am a 43 yr old Mom......and I have been a classic rock fan for years......listen to it all day, until my 11 yr old son introduced me to the sounds of TRAIN~ I now have a new favorite band! WOW is what I have to say! The first time I heard "Drops Off Jupiter" I was hooked! I went out and bought the CD and can't stop listening to it!!! Drops of Jupiter is outstanding. It's been a long time (and, I am old) since a band has come out that has the depth of music and lyrics that yours has. I must play your music softly now for fear of being lynched by my neighbors and co-workers (your CD is played at least twice a day, at least Drops of Jupiter).Hey, one tour date in TORONTO? at Ontario Place? EH? EH? Eh? Eh? (hey, almost backwards)When are you going to play Skydome or Air Canada Centre in Toronto??My six year old now whistles to Drops as he can't stand to hear me sing it one more time.Hope we see you in Toronto really soon.Standing by for the next Toronto tour and album.Janna

I would really like the guitar chords to the song, "Drops of Jupiter" by Train, and also "Follow Me" by Uncle Kracker (forgive me if the spelling is incorrect. Also, there's this new band out, and i think it's either called "Lighthouse" or "Lifehouse", anyway, they are new to Australian charts, and i heard their new release, and i loved it....I NEED THE CHORDS!!! Many Thanx, from a passionate guitarist PETA

I can't believe that I have found a cd that I love more than 'Train,' but I did. 'Drops of Jupiter' is definately my favorite cd, and I can't stop listening to it. I love the fact that you can hear how the band has evolved and grown through their music. The first album was great, but 'Drops of Jupiter' is a more mature, and heartfelt album. It is wonderful to see how the band has grown closer together. This is reflected in their music, which has also grown, it is rock, with a twist of blues, jazz, and country every now and then. Train's members have a wonderful bond of friendship and love for music that shows in this new album and can be felt by all it's listeners and fans. I can't wait to hear the next album, and keep up the great work!

I was driving into work one day last week and i heard this song. I need to do a quick sidebar...i never listen to the radio in the morning. i want to hear music not some dj chattering away about whatnot and hoo-haa. So i consider it some sort of fate that i was listening to the radio and i heard this song. something about it made me stop the car and just listen. the words, the melody...it was beautiful. of course the dj didn't say who it was or the name of the song and me, being who i am thought it was The Black Crowes (well there is some resemblence..ok, maybe not too much, but it was there! honest!) well i was talking to my friend and telling her about this song i heard and she said, "Sing it." ugh. not what i wanted to do, but i made a feeble attempt and she said, "You dork, that's Train." Well, sweet lord that made me happy, because one of my associates had the Drops of Jupiter cd at her desk and i put it in my cd player, closed the door to my office and listened to the entire cd all day long. Thank you for such a beautiful cd and a most beautifully written collection of songs.

I love TRAIN and you new CD, that song is what I sing when I ride my bike 2 miles home each day after work, only to sing along(only now with the CD) even more! I'm 14, male, and a drummer. I must say, I feel sorry that Pat is getting all the attention!! He's a great singer and everything, but what about the other 4 guys? Charlie, Rob, Jimmy, and Scott deserve just as much credit for the music all of us sing to, live by, live for, and absolutely indulge in each day. From all of us, Brett Carpenter

You guys have really touched my musical life. It's been many years since I've been able to say that I have a favorite band! I picked up your CD after the first time I heard "Drops of Jupiter". I saw the Columbia Records sticker guarantee and said, "I can't lose!" I sure didn't lose anything! This is the best CD I've ever purchased. I can relate to many of Pat's songs, especially "Drops of Jupiter". I've purchased tickets to see you in PA with a girlfriend! We both are hooked! This tour has 2 headliners! We're actually only going there to see Train; Matchbox twenty? Who are they? (ha,ha) Keep up the great work guys!

I will never forget when I first hear the song "Let It Roll". I had just spent what would be the last Sunday of what would be my Grand Dad's life. We had a really wonderful time that day, he was in great spirits, laughing, joking, wanting to go fishing. He kept talking about life and how no matter what happens to us, life just rolls on. and what a shinning light my mom and I were to him.. His Honey girls.. He died in his sleep that night. Driving back from the funeral home after his arrangments were made. I put the cd on. I half listen, then Let It Roll came on and I had to stop on the side on the road and just let go. After wha seemed like forever, I felt so much at ease. At the funeral, "Let It Roll" was played, not for the tears but for the smiles and light that we gave to each other. So, to the writer of those words. Thank You.. for easing the pain, and letting 2 Honeygirls let it roll.

Just caught Train on Howard the other morning. I have been a listener to his show for years and have heard a lot of bands play. Train was, by far, one of the best sounding bands ever. Being 34 years old it is nice to know that some new bands can be original and refreshing. It gives us 70's and 80's junkies some hope for the future of rock and roll!!!!!

My thoughts: Well my thoughts are that Train is the first band I've heard in a while that has real soul. My favorite song on the album is not Drops of Jupiter, but Mississippi. What an honest, and achingly beautiful song. If only more musicians today were true musicians...thank you Train for sharing your gifts

I first saw Train in concert in Dallas Texas, at Deep Elm Live. I had heard rumblings about the bandbut had never really heard them. I was completely blown away by the music and now am an avid fan.I also heard you on Howard Stern and was again amazed at the range of your abilities. The Led Zep.song was amazing... I only hope for the best for you. Be sure that when you come back to Dallas with Matchbox 20, I will be there........

What is Drops of Jupiter about, where did she go?I really like this song but Im not sure to understand everything about it.
joey - Wed Jul 18 21:22:55 EDT 2001
Hi, I just want to say that you are a really good band but lately I wanted to make a question, and who can give that answer better than you. Look, this song, Drops of Jupiter I think its very cool, but Im not sure if I understand it very well, please can you tell me what is this song about. Please write it to me, I really hate when I have a favorite song but I dont know everything about it. Explain to me why ®soul vacation®, because what I dont understand is where did she go.
You are a great band, Im sure you will succes, I really do. I dont say this because you are a new band, because you arent at all, I do it because I think you will go far away. I really like you guys, keep it like this.
joey - Wed Jul 18 21:18:05 EDT 2001
I suppose everyone is entitled to their fantasies in this world. Back in the day, I certainly spent a good deal of time 'obsessing' over people. I suffered my depressions, recovered, and live my life. As long as C4P drools from a distance, all is well. We all chill out in time, so lets cut a little slack, and we can all remember that we're only here because we love Train. Obviously I think we'd prefer that everyone is here for the music, but if someone wants to post just because they dig Jimmy's shoes for all I care, that's fine too I guess.Peace and Love everyone!

