Trains to Richmond
Arriving at Richmond station brings you directly into the heart of this attractive southwest London town. Heading south along Kew Road and George Street will bring you to the main shopping area, with its flurry of cafes, restaurants, and cinemas. Thanks to the meander of the Thames here, the river is always near.
There's also plenty of green space with Richmond Green, Old Deer Park, the Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew, and Richmond Park – London's largest royal park – all within about a mile of the station.
Richmond station is on the Waterloo-to-Reading mainline and is the terminus for one of the branches of the underground's District line and the overground North London line. The current Art Deco building went up in 1937 and on the front facade features a large square clock, which is well worth a glance up.

Richmond has seven platforms, 1 and 2 are used for mainline South West Trains services, 3 and 4 are mainly for London Overground services and 5, 6 and 7 for London Underground trains. Step-free access to all platforms is via staff-operated lifts. Toilets are located on the lower concourse. To the side of the station is a pay-and-display car park and storage space for 128 bikes.
