Travel to Ascot by train
The nearest train station to Ascot Racecourse is Ascot. From here it’s a mere 10-minute walk, which those in heels will be thankful for! Trains are frequent throughout the day with more services usually put on during race days (every 15 minutes during Royal Ascot) to accommodate for the many racegoers travelling by rail.
If you’re travelling in from London, the direct train from London Waterloo to Ascot takes around 59m and usually runs until 00:41.
If you’re travelling by train from Reading to Ascot, the journey time is around 26m, with the last train back leaving at 00:55.
Travel to Ascot by coach
If you enjoy the thought of a group road trip and don’t mind a sing-song along the way, then there’s plenty of organised and private bus trips available. National Express is the official partner to the event, offering coaches from 18 different locations around the UK.
Travel to Ascot by car
Well connected to the major motorways, including the M25, Ascot is well-placed to get to by road. It’s around an hour by car from London, an hour and a half from Cheltenham or four hours from Liverpool.
There are more than 8,000 car parking spaces available for those that travel to Ascot by car. These can be booked in advance on the Ascot Racecourse website.
Travel to Ascot by air
Whether you’re an international guest or hoping to arrive in style, it’s also possible to travel to the racecourse by plane.
For those wanting to splash the cash and arrive in style, private helicopters can be charted to land at the racecourse itself.
If you’re flying in from overseas, Heathrow airport is less than 30-miles from Ascot and is well serviced by the underground, buses and taxis. To travel Heathrow Airport to Ascot, take a bus to Feltham station, changing here for a train to Ascot. The journey takes around 1h 20m.