I love your music!! It has touched me in a lot of ways. I am a behavioral therapist working with children with autism and the song Drops of Jupiter reminds of them the struggles they are going through to find themselves. I have always had a loveof music and try to find a lot of meaning in songs. THANK YOU TRAIN for your gift of music and for the words that you sing.
Sincerely,Suzanne Bonomo

While I was on a bussiness trip to New Orleans driving in my rental car trying not to get lost,I was listening to one of the local radio stations when I first heard "Drops of Jupiter". I fell in love with the song. I thought hmmm the Black Crows must have a new CD out, because to me it sounded just like them. I soon found it it wasn't the Black Crows but this new band I've never heard of before. I ran out and bought the CD and have been listening to it ever since. My favorite song on the CD is "It's About You". This band is so awesome I can't wait to see them in concert. Does anyone know if they will be playing the Orlando, FL area?
Thank youJoJo :)

i feel exactly the same way.i talk to my best friend on the phone like every day and when we talk, if i mention anything to do w/Train, or pat,or DOJ i get a strike and if i get 10 strikes she hangs up on me! she thinks they are...brace yourself...stupid!(actually she said worse things) i should dis her because of that. they r a GREAT band. our most common "disagreement" is who's better: Train or city high? What do u think? she says they r better because they have a female who can sing high picth, which a good male singer can do. (pat)

I now know how lucky I've been to be able to meet Pat, get his picture and to meet all the others and get an all-band picture. I only miss Scott's autograph, but I'm sure I'll get it when they return to Holland. In the USA Train is a huge succes, so it's a lot harder to approach them. Here in Holland on a free open-air concert, there were about 25 fans and lots of ppl hearing the music for the first time. I never thought I would say this: lucky me to be living in Holland.

another quick message from me------->many people down under don't know about train and thats a real pity because they are truly missing out on a breath taking experience. however i am one of the many few that were swept away by train the self titled album.i think the thing i love about train the most is the fact that they have a gift, one that inspires listeners through their lyrics. anyone whether it be a homeless guy or a c.e.o. of a major corporate company can listen to train and feel inspired to do something wonderful, and to feel overwhelmed by happiness and to just simply feel touched and invigorated.train's lyrics go straight to the heart and stay in the soul because what train say is true and meaningful and truly truly deep.
nivey - Wed Jul 18 10:33:46 EDT 2001
i would just like to say that train are really awesome and they really live upto their name and that their music comes from their souls. they don't write music for money or to be famous but they do it because thats what they were destined to do and making music brings such happiness to others. they have touched me so much with their music and you don't get many bands these days that hold that power. so thankyou train.......
nivey - Wed Jul 18 10:08:54 EDT 2001

`I think it's a shame that people who bring so much pleasure to others (IE) through their music or whatever can't just be left alone, enjoy their down time with their family and friends, then come back and bring us more pleasure , please leave them alone, whomever you are, let them have their privacy, let them enjoy their lives, after all, their just people like you and me, and they deserve it.

As for who is married and who is not, I suggest you check out the article in ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY that is out on the stands this week (July 20 issue). If you are observant, you can pick stuff out of the liner notes. The fact that someone doesn't wear a ring is meaningless. Marriage isn't based around a piece of jewelry. It's based on love and commitment. From what I've seen (yes, I have actually met them), these guys are very committed to their wives and families. They are very happy. Please leave them (and us) alone. If you are truly a fan, then please respect their individual rights to have private lives.

After years of "Boy Bands", who don't play instruments, and "Rap Crap", who, again don't play instruments, real music has a chance to come back with Train. Music like this has not been heard in years. It's is refreshing to hear a band that knows how to put togeather instrumentation and harmony which I haven't heard in years. Keep up the good work guy's. Looking forward to seeing you live in Arizona.

He was there enjoying himself, when me and my friend were like "is that Pat Monehan from Train?" The people that were behind us said yes(they were his next door neighbors). So we went up to him and asked for an autograph. He was like sure. I was so excited I didn't know what to do. He was the nicest person dealing with his fans. I just wanted to sa thank you. Deborah Gaudet - Tue Jul 17 20:30:05 EDT 2001
It was really weird...I saw an add on TV for Mike Bullard's show - and there was a band singing a song (DOJ), I really liked it. I thought it was advertising for that nights show, so I taped it, so I could find out who they were, and what the song was. I was disappointed when I watched my tape, because they weren't on that particular show. Then, just yesterday, I walked into my bank (Royal Bank of Canada) and for some reason they've installed a video screen and had on much music - and Train was on singing DOJ. After work yesterday, I immediately went and bought the CD. Then last night I was watching Regis and Kelly, which I usually tape every day, and there was Train again...singing DOJ...they were just awesome. I spent the rest of the night listening to the CD. I love it. I'm going to have to buy the first one now. Please, please...come to Vancouver, BC CanadaKeep up the great songs!

I sincerely apologize...this is the last time that I will address anyone in this manner, besides the band, here...

So, let's all please stop all of this nonsense! It is about the MUSIC and NOTHING ELSE!

Without mentioning any names because I am sure that she will feel guilty and take offense to this anyway, but I seriously think that this board needs to ignor any foolishness that is posted on here and just stick to business. I am sure that Train would only be interested in mature, sane fans and we need to be careful not to all get "scary" and start feeding some adolecent with things to talk back about. Although this board is not for children, some do corrupt it!

First, Iím feeling kind of odd doing this but I canít help itÖ
In my curiosity in how the band came together - I came across that your drummer Scott is from Saratoga Springs, NY - Well Scott, I'm from Lake George - born and raised & a graduate from LGHS way back in '89 (ouch!) and I'm assuming you graduated around that time too. So, being an upstate girl I just wanted to say it is just awesome to see someone from our area go after what they want and succeed ñ Congrats! - Well, that goes to all of you!
Also, I love your music/lyrics...the CD DOJ just can't seem to come off my stereo and believe me I'm not complaining. I'm looking forward to heading up the Hudson from NYC to catch your SPAC show (my first Train Show) on August 19th.Also, I have actually turned on (watch it!) several of my upstate gal pals to your CD and they will be joining me. So, good luck and see you at the races!

Your age exact doesn't seem to be the point. You've missed the purpose of this particular means of self-expression. I understand your need to speak up in your own defense, but people are just trying to convince you of the way this particular board works, and how improperly you're participating. This is not a message board in the sense you seem to think and even on the message board, your tone probably would not be appreciated. You probably need to sit down and write some fan mail (put a stamp on it and send it to the address), which is one way your thoughts might be appreciated for what they are.

Since common sense is not winning out, perhaps we should use the same guidelines for this guestbook that they use for the BBS message board (the other side). I'll copy them here:
Please do not post personal information about artist or yourself - The BBS is not a place to discuss personal information. Do not give out your name or address to anyone asking for this information. DO NOT discuss personal information about the artist - let's stick to music issues. It has also been the cause of many a bbs to perish.
Read All Follow-ups and Don't Repeat What Has Already Been Said - Before you submit a follow-up to a message, read the rest of the messages on the board to see whether someone has already said what you want to say. If someone has, don't repeat it.

Hi, I'm bored so I just came here to write about TRAIN (the worlds greatest band) some more. Train is the most awesome band. I think it's so cool how none of the guys act like they're better than everyone else and the world should be kissing thier...well you get it. Well I'm going to the store to get some lemonade...I love that stuff! A mousquito bit my pinky last night!!! :( Ouch!! I just hought I'd share that with everyone!!! lol Thanks!!! Kandi

I have enjoyed the band's music since I heard "Meet Virginia." And I thoroughly enjoy the Drops Of Jupiter CD. But I was not prepared to hear the band nail "Drops Of Jupiter" and then completely blow me away with their unfrickinbelievable version of Zeppelin's "Ramble On." It will now be a mission to see these guys live. Superb.

i love train.Meet viginia is my favorite song in the whole world.I would do anything to go to one of there concerts! ANYTHING! I love drops of jupiter too but not as much as meet virginia! !I LOVE THIS BAND!
Angie Chavez - Tue Jul 17 09:19:53 EDT 2001
Look, I know that you are (your name's sake)...but SERIOUSLY!!!! Pat IS married! AND he has been for quite some time, I do believe! I believe that they are "childhood sweethearts", if I am not mistaken! AND he has two children! If you own a copy of the cd "Drops of Jupiter", it actually lists ALL of their names...but, just in case you haven't gone out and supported the band by purchasing a copy...His wife's name is Ginean; and his two children are Patrick V. & Emelia. And, by the way, by the way you sound, even if he wasn't married, he is WAY TOO OLD FOR YOU!!! And this board is not for "discussing" Train, really! This is the GUEST BOOK...where people post their comments on the band, for the band to read. I am sure that they are probably just as annoyed as the rest of us that you are just taking up space with a bunch of nonsense! Now PLEASE...GET OVER IT ALREADY! And PS: not all married people wear rings.
getawaygirl - Tue Jul 17 07:56:56 EDT 2001
Absolutely LOVE the new CD " Drops of Jupiter"
Thanks....tina
Tina Bauer - Tue Jul 17 07:45:12 EDT 2001
Dear Train, I would just like to say you guys stand out above all the other bands out there. I(a recovering "pop" fan)have really enjoyed Drops Of Lupiter. To tell the God-to-honest-truth, I wasn't planing on purchasing you're CD.I got it for my birthday from my aunt who heard that I liked some of you're songs. I fell in love with the music, so now I'm planning to buy the other CDs. I'm a music buff. I listen to everything from Miles Davis to Sublime. I'm also a christian. I've tried to cut down on music with explicit lyrics because I'm becoming more active at church and I'm trying to be a good example. I like your music because I can say I'm a fan and not have to be imbarrassed or ashamed. That's not the only reason, but it has alot to do with it. I have alot of respect for the group. All of members are very talented individuals. In a world where bands are made famous because of the way they look and dress and by doing what they're told to do, you guys rise above them. You guys actually HAVE talent. That's very rare now days. I'm happy to see that things are working out for all of you. I didn't want to write sob story. I just wanted to say," Thanks for the music, and you guys can add one more name to your list of many fans." Later dayz and God Bless, MirandaP.S-Don't let fame change you guys.Stay the same.
Miranda S. - Tue Jul 17 01:53:18 EDT 2001
I've been listening to Train since Meet Virgina became popular and I just wanted to say that they are a really good band with a lot of good lyrics and beats to their music

U think I'M scary? no, that was funny seriously, that was hilarious! i am still on the floor laughing sooooo hard, that i am crying!...NOT! Oh yeah and geuss what i've been away from the computer for almost an hour watching the x-files. and guess what else? i have looked on vh1,mtv and almost every other website and all i found was a bunch of B.S.and i have looked on the message board and i think that it also is a buch of B.S. because every 2 minutes i get a message that says some crap about it being up in 15 minutes! so i couldn't care less about it! And obsession is good. i am proud to be obsessed because i have nothing better to do during the summer accept talk on the phone and play the most harsh of the sisy sports, tennis.
Crazy 4 Patrick - Tue Jul 17 01:21:32 EDT 2001
Welcome home, Pat, Jimmy, Rob, Charlie and Scott! Glad to have you back in the states. Sounds like you had a great trip. Really enjoyed the Europe pics! Hope you guys get some rest now. See you on the MB 20 tour!
Dina - Tue Jul 17 01:16:30 EDT 2001
Okay beggar, you are scary because you have posted something like 20 ridiculous messages within the last 12 hours. GET AWAY FROM THE COMPUTER. Look on the message board. Look on VH1, MTV, and Rolling Stone sites etc. for info. Just think about when Pat comes to read this board: he and his leather pants and his cute scar will run as far away from you as his married feet can take him. There is a difference between appreciated fan and OBSESSED fan. Obsession is BAD.

Crazy 4 Patrick - Mon Jul 16 23:40:03 EDT 2001
I've just recently become a fan of your music. I went out & bought both CD's. The first one is pretty good but I absolutely LOVE the Drops of Jupiter CD. Hopeless is one of my favorites! Whipping Boy is great too. I can't wait until the August 4th concert here in Ohio at Blossom Music Center w/Matchbox Twenty. We have 15th & 16th row seats!! I'd love to be able to get an autograph or picture but doubt I'll get close enough! My daughter thinks Jimmy is cute; she likes his bald head! If he has a "significant other"; tell her not to worry, Bridget is only 4! I, personally, think Pat is very nice looking! I love the leather pants you're wearing in the "Drops of Jupiter" video. Apparently run-ning suits you! I also love your scar on your chin; reminds me of Harrison Ford - he has one very similar to it in the same spot. Your friends should call you "Indy" (Indiana Jones). Keep the GREAT music coming!! Looking very forward to seeing you live in a few weeks at Blossom! If it's not too hot out that night, maybe Pat can wear the black leather pants?!?!?

If I could ride this slide into forever What would I give to getaway That pain that stayed Seemed like forever What would you give to getaway
I know this is how I could be over you You know this is not another waste of time All this holding on canít be wrong Just come back to me and I am not alone
You had your man your fan but not forever You should have let him You should have let him getaway But your pride made you ride on this slide by his side to his lies Seemed like forever What would you give to getaway
I know this is how I could be over you You know this is not another waste of time All this holding on canít be wrong Just come back to me so I am not alone To getaway To getaway To getaway To getaway
I know this is how I could be over you You know this is not another waste of time All this holding on canít be wrong And I know this is how I could be over you You know that I am not another waste of time All this holding on canít be wrong If you come back to me so I am not alone To getawayÖ

Now that she's back in the atmosphere With drops of Jupiter in her hair, hey, hey She acts like summer and walks like rain Reminds me that there's time to change, hey, hey Since the return from her stay on the moon She listens like spring and she talks like June, hey, hey
Tell me did you sail across the sun Did you make it to the Milky Way to see the lights all faded And that heaven is overrated
Tell me, did you fall for a shooting star One without a permanent scar And did you miss me while you were looking at yourself out there
Now that she's back from that soul vacation Tracing her way through the constellation, hey, hey She checks out Mozart while she does tae-bo Reminds me that there's time to grow, hey, hey
Now that she's back in the atmosphere I'm afraid that she might think of me as plain ol' Jane Told a story about a man who is too afraid to fly so he never did land
Tell me did the wind sweep you off your feet Did you finally get the chance to dance along the light of day And head back to the Milky Way And tell me, did Venus blow your mind Was it everything you wanted to find And did you miss me while you were looking for yourself out there
Can you imagine no love, pride, deep-fried chicken Your best friend always sticking up for you even when I know you're wrong Can you imagine no first dance, freeze dried romance five-hour phone conversation The best soy latte that you ever had . . . and me
Tell me did the wind sweep you off your feet Did you finally get the chance to dance along the light of day And head back toward the Milky Way

Damnation, why does this guest book always have some post on it about whether or not Pat is married? This is a GUEST book (and a posting place when the bbs is crazy of course haha) -- that the band reads. Use the MESSAGE BOARD for such things. Pat knows whether or not he's married (he is). Leave it at that. Just blowin' off some steam.

When my baby came home, the first night of getting up with her, drops of jupiter came on and i watched the video and started to cry. I have this thing with words in a song and I tend to make up my own video in my head. I had this picture of my baby running thrue the stars and looking down at me waiting for me to get my life together before she would come home. You see it took me ten years to have her. Now when I here the song anywhere even in my head, a tear roles out of my eye and down my face. I have never been happier in my life, I never thought she would come home.

It has been a while since I've been online: too much working and partying. I was very lucky to be able to order the self-titled album through the internet, because it's not available in stores here --> that HAS TO change. I just heard the CD once, but I love it!!!
Chantal - Sun Jul 15 15:41:22 EDT 2001
ok...first let me say that i love the music, all of it. but, i have a question. on the self-titled album lyrics, it shows a picture of the actual hand-written lyrics. why is that not shown on the latest album's lyric page? just wondering.

Hello, My name is Angie and I wanted to express my appreciation to you for making your CD "Drops of Jupiter". I have just recently purchased it and was totally amazed by the depths of your lyrics and the harmony of the sound you put to those words. Thank you for being a band that is a blessing to all who hear and believe. You truly are a gift from above. It is out of great pain and sorrow that true beauty is created. Please keep this alive and living, never let your music die or fade away. Enjoy your gift as you share it with others. May the Lord bless you and keep you in all your endeavors. Thank you so very much for allowing me to be apart of yours.

Haven't watched music videos in years... but look forward to seeing you guys on the screen. Haven't purchased a c.d. in ages... but had to have this latest release. If anyone in the band reads this, and I hope you do, I just wanted to say, "You are amazing." There, now that the obvious has been stated, I'll make my heartfelt request- that your band spend more time in California playing gigs. It would feed my soul to hear you guys play live- seriously. I saw on the "tour page" that y'all havetwo gigs in Cali, and none of them are at the Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View- thank you for that- it would be a sold out show for sure, but I know I wouldn't get a very good seat. What I'm into is seeing you guys in a small-ish - sized club or something somewhere. Please, please PLEase stay longer in California so I can use all my sick days at work for something as worthwhile and soulful as hearing, nay, WATChing you guys play somewhere... Thanx for reading this!~Ash

once in a while a song comes by.... and it's magic.I was reading when my son was zapping along music channels on TV. Then I heard a fragment of a song and I said, "switch back". For almost 2 weeks it was daily on The Music Factory (The Netherlands) and to my astonishment, there was NO mention whatsoever of the band or the name of the song. Ain't that nice? It's kinda strange that both my son (13) and i (rich 50!) like this song a lot.wonderful, timeless, classic song.and it is dearly welcomed to the category of other jewels that i treasure.
Guys, wishing you luck to create other songs that are as thrilling and heartwarming as this one.

They DO read these guest book and message board posts from time to time. From what I understand, a couple of them have laptops on the road. There was a discussion on the message board last week about the Monkeys and the next Road update made reference to the Monkeys. Also, earlier in the year, someone on this board we had lengthy discussions on cover tunes - at the same time, a dude named Daniel was bagging on the band. The next Road notes (April 12) said something about the guys wanting to do the Elton John cover "Daniel." There are others, I just can't remember them.
With that info ... carry on ...

hey,
My name is Whitney, and I am 13 years old. The first time i heard your song "drops of jupiter" i was like " oh my god ! this song is so good!:)who sings it?" as soon as i found out it was you, i bought the CD, and listen to it everyday. I remember one time, me and my ex boyfriend(who i still love) were fighting at his house...he got upset and climbed out his window..i felt bad, so i clumbed up there, and oh boy was it high! and i am scared to death of hights, but i jumped out and ran after him, and cheered him back up, by singin drops of jupiter to him. i can remember how we were just layin on his bed singing it to eachother, lookin in eacothers eyes, and smiling. i wish i couldve stayed in that moment forever. not even a week ago, he broke up with me. so ever since then all i do is lay in my room, listen to "drops of jupiter' over and over, and think about him. he always used to tell me that he would never leae me because he cant live without me..but i guess he can. i miss him so much. i wish we could still be together now. Well, sorry for teling you that, i mean, like you care:) i just wanted to tell you that i love you guys so much! and if its not too much to ask, could you reply? i'll understand if you dont.
luv ya lotz,whitney

Hi guys, I'm the Senior Hair Designer for the "Hair it Goes" Salon in NYC (I assure you, it's very upscale). Just wanted to let you now how FANTASTIC I think you are, BUT you should try the new hair styles that are merging together right now. Not to mimic the BOY BANDS out there, but all your "looks" are so much alike that you should really add a little glam. You know, the blong tinting just on the ends with a bit of spikey hair gel would only help you guys. It could even put you on top (oops, that's just my favorite position).
And... about the clothes. Why don't you where nothing at all and take pictures in complete darkness - the only light is that of the flash. Very new century.
I wish you all the best - because what I say happens - really! Don't get derailed now (get it - ha!), you guys just keep chuggin' along - ya hear?!! Whoooo hooooo!

Miss the boat, the car or the plane but whatever you do don't miss the Train. This group has an excellent balance of lyrics, timing, and melody.
Patrick Monahan, Charlie Colin, Rob Hotchkiss, Jimmy Stafford and Scott Underwood are clearly rising stars in this industry.
Keep up the great music, loking forward to your next release.
Cordially yours,
Patrick Monahan (no relation)

Now, I know you sang "Meet Virginia" and I love that song. Then Drops of Jupiter came out and I was hooked...so I thought. I bought Drops of Jupiter two days ago and my poor CD is melting as I write. I haven't given it a rest and I don't plan on it! Every single song on this albulm is absoulutly perfect. So much feeling and honesty it just grabbed me and brought me for the ultimate joyride. i think train is a great band, and the musicianship is excellent. i was reading some of the comments on lyricfind.com, comparing their sound to that of third eye blind or the black crowes, but i feel the band has it's own sound. pat monohan does sound a bit like adam duritz on drops of jupiter but the rest of the album takes on it's own flavour. keep up the good work

Hi guys, I'm the Senior Post-Production Editor for Time Warner Cable in NYC. Just wanted to let you now how fantastic your new CD is. Drops of Jupiter is my favorite CD right now. Must have listened to it at least 50 times in the past two weeks. The title tune is just phenomenol. The whole CD reminds me of the great days of "Dark Side of the Moon" for some reason. On the next CD, try merging one song into another. Not to mimic Pink Floyd necessarily, but all your songs compliment each other, and so, belong to each other. As far as the group picture on the back of the CD, don't where street clothes. You guys are much to cool for that. Where very expensive suits. And instead of a day time shot, go with a Twilight time shot standing next to the most modern advanced train in the world. The one in Japan. If not possible, the one that takes people from England to France. This advice couldn't hurt and will most likely, put you over the top. Best of luck with the Drops Of Jupiter CD, which hopefully will be voted "album of the year." Give us more you "MEGA TRAIN!" This music is on the right track. Thanks Again, L. Lane

hey, don't judge us norwegians that way ;)i've been a rather big fan of train for some time.. couldn't help the poor losers in the front row, tho. they just didn't know how to move, did they ? they were waiting for k's choice, and you'd think they would go crazy once they got to see them, but nooo... anyway, just wanted to thank you guys for the excellent concert ! it was fabulous. great set. i surely had a good time on the second row. and i didn't know you were such a good dancer, pat ;) i hope i get to see you again, maybe with a bit more cooperative crowd !thanks again, love embla

A week ago, if you'd asked me my favourite bands, I woulda said "easy: Matchbox Twenty, Goo Goo Dolls, and Counting Crows". Having heard Drops of Jupiter, I think you'll agree Train are well-worthy of a spot alongside those bands. Dont ever change you guys.Nickx
Nick - Thu Jul 12 13:59:34 EDT 2001
Shivers!!! The album is amazing. I'm sure you've all heard this enough, but Drops of Jupiter is easily one of the best songs I've ever heard. In forty years, I'll still be singing that song. In sixty years I'll sing it to my grandchildren. I know every word and I actually cried once. I don't know what it is, but thank you for your music. You guys rock! Can't wait to see you in Anaheim.
Julie - Thu Jul 12 12:58:44 EDT 2001
I would just like to thank the guys in Train for being such a great band. The new albumn has the greatest songs on it, and it helped me get through a pretty rough break-up. I'm super duper sad I can't come see you guys when you play with Matchbox 20 in New Jersey! I don't know what to do, but I'm gonna get to see you guys some how! Thanks for the great music that helped me through the tears of loosing my love. RAWK ON!

Hi I'm Tracey from Australia, last night I was watching 'The Panel' on T.V. and towards the end of the show I saw a band behind the hosts desk and thought it was the shows regular band. They announced a band called 'Train', you guys blew me away the passion the lead singer(I'm sorry I don't know his name) showed for his love of music and the song "Drops of Jupiter" just made me melt.I'm hooked and I will be purchasing your C.D. tomorrow. Great work, I have heard the song a few times on the radio and I must admit I didn't give it much thought until I saw Train perform live, the band looks great and sounds fantastic.I will be sharing my thoughts with my other music lover friends and hopefully they will have the same reaction. Great music, sound and passion - keep on doing what the band obviously does best... Tracey...

I cannot believe what y'all did on the Tonight Show. That was the most unbeliveable live singing and playing I have ever heard. I have never heard a band perform a hit song on that show that sounded anything like what you hear on the radio. You guys blasted everyone, strong vocals, great music, excellent backup vocalizing. True musicians, I am now a fan of your music and style and hope to see y'all live when you play in Phoenix (if this 35 year old body can sneak out long enough from wife who likes both styles of music, Country AND Wester, and three kids that are still BSB, Nsync, and Speared, grin). Congrats on a successful album...err...CD and an excellent song that sends me daydreaming like a heart sicken teenager everytime I hear it!! Being an estrogen-infested female, I have to say that I enjoy watching Patrick Monahan sing. The passion that I see in his eyes is just indescribable. His voice transcendent. The music that the group makes is something that I would listen to over and over again, and yet never tire of it.If anything, I love it more as I listen to it more. This is a mere message in which its main purpose is basically narrowed down to the fact that I love the group, I love watching Monahan perform, I love his voice, and I hope that the group shall continue to make music in the following years to come. With that said, I shall now take my leave and bid you readers adieu.Adieu

THE BLACK CROWES WERE MY FAVORITE BAND UNTIL THE RELEASE OF "DROPS OF JUPITER". SURE THEY BOTH PLAY FROM THE HEART, WITH EMOTION. I THINK THE TRAIN SOUND IS MORE LIKE THE COUNTING CROWS. ANOTHER BAND WITH STRONG VOCALS, TALENTED MUSICIANS AND HEART-FELT SONGS. I'M JUST THANKFUL THERE ARE BANDS PLAYING MUSIC THAT MEANS SOMETHING MORE, TRUE ARTISTS.

When you get 5 guys together to form a band they are bringing 5 identies, 5 personalities, into it to hopefully make some magic, (Which as we ALL know happened here!), now if they just happen to sound like the black crowes which I don't happen to share that opinion, it's not their fault, thats the way it comes out, you can't blame them for that, and who the hell cares anyway? Just petty, jealous little peeons(I'll bet I spelled that wrong but it fits!) Bite you!!!!!!!!!

Ok ~ You know that you have got it bad, when you are on a "road trip" with your best friend, listening to Train (of course!), and you are (both) doing Pat's dance moves and facial expressions to every song. What a blast! Just had a great Vegas "road trip" and listened to DOJ the whole way there, self-titled all the way home! Also, had a great idea...to all of the women planning on going to the Aladdin show...We should do a "spa day" to pamper ourselves & relax before the show. (Mandalay Bay has the BEST spa on the strip...or anywhere that I've ever been to!) It would be such a great day! And as for Pat, Jimmy, Rob, Scott and Charlie...I'd invite you guys, but clothing is optional, and I don't think that they'd let you guys in!? lol! Anyway, if anyone is interested, my friend(s) and I are definitely doing the "Spa Mandalay" thing the day of the Aladdin show! Let me know if you are interested! Aaahhh! Help! I am going through Train withdrawls! I can't wait until September! Come back now! Please...I might not make it! (Oh, all right...I guess I will.)

I didn't stay up to watch them sing "Drops of Jupiter," AGAIN!!! Your thoughts;are mine. i bought the cd for the tune "drops of jupiter". a friend said it reminded him of me, i've discovered a new dimension in sobriety! i'm sure that's not what the tune was about, but then again, i supposed it's according to who's listening as to how they can relate. next fave is rollin, to that i relate to the relationship with "the friend" who is still using, and to my mother, who died of this disease i have. respect is pretty groovy. mississippi, is a class act.the entire cd is an artistic phenomenon. how did you guys do all that on one cd?love you hard............Namaste

Have any of you Train fans noticed that the singer's voice sounds exactly (and i mean exactly) like Chris Robinson of The Black Crowes? So does the music for that matter. Yet, somehow, this band's popularity has skyrocketed past that of the Crowes, even though they are a clear ripoff of the Crowes. I guess it takes nothing to be a hit these days, just find a sound that's already been done and copy it. So, remember kids, originality will not make you famous. Your fame will come from ripping your sound off from someone else.

Hello all!! A special welcome to all of you Dutch people who are discovering (spelling??) Train. I agree with you Patrick that it's nice to keep it intimate with just few people knowing about Train, but then they might think of skipping Amsterdam. I sure hope they won't. I just want to prevent that. And besides, I wouldn't want anybody to miss this beautiful music.Groetjes en kusjesChantal

Train is about the best band i've heard. Unlike all of those other groups and bands who say that they are always going to be the same old music style. Train has it all so they are different. Different is great. I was looking all over for this CD that had Drops of Jupiter on it and i finally find it. "Wow". Thats exzactly what i'd said. It was almost impossible to find except in the london drugs i'd got it from. Now I play Drops of Jupiter (the CD not the song) on repeat all the time and my mom says "shut it off or you'll get bored of it before its even a week old". well now its like 3 days old and its still the first time thrill of listening(even though I know all of the words;)). Well that first time thrill will go on for a very long time because when you are on a lazy day it all seems to be soft, relaxing music. Yet on a great, sunny day it all seems to be uplifting and nice. I like every last song on the CD and cant wait until Train puts out another one.
Kari Latka - Tue Jul 10 14:16:53 EDT 2001
Dear Pat and Train and who ever wrote Drops of Jupiter,
For the sake of not sounding like some teen groupie, I just wanted to say that the song has touched my heart and soul. I swear, you know me and my husband, because I feel like he's thinking exactly what you are saying.
There are many lines in your songs that move me."I've never had a day where money didn't get in my way.""Always Stickin' up for your best friend..even when I know your wrong."
Amazing stuff, guys. There are many listening. Many being moved.

I bought Train's two albums on a recent trip to the States and was knocked out by them - a fab band. They have jsut been in London doing promo work. Is there any plans for a UK tour and is so will they play gigs in Scotland?

When I first heard your metaphoric Drops Of Jupiter on the radio a few days ago, it brought tears to my eyes. What an incredible, overwhelming and mindblowing song! I love music, can't imagine life without it, but I hadn't been so deeply touched and surprised by a song -both music and lyrics- in a long time. Thanks! Looking forward to your next European tour, don't forget to swing by in Amsterdam!

I just wanted to express my appreciation in regards to Pat (and of course, the guys). In these days of angst written, scream-"cuz I cant sing"-write about something dark-my parents never loved me crap-waa waa waa-give me a break! I just think its great to hear someone who has such an awesome voice, someone who can really express lyrics, in the way Steve Perry, Lou Graham, Bob Seger, Steven Tyler, and Danny Elfman, guys who sang with heart, and really are talented in not just the vocal dept., but who gave you something that inspired you to sing, and feel good about it!!! I think "Free", "Meet Virginia", and "Drops" are some of the best "written", and without a doubt, "sung" tunes I've heard in my 33 years. I play bass, guitar, and do some singing myself, so I consider myself someone whoknows talent when I hear it. I dont believe just because something doesnt appeal to me that it "sucks", because that is ignorant, but it just seemsthat either everyone trys to sound like Scott Stipe (i think thats how they spell it), or Eddie Veder, or it just depends how "goofy" the band is...I just dont get it !! Its all about "express yourself", even if you make an "ASS" of yourself!! The poor blacks have no one to represent themin todays music, like Stevie Wonder, or Jeffery Osborne, or James Ingram, there isnt a black artist today that even comes close. Its all about BASS-HOES-and the GHETTO! WAA WAA WAA-There goes the neighborhood!! I will end in a positive note with a "Thank You Pat ", thanks for restoring my hope, I think your guy's musicwith last a lifetime!! God Bless-BOB

Hey Chayla ,I gurantee that once you finally buy the cd ( what are you waiting for?!?!?!) you won't be able to take it out of your cd player for a long long long long long long time :)That is unless of course you have the first self titled cd as well , which might I add is a superior Cd in it self , in which case they'' battle it out for your cd player. Might i add that you should burn them as soon as you get them cause otherwise you may wear them out ( like i did, but had no problem buying a couple of more) BTW- don't know if you know this, but there is a little making of drops of jupiter video on the cd and is just the best :)

If the songs on the album are half as good as the single, I'm sure that it'll be one of my favorites! Luvya'll! Chayla

It's an oxymoron, but you have it. You, along with other great bands such as Matchbox 20, Lifehouse, Third Eye Blind, Live, and some others really strike a chord with my taste in music. It's almost like everything you do is always new and so spirited that it's impossible to turn off. I'm glad I took a chance on a band that I wasn't really that sure of. I totally won on this bet! Keep the music coming, and please, visit Atlantic Canada, namely Halifax, Nova Scotia, sometime soon. We'd love to have you. Cheers!
Darren - Mon Jul 9 14:01:46 EDT 2001
I have to honestly say that i have never heard of train before i heard the song "Drops Of Jupiter", and since then about 3 weeks ago i have been hooked! Same thing happened with Matchbox 20! Only with Train i love the vocals of Patrick, it's just so, emotional, like he means what he says, very much like Phil Collins, in that he puts his heart and soul into what he is singing. Patrick is a cradit to the music industry, not forgetting the rest of the band, from what Patrick says in the bio of your page, you are his second family and so credit is also due to you. So now i will just say good luck for the future and hurry up and visit england so i can see you guys live. Keep up the good work!

I LOVE TRAIN!!!! thank you guys so much, the first song i ever heard of yours was meet virginia, and i was w/ my friend in her dad's suburban. we were driving home from our acting group and he played it on his cd, and we kept on saying "again! louder!" he played it like, 5x. he passed away 2 weeks ago, and whenever i hear your music, i think of him. he loved you guys, he went to one of your concerts, and had your cd. thank you for your music. :)

I wanna thank you for becoming a band and making such beautiful music, which has had such an impact on me and my life. you've put all my feelings into words that mean so much more than jibberish. (pop, a mixture of no imagination, no creativity, no sense of rock or conscienceness, it is very painfull when your out in a club and your dancing on sisqo for suddenly you have to stop and sit and get ready to puke because the dj has decided to put on some crap train pop at full blast)Train is just pop, maybe the people like zeke and train band are rong i mean they can't judge people for their bad taste.or maybe these people just want to take a piss of you for being so fatfull to such crap. you see it surely takes them 1 minute and a half to write down their thoughs and take you the exact same to reply to them and they win because of that. you see, your pissed at them because their usless involvement reflects your useless involvment on the internet you know deep inside that writing on the message board is dickless seeing most of you are women not only in the direct sense but these felaz who do that to are women. Missed your show in Charlotte, NC at the Tramont Music Hall. Thought there would not be a problem getting in on a Monday night. Wrong. Good news is that night my wife and I strolled through downtown and kinda renewed our feelings for each other. Funny how things work out that way. Anyhow, I'm a big fan. Thought the first two works were incredible. I Like Drops Of Jupiter but not like the first two. Your musicianship and lyrics renewed my faith in R&R (yes, I'm over 40 but hope to be playing and listening until my ashes are blown to the winds of North Carolina). I even got my wife to get into you guys (she used to buy Barry Manilow before she met me). Doens't look like you'll be getting back to this area soon which bums me out, but keep at it! You guys seem to have inside what I believe the music is all about. I'll be patient. Enjoy Europe. I did.

I had to order the Drops of Jupiter album from America, because it is incredibly hard to get hold of any of your material here is England. Importing the album took a lot of time and was quite expensive, but i received the album today and i have already played it about 15 times - it was worth the hassle! I see more and more people from Holland discouvering Train, like I did, very good. Here an update of Train's position in the Dutch charts. In the (so called) mega top 100, Drops of Jupiter is at 53 coming from 65. In the (so called) Wanadoo top 40 Drops of Jupiter enters at 33 this week. In the album chart top 100, Train enters at 86. Not bad considering that Reamonn with Supergirl is at 4 in the charts, while his album enters at 96. Now after all these dull numbers just an old message: TRAIN IS THE BEST!!!Groetjes en kusjes

i just wanted to tell the guys from train, that you guys are truly awesome. God has given you guys a gift, and ya'll have spent it beautifully. your music is truly music, it's authentic, and original. your themes aern't just about falling in love, but it talks about everything else that goes with it. who would have thought about going to the milky way an falling in love? it's the most amazing lyrics i've ever heard, and it's inspiring music as well, you can truly call yourselves song-writers, and musicians. thanks for sharing it with the rest of the world. we truly appreciate it. keep up the amazing work, and never forget us, your fans, and God bless.

I cannot wait for August 29 to get here so I can see them live. I will be there in the front.Gazing deeply into Pat's eyes. And then, the whole band will never forget me or their experienceat Oak Mountain. But that's my story. You all take care and keep listening to good musiclike Train. DO NOT AND I REPEAT, DO NOT listen to crap like bsb or n'suc or britney spears. They will corrupt your mind into nothing.

I'm an ignorant jerk and enjoy posting these stupid things. I mean, it's getting me some sort of attention, right? That's better than what I usually get.
But in all honestly, I have a peepee that's one and a half inches long and am lashing out because I'm angry about it. Oh, and I'm also ugly and was dropped on my head when I was a baby.
Please take pity on me. I really want to be a rock star and know I don't have a chance.

Big Hello to Train. Just had to say thanks for being one of the rare few bands who can not only write and amazing song (Drops of Jupiter), but also an amazing album. I feared it would be another "one-hit-wonder" job, but you guys blew me away! What a pleasant surprise to relish every song! Your lyrics are refreshing and creative and the melodies are soothing and so instrumentally well blended. Brilliant work! Again, THANK-YOU, and come out with another album real soon.Sandy.

Respect has always been one of my faforite songs on the CD, but yesterday I finally realized why, My oldest son has been in and out of trouble for what seems like forever, but its always me he runs back even though he is always treating me like dirt, and I'm dumb enough to let him. Anyway, he's staying with me now for a week(?), till he finds a new apartment and yes attitude is still in tow, I was listening to respect yesterday and I said, I know now who this reminds me of-it's you and how you've treated me all these years, I don't think he got it!!!!!!

Just a little question: When the album wasn't released here I've got an copy from someone on icq. And first of all Hopeless is different, and on the copy there was after Let it Roll, some violins. And on the one I've bought in the store, I miss that. I'm I losing my mind here or is there really some difference (in that case I have to kick someones ass)
Jill (the Dutch one) - Thu Jul 5 06:41:10 EDT 2001
Your Album Drops of Jupiter, is the best combination of talent and lyrics that I have heard in a long time. You went over the top with this one, I can really touch base with a few of the songs! The songs that really touched me are: Drops of Jupiter, because they remind me so much of a friend of mine and the heartache and recovery from a very violent relationship and the soul searching she had to do!! Another is Something more, this one reflects the way I felt after messing up with a realtionship 4 years ago and all the mistakes I made, how crazy things got with my life trying to make it work!!!And finally, but not the last song I relate to but the last I will discuss. It would have to be Respect, this one suits me the most because of the way I feel day to day waiting for good things to happen around me, to me and everyone that I know who has been put down in some way or another!!Great job guys, best of luck, and I hope you come up to Canada, hopefully Saskatchewan in the future

Earlier, I was sitting on the side of the road waiting for the parade to come through, and I was sitting next to these people (I swear, they're either crazy, or had Waaaay to much sugar) were talking about this song they like by a band named train. They said it was called Jupier something. SO I just kinda invited myself into thier conversation and started telling them it is DROPS OF Jupiter. THen they asked all these Q's about the band and I was able to answer every single one!! :D:D (I'm proud of myself for that!) THen the firetrucks started coming and I was practically attcked by little kids running after candy. I had a good day.

Just thought you should know the Train Flipbook has a mistake in it. They reversed Rob and Jimmy's names. I did send them an e-mail about the error, but I'm sure if someone from your management contacted them they'd correct it a lot quicker. Like everyone else here, I'm addicted to DOJ. Can't seem to bring myself to listen to anything else, except the self titled CD of course! Hope to get to one of the MB20 tour shows. Keep on making that wonderful music!I hope you do read your e-mail, I sent you some info on the NY venue. Hope you can use it! It would make my day to actually get a reply!!

Say the band Train on the Rosie O'Donnell show a few weeks back and went WOW! Rosie comes on twice a day in my neighbourhood so the next time she came around, I had video in hand and recorded Train's performance. I have since bought their CD, "Drops of Jupiter" and as a matter of fact am listening to it now as we speak. I just want to say "Good Job Guys". You know, you buy a CD for one song (as was the case here) and usually the rest of the CD sucks. Not the case in this instance. Every track is excellent and I just wanted to say thank you to all involved in this project. I look forward to the next CD. Keep them coming guys, you're allright. Take care. Marlene

The message board is so fun! I swear! Some of those cover songs people are picking...I'm tell'in ya, they're pretty wierd. I couldn't even Imagine train doing some of those! lol, but It would be fun to see!
Kandi - Mon Jul 2 21:07:59 EDT 2001
Well, it was one hell of an afternoon...! Not only was it hot, the festival was kinda....y`know... ;-) Different kinds of music, so different kinds of people....
Anyway....the band started 20 minutes late... There was a problem with Rob`s keyboard, but it worked out okay... The band got introduced as 'the next best thing', and a lot of critics think the band will be huge here... Let`s just wait and see...!
They opened with It`s Love. A great tune, never thought they`d play it live, but it rocked...! You couldn`t really hear Pat`s voice, but when that was adjusted it got a lot better... At one point you could barely hear Jimmy`s guitar, but that was solved too... So, a lot of soundproblems, but still...it didn`t ruin my fun!
They went on with Free, Ramble On (Oh My God!!!! Amazing, kick-ass song!), Meet Virginia, She`s On Fire and Drops Of Jupiter... Surprisingly, they only played two songs from the new album... I know they were planning for more, but they were short on time... I noticed they had the mandolin ready (I Wish You Would?), but too bad...
After the show we waited for a long time... We weren`t as lucky as Patrick (I`ll mail you soon man!), so we didn`t see them until we left the park... Aileen (you rock!) noticed them standing behind the big fence...and when Pat noticed we were waving, he walked up to us... They were busy with an interview, but he was nice enough to come back afterwards to take some pictures... After that, he got the entire band to make some more...
I know I`m already looking forward to October...I know it`ll be a blast...!!
And Jill....I do have ICQ...don`t use it as much as I did...but still... Just search with my email-addy: aj.terlouw@icu.nl.

Hello to everyone, especially AJ and Aileen!!A big welcome to the new (??) Dutch Train Fans Kika, Patrick and Jill!!I just want to say that it was great to see Train perform for real yesterday. Too bad they only played that short and just 2 songs from the new album. But it was absolutely fantastic to meet them, get their autographs, talk to them, take a picture. I didn't get a tshirt and Scott's autograph but that couldn't for one minute spoil my day. I'm absolutely sure I want to see them again. Fantastic!!Groetjes en kusjesChantal

I guess running away isn't such a smart thing after all. I thought over the concequences and it's not so smart. I love concerts and stuff, but the thing is, is that you can't always get what you want such as life may not be the best for you and your parents may be stricked like mine, but you just have to wait. Wait for the opportunity to get what you want, not make it happen by being and doing stupid things that most likely are going to turn out bad in the end.I love Train and their music, but it isn't worth risking your life or going to juvi.Anyone who is reading this and is thinking of doing something you know is wrong and that you're not going to get away with(such as running off to concerts to get away from the hard ships of life) take my advice and don't do it. Some things you don't expect will happen. So if you get some great advice from somebody like I did on this very site. . .take it, it's a life changing thing that will turn your head around and toward the right direction. Now that everything is all right with me, something good happened on my birthday. I got some tickets to a concert (not Train tickets), but another great band, Bare Nakid Ladies. If you haven't heard of them they to have some touching songs that you may very much like if you like Drops of Jupiter.
Just another Train fan, Alex

Jill, maybe you did see me, I was the girl in the pink shirt....

Aileen - Sun Jul 1 16:04:58 EDT 2001
OMG just saw TRAIN, FRONT ROW, baby!!!!!
It was amazing but soo short :(They kicked off with It's Love, then 2 songs I didn't know, Meet Virginia, She's on Fire and the the last song already: Drops Of Jupiter. So they only played 6 songs and during those 6 songs I toke over 20 pics ;)And off course the famous Tae-bo kick, I've got it on photo ;)
The funniest thing was that during the 3rd song I noticed the cool pants Pat Monahan was wearing. Then I was looking closer, hey that looks like my pants (I have 2 the same pants, in 2 different colours, darkblue and lightblue and I was wearing the light blue one) and then I was comparing the lines on the pants with the pants that I was wearing and taddaaa HE HAD THE SAME PANTS AS ME ;) (only he had the dark one). That was sooooo funny ;)
You guys need to come back to Holland Soon, for a full concert!!!!

I first heard of train on Mark & Brian on KLOS out here in L.A. I loved their music style the first time I heard it. I bought "Drops of Jupiter" because I loved that song, but after listening to the whole CD, I love the song "Mississippi" just as much. Thank you Train, for making music that sounds like music and not garbage.

Thank you Train for make such beautiful and motivating music. Me and my girlfriend (Rebecca) love your new album. We are going to see you play with Matchbox 20 when you all come to Knoxville. Your music has inspired me and also showed me that there still is real music out there. I believe todays music lacks feeling but your guys music is full of emotion and meaning. I can't thank you guys enough. You are a truly talented group and I hope God continues to bless Train for many many years.

But it was just some guy with a shaved head pushing a stroller around. Damn. But why would they be in the smallest, most BORING town in Michigan anyways? lol stupid...

I'm sure you get messages on these boards all the time about how wonderful you guys are, etc., but I feel compelled to add one more. I was a big fan of your self-titled album, but Drops of Jupiter is just a phenomenal album. Every song on it is so well-written, from the seemingly made-for-pop-radio Title track to She's On Fire and everything in between. I would have to say that my two favorite tracks are Hopelessly and Mississippi. The hook to Mississippi, "They call her Mississippi, but she don't flow to me" is great. I really admire both your musicianship and your lyrical prowess, and I look forward to hearing an even better follow up album.
Michelle - Sun Jul 1 02:45:50 EDT 2001
I am going to see you guys live on August 14th, you are with Matchbox 20. And I just can't wait. I would love to meet you in person if there is anyway, would you let me know!Love

Look, I know everyone would love to know the meaning to DOJ. But ppl. No song means the same to everyone. The meaning of the song is something deep within the band. The meaning of the song to you is what it makes you feel when you hear it. The thoughts that go through your head and the emotions you feel as you listen. Don't try so hard to figure out what they mean by the song. Just listen to it and feel what you feel. If they wanted you to feel what they feel when they write, they would put a note by each song saying..."This song means... and you are suppose to fell... when you hear it." Just listen to it, love it, and feel it. You all are driving me crazy. That's all I ever see on the message board. "Does anyone know the meaning to Drops Of Jupiter?" It's a retorical question and the answer it....
They want you to feel what you feel. Not what they felt when they wrote it. What would the point in that be? For us to feel the same thing? If that were the case, we might as well write our own songs and not listen to theirs ya know? Once again... Just listen, love, and feel what you feel. Take care.
Sarah - Sat Jun 30 14:34:34 EDT 2001

Ok - I feel like a 17 year old pop fan - and I am definitely not either one - but I frickin' love Drops of Jupiter. As a 30 yr old "Man's man" who grew up on AC/DC, Aerosmith and bluesy hard rock, I'm amazed that I constantly scan my radio dial for this song. I've been screwing around on the Internet tonight and checking out Train fan sites, and I'm a little surprised that I haven't found one reference to the Beatles-like sound of this tune. Drops of Jupiter could have been smack in the middle of side 2 of Abbey Road. Anyone else out there see what I'm talking about?
Jake - Sat Jun 30 03:26:41 EDT 2001
i was just wondering if anyone could tell me what is the deeper meaning behind the song "Drops of Jupiter". I love the song to death and train is one of my favorite bands, but im having a little trouble finding out what the song is actually about. I would really appreciate it if someone could help me out.
Thanks,
Darby

Hey guys, sittin here listening to your cd, reading your notes from the road and checking out the pics. Looks like you're having a great time. It's wonderful to see someone living their dream! I think the best line you've written is "its not just a daydream if you decide to make it your life" I think the world would be a happier place if more people would go for their dreams. Your music is awesome & inspiring. Thank you soooo much for sharing your dream with us(your fans)!!My dream was to skydive someday. 5 yrs ago I decided to just go for it and been jumping ever since. I listen to DOJ cd on the way to the drop zone and have your music in my head while I'm falling through the sky. It's awesome! If any of you guys ever like to try jumping out of a perfectly good airplane, let me know, I could set it up. I'll be seein in Sacremento. Blue Skys Dana

I recently bought Train's new cd, "Drops Of Jupiter", and i am amazed... They are so dedicated to their music and it shows... It takes alot to earn my respect seeing as there are so many manufactured bands around today, but Train has managed to... As a fellow musician I wish them all the best and hope they go far... :)

I saw Train for the first time at Buzzfest 2000 in Houston Texas. I remember the headliner was Lenny Kravitz. I had never seen Train before and I totally fell in love with their music. Poor Patrick had on a red or orange colored sweater and sweating to death. Later on after the concert, I met them at a friends house. Patrick was standing alone in the living room by himself while there was hundreds of people in my friends house. I stood there for a moment and realized who he was and walked up to him and he is a very genuine person. We poked our fingers in chocolates to find out if they were the kind we liked or not. He was very real. I have never forgotten them singing in my friends living room after the concert. It was such a wonderful moment and I wanted to share it with the band. I know they probably have a lot of moments like that. Their talent overwhelmed me and I am a huge live music fan when I can be, most of the time I am delivering babies, that is what I do for a living. I have been a fan of Train ever since and have gone to see them in 4 different cities. Please don't stop making music. Thanks!!
